Considering the circumstances, we really need to cut Chelle some slack. From the moment he was appointed, almost every match he’s handled has felt like a “final.” He hasn’t had the luxury of experimenting with his squad, except during the Unity Cup and the friendly games in Russia 🇷🇺. Surely, you wouldn’t expect him to test new players in must-win matches like those against Rwanda 🇷🇼 and Zimbabwe 🇿🇼, or even in crucial World Cup qualifiers.
From his recent interview, it’s clear that the emergence of Fredricks was purely circumstantial the originally invited players were unavailable for the Unity Cup, so Fredricks was drafted in because he was already with the team in Brentford. The same goes for Olakunle, who was also in Russia 🇷🇺 when some players withdrew from the friendlies.
Looking ahead, with two more important World Cup qualifying games coming up, it might not be wise to introduce too many new faces into a team still trying to grasp his playing philosophy especially when even players who’ve been with him for over ten months are just beginning to adapt.
Personally, I think the best time for him to bring in new talents would be either just before AFCON or after the March playoff fixtures.
You remember how we brought in new players in the crucial WC match against Ghana. I'm not saying that is why we didn't win but that was obviously not a good time to bring in new players.

Benjamin Frederick is an outlier talent. Cant term Moses the same.

Have you watched Hamzat Ojediran of Lens? Did you watch him all through last season? Whatever energy David Moses is showing now is similar to Ojediran and guess what, Ojediran has played and shown his quality against much better opposition in Ligue 1.

Piece of cake yet the coach placed him in a role where he had lesser influence on the game. RWB.

Pls just rest the David Moses Agenda and keep observing carefully. He played majorly on the right again today in the league despite starting in what looks like a double pivot.

And you clearly have not observed Akin enough for you to make such hilarious comments. Akin has showed up strong this season in Serie A and most especially vs Napoli, Fiorentina, Milan and Udinese. Go get better ball lenses.

Bossoflife25:
Your assumption is funny to me! Which better side has Benjamin played against yet he is by far our best defender as at now.
David Moses is far superior for our present tactics where we lack a real box to box.
And yes! Akin for all his technicality lacks pace and strength required for what we need now.
Dele and Oyedika can play his role, however we currently have no one in the mode of D. Moses.
D. Moses was assigned to stop Lookman and he did and almost scored.

One of Osimhen's most priceless qualities is he plays with the same intensity whether in the league or UCL. Very endearing character

I'm of the opinion that we approach Kayode of Brentford. If he turns us down, he turns us down. We have no deputy for Aina. Osayi is a big down grade.
Osayi no be am. The Kayode has earned rave reviews with high praise for his long throw - ins.

Awaziem is still in the mix though.

Which other Nigerian CDM outscored Oliseh in same era? Oya talk.

Oliseh was the best and still scored some goals in Eagles colors. Ndidi has not gotten one in 10 years of national team football, especially seeing the bangers he hit back in Belgium and his early years in England and you expect me not to be worried about that metric??

Okay, before Injuries hit Ndidi, 2016-2017 Ndidi was still scoring bangers, why didnt he hit them in the NT? So no excuses please.

Ndidi tops Onyeka in the CDM role yet when he started in 2021 Afcon as the main man in the role, Nigeria lost out in the round of 16. Even under Rohr at Afcon 2019, Ndidi had Etebo but their double pivot could not take us into the final.

Onyeka under Peseiro at Afcon 2023 (in 2024) played the main defensive midfield role like a lion and Nigeria reached an Afcon final for the first time since 2013.

If Ndidi had been at the Afcon under Peseiro and started, I doubt we would have made it.

Ndidi does not have Onyeka's never quenching Workhorse energy and he does not have Onyedika's top notch Ball playing.
Ndidi is a big let down with goals. Even when he gets into goal scoring positions, he bottles it. I have removed my mind from Ndidi ever scoring for Nigeria.

I watched Akin every game this season. Seria A is not what it was years ago. Playing against 41 year old Modric and Fofana and winning MON against Florentina doesn't equate to suceeding in the box to box role on the continent. David Moses is better suited for our current plan. Akin is good but not what the SE needs at the moment. Simple. Akpoborie. Ekoku, Ikepa etc were good for their clubs but not really for the SE. You should know this. Ciao!

I hope VAR will be used in the playoffs in case we meet DRC. There is a particular lunatic - Soso Mukoko that would probably be part of the DRC squad. He was just paraded by FC Lolo against Pirates and he committed numerous fouls that don't just deserve a red but a life ban, yet he was left to walk freely by these weirdos that masquerade as African referees.

I really pray Kayode comes. I have been following him from his Fiorentina days, he is good.

If and when he comes, I would have him on the right and Aina on the left in important games against the top teams. No be me and una dey do that Zaidu, Bruno, Agu, Awaziem, Osayi things abeg.

This is my exact argument about this onyedika guy we fans are not cin …no worry ,dem go soon use am …2 foreign coaches can’t be wrong na ,same way we taught Bruno was better Dan zaidu ..if onyedika is dt good Dan ndidi ,den he shldnt be chopping bench under 2diff foreign coaches who has worked closer with these two players In trainings.
Another player I am looking with corner eye is Chrisantus. He received high praise on this forum but I was shocked when Chelle did not originally invite him for this last match. And now he is not featuring for Crystal Palace.

I just hope it's a matter of the coaches not having figured him out yet than footballing ability because he was decent for Getafe.

But we all know why that's not gonna happen right? You see that we know what is right, we just want to allow mediocrity thrive. As long as we continue the way we have been set up over the last couple of years, just dey expect 1-0 or 2-1 scoreline here and there. That is if opponents no even beat us
Lookman is good but should be paired with Osimhen. He doesn't perform when played as a winger.

No you have not. You have not "watched" Akin every game this season. I confidently know that much. People can have eyes and still cant see.

And certifying David Moses who does it vs Pardubice, Zlin & Sigma as our instant MF messiah over another talented kid who is consistently doing it in Serie A is pure agenda.

So Moses is 100% guarantee that he will perform and not be another akpoborie abi. Ojediran plays in a higher level, (havent gotten games this season) is just as energetic and intense as Moses and didnt even get a chance despite his last season showings and he too isnt guarantee but no, You skipped ligue 1 and already crowning David Moses as savior.

Even when Nwakali was available back then and we needed his profile, the argument against him was his playing level. That he was not playing at a higher level. And to be honest, they had a point even though I also belong to the school of thought that identifies exceptions to the rule. So abeg rest.

😂😂 I am indifferent to Awaziem oo. If not that the coach mentioned him, I don't think I would have.

Apart from Balotelli, Italy doesn't give black players much attention. Remember one igbo guy that Italy used in the friendly we played on the road to 2014 WC. Afterwards nothing for am. So Kayode should be wise oo and now is the time.

There's this guy on X, Tobywrites. He gives updates on Nigerian players. I avidly enjoy his posts.

Anyone who has players in mind, try and get Chelle number and send it them to him.

Access matters and in this age, I don't think anyone who wants to have his phone number will find it difficult.

But such a player MUST be better than what we currently have.

Chijioke Aniagboso played 47minutes for Chernomorets Odessa in the Ukrainian Persha Liga and got red carded in the 48th minute but his teammates held on to a valuable 1-1 away draw against Livyi Bereg.

Gift Orban doing what he knows best in the Italian Serie A and proving why he should be invited netted yet another goal in alternate weeks .He got Hellas Verona 2nd goal in the 59th minute against Cagliari as his team is even(2:2) and the game is drawing to its conclusion.
