I have reported him here in midfield at Slavia prague way more than u have mentioned him today.

He played RWB vs Atalanta. If you argue that, then u dont know what you watched.

TheSuperNerd:
Then you have not seen both at all.

You watched Moses play at RWB and draw easy conclusions. David Moses is a lad I follow and have mentioned here frequently in midfield in the Czech Liga. Decent prospect but against Atalanta, he was not involved as much coz he had strictly a RWB role.

Also Akinsanmiro vs Fiorentina and Milan is a great exposé on the lad. If you watched those 2 games and say Akin is not ready then I dont know what to say to una.

Akin vs Udinese and Napoli are more examples.
I have seen more of his games as a CM. I didn't make my opinion based on the game they played recently where he was played as a RWB.

I have no issues with the invitation of Akin but I won't get my hopes high because I don't think he has answers to our current problems.

Which game of David Moses stood out for you in the Czech Liga? Dont search. Just answer.

So you know he played RWB vs Atalanta then tell me I dont know the boy. Lol

Also, what is our current problems in the Super Eagles? Especially in midfield.

In the Czech Liga.

But against better quality opposition, the coach made the decision to shift him to RWB. He is decent ooo. I watch him and report on him but una dey talk am up like say una never see Hamzat Ojediran do same at RC Lens in Ligue 1.
you are right though, we need to watch him against stronger oppositions before concluding but from the lil I saw in those clips I was impressed to be honest

He pass am yet Raphael has a Super Eagles goal before Ndidi. Raph made his Super Eagles debut in 2022. Ndidi has been with the SEs since 2015. 68 NT appearances, no single goal.

Ndidi pass am yet Ndidi cant comfortably link defence and attack. Raph is a better 1st phase midfielder than Ndidi. Ndidi cant manipulate the momentum, angles , flow or tempo of first phase buildups better than Onyedika simply because Ndidi is not a better user of the ball compared to Onyedika.

Even in the 2nd phase Onye still tops Ndidi.

Ndidi pass am yet his ball striking is poor compared to Onyedika when it comes to arriving near the box. Against Benin, we saw how Ndidi folded when he had the chance to shoot at goal. This same Benin was the team Onyedika opened his SE account against.

We all agree that the Goal Onyeka scored to get us into the Playoffs will most likely be fluffed by Ndidi. And we know why.

Ndidi pass am yet he cant lines break consistently with vertical deep passes like Onyedika does.

Look, I judge with what my eyes see and Ndidi's technical limitations is still obvious. That he plays more often than any other midfielder under Chelle does not mean he is the best. It is just Chelle's preference. Finito.
With all these "Turenchi" coaches after coaches prefer ndidi ahead of raphael.

John Donald Nwankwo. Charles, u don forget say na me and you talk about this guy when he was even younger at same Elche few years back?

Now he is 25, and I dont even know whether Nigeria don talk to bobo Donald or not. Or whether him heart dey for us. On his quality, he looks decent as a central midfielder but his gametime is erratic so not enough to gauge his actual current level.

Ndidi have been unfortunate with scoring chances in the colors of the national team but that haven’t stopped him from carrying out his primary responsibility perfectly which is screening the back four

You guys are the one who wants him to play like Busquet or Carrick but dude isn’t and will never be that kinda player. Ndidi is a natural destroyer with decent ball playing ability and will always be

Clips of Abbas Ibrahim then at Pacos Ferreira were also impressive. Again, David Moses is promising but it is of note to highlight why his coaches didnt trust him in the middle against Atalanta in the UCL. He excelled at RWB by the way.

yea I remember him then but didn’t pay much attention about him after he found it hard then breaking into Elche’s team in laliga that very season

Learnt he is a steady performer for them this season and have improved

ChrisKels:
Dikachi is technically better than both Ndidi and Onyeka, but Ndidi is better at shielding the defense. Onyeka has more lungs than both but less technical than Dikachi and not a better shield than Ndidi. If I had my way, I would always play Ndidi or Onyeka as shield while Dikachi takes CM. Iwobi should be shifted to the LW where he has been unplayable for Fulham.

But we all know why that's not gonna happen right? You see that we know what is right, we just want to allow mediocrity thrive. As long as we continue the way we have been set up over the last couple of years, just dey expect 1-0 or 2-1 scoreline here and there. That is if opponents no even beat us

that's literally false, he crosses but his crosses are sub-par
Really? So if I may ask, as a winger, looking at his contribution vis a vis the number of times he has crossed versus the number of times he did useless take-ons, wouldn't you agree with me that in a way , I am still very right? He crosses but his crosses are sub-par? Isnt that a way of saying his crosses are usesless? A winger O.....

