It could be true. I've once had to tell my much older cousin's baby mama to leave him. That's because he was an unrepentant drunk. He'd beat the lady and the two of them would bring their issues to my dad to settle. Often times, he'd injure the lady. One day I told her, if you know you won't leave, then fight back! Get a stilleto or sledge hammer. Let him too have a scar or two, then you'd be even.

He is late now. His vice eventually ended him.

That must have been a hard decision for her, but also a wake-up call. When his own mother says she deserves better, it says a lot. Healing and choosing herself is a big step.
