The dollar is always at its lowest against the naira in December for very obvious reasons. In December, there is a peak in diaspora remittances as diasporans send home extra money for Christmas. Additionally, there is a spike in returnees and visitors over this period, who come in with dollars.

You don't have to contribute to every topic.

Look the improvement in Naira is not about fuel supply. The improvement is due to the fact that portfolio investors have moved their funds from the US due to slump in interest rates due to the shut down and are going to places where the interest rates are higher and where they can bet on making more gains from a depreciating dollar in those countries. The end result is that now Nigeria has so much dollars flowing in from these portfolio investors. It has nothing to do with fuel supply.
Dangote is doing something similar to psychological warfare to incite panic on those still holding on to their dollars.
Truth is if Trump decides to bully federal reserves to hike rates to push back portfolio investors, Nigeria is cooked. Note that we are also entering campaign season and we know what happens to dollars then.

Those guys loot in dollar so technically it won't affect them as they will only sell what they steal, this advice goes to speculators who bought and hold hoping for the dollar to rise before selling.

Now if you buy when it is above 1k5 then you are already losing, for now since we produce our own fuel, the bulk of the pressure has lessen and all economic data points to upward trend for the foreseeable future. It's unlike before that government needs to keep it afloat.

This position is not true, over 90% of cost of producing fuel is still dollar denominated, until we start local production of those service, Naira will continue to struggle.