Well what do I know? Let's carry on

QueenJazz:
We're technically saying the same thing. Skill and grit must go hand in hand. That's what makes South American teams so dangerous, for instance, because they marry the technicality and strategy of the Europeans with the physicality and aggression of the Africans. You can't divorce one from the other.

And to that point, aggression without tact and skill is also an exercise in futility. I used the CHAN eagles as example. In the match against Senegal, they had so much energy pressing the Senegalese and they won the ball back so many times in the first half. At the end they still lost because they were tactically clueless. Senegal were practically laid back for majority of that game. I didn't watch the game with Sudan so idk how they played there.

Even in the games against Lesotho and South Africa that people were blasting Lookman, he actually played with so much aggression, if you took notice. What good did it do tho? He still lost a lot of passes and kept hugging the ball in moments where he could have just let it go. Of course, we know it's because of his state of mind, but still.

If you carry a bunch of hungry and aggressive secondary school students and take them to play against prime Brazil, Spain or Madrid, what do you suppose the result is going to be?

So yes, grit and skill are important. But they are also mutually exclusive (i.e one without the other will always produce a flawed game)

In the game against Benin, we were 100% more aggressive compared to our game against Lesotho for instance. But let's not forget that it was also key changes like bringing in Chukwueze, taking Moses to the left wing, and keeping Ekong on the bench that also helped our chances.

Ndidi played with so much energy, and yet see the clear chance he missed in the 18 yard box.

Tactics and football intelligence is just as important as willpower.

At any rate, Chelle can't afford to tweak anything now in terms of formation or strategy because he's understandably trying not to rock the boat. So I perfectly understand his hesitance to bring in new players.
We are not saying the same thing to the extent that you zero in on aggression as the motif of my write up and your constant reference to the Chan team.

Warrior state of mind is not necessarily aggression oo. It is a never say die attitude. It is playing with determination and grit. To limit it to aggression is to miss the point. That's why I mentioned Benjamin who one can hardly describe as aggressive on the pitch yet the fact that the coach says he is first to turn up shows the mentality of a winner.

Madrid has that winning mentality which comes from their illustrious pedigree. Many national teams also have it. Sometimes we call them tournament teams meaning that they often put up a good showing. One can hardly say this teams are aggressive. So it's not about aggression. It's about the team knowing itself as a winner and playing that way. It's a mix of many excellent qualities not just aggression.

I don't think skill is a problem with the Super Eagles players. They have sufficient skill. So one can hardly complain about that. That's why the reference to the heavy footed Chan team in this context, is in my opinion, misplaced.

The coach is solely constrained for time. He would have to do with these set of players for the playoffs.

Your assumption is funny to me! Which better side has Benjamin played against yet he is by far our best defender as at now.
David Moses is far superior for our present tactics where we lack a real box to box.
And yes! Akin for all his technicality lacks pace and strength required for what we need now.
Dele and Oyedika can play his role, however we currently have no one in the mode of D. Moses.
D. Moses was assigned to stop Lookman and he did and almost scored.
Playing midfield against Atalanta would have been a piece of cake to him. He is that good!
TheSuperNerd:
David Moses played RWB vs Atalanta in the UCL. You have not seen him in a midfield role against better quality sides.

Akinsanmiro played against Milan just last time out and shone and you are saying he lacks pace and strength. A game I saw. Smh.

He is still a young lad with improvements ongoing but he has traits already which our midfield needs: Plays on the front foot and can retain & carry the ball forward. Also not afraid to receive a pass in any position he finds himself. We need such technical bravery in the Super Eagles.

His MOTM game vs Fiorentina were he won the most duels and showed real intensity in his game as he did vs Milan shows this even more. He is Super Eagels ready. Na una know wetin una dey watch.

Arokodare - Bench for Wolves vs Burnley

Orban - Starts again for Hellas Verona vs Cagliari in Serie A. They lead 1-0.

David Moses finished his game for Slavia Prague well over half an hour ago.

This right here, my bruh... is the original origin of the current Super Eagles problems. The mindset! Other than the super Jersey that we went to the 2018 world cup to go and don,( and of course, it was the best jersey in the world ...even up till now) it wasn't enough to improve our play as we didnt do anything meaningful. That man did more harm than good to the psyche of the team all in the name of managing our expectations. We came to accept mediocre performances on the pitch of play and resorted to talks like you cant give what you dont have.

For crying out loud, we are Nigeria !!! if not for our visionless NFF, how did we get here? Can you imagine a world cup where brazil failed to qualify? Some will say well that's football but the grit needs to be there!
Exactly. We have some bit of history in football. Fight for that legacy. Improve on it. Go on higher.

Don't just put up limp performances because you are afraid to raise expectations. That's what Rohr did. And that's why I was strongly in support of his leaving the team.
