On the autism subject what would be the cause where the prevalence was was 1 in 2000 in 1980 to 1 in 23, among black boys

How many people did you know growing up who were not verbal at age 15 or 20, Now compared to now. Something definitely changed in the last 30yrs that has spiked the increase
And so therefore, Tylenol?

And circumcisions?

Neurological conditions like Autism are complex diagnosis with multiple factors, so it is difficult to totally isolate one factor. However, extensive peer research have been consistent about genetics being a primary factor. A lot has changed in our environment, lifestyle and genetic since 1980. The study of neurological conditions like Autism and Cerebral palsy have come a long long way since research into it started.

In 1980, we did not have as much data to actually determine true prevalence. In comparison to the 2000s and now, most families in the 80s did not want speak about conditions like Autism because of the stigma associated. Consequently, you can't actually use data from the 80s to make an actual comparative argument. Also, keep in mind that there are varying severities of Autism- Mild/ Moderate/ Severe.

Neurological disorders like Autism and IDD are massively underreported in developing countries like Nigeria. We have almost 0 data on the actual prevalence of Autism. It is 2025 and we just saw Senator Natasha put together a bill to establish Autism centers across Nigeria.

If you suggest genetics has changed in the last 40yrs, what exactly is making it change that is causing that amount of increase in diagnosis. It is also a cause for concern when a significant number of youths might grow up not to be functional adults who will contribute to the society, pay taxes

That is something a society should be worried about cos it jeopardizes your future whatever is causing it should be investigated and addressed or cured. Imagine the trauma of the millions and thousands of parents who have to deal with this. When you are faced with a condition where medical practitioners have no solutions and basically just live with it, Its not so soothing for those living with it

Its like telling a man with a broken leg that just endure the pain, at that point in pain he will even go to Indaboski

My opinion doesn't really matter since I'm not the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services making policy, but I would suggest more awareness. Or we cure it with koboko. Least my ma would have, I shamefully say.

Take Nigeria for instance. Autism is very not on our agenda, though one could argue some might have it. But we wouldn't know until we start focusing on it.

And after writing the above, gratitude to Roland17 who has put more effort in than I could bother with.

Will Making Nigeria Great Again also be a bad slogan

When I was growing up I knew 2 people who could not talk or function normally by age 15-20, and I know a different two people now that I am still growing up who can not talk or function normally by age 15-20.

When you do not have a solution to a pressing problem everything becomes an option. I am sure many of the people you see in churches and miracle houses also get there through desperation, when you have a problem and no solution in sight you believe anything

Depends what is meant by it, though I think we might have an arguement about when Nigeria was great that we now want to again. But it thankfully can't mean MAWA.

Every data shows that there has been a dramatic increase even by the eye test and by your eye test. If you knew 2 in your time, the average 16yr old nowadays probably knows 30 people

Raum, I am really not that stupîd or ïgnorant.

I'm currently fighting a family member who believes her half brother made me ill. She's a UK trained nurse who should know better than to be trying to fill my head with such rubbish.

When I have a problem, I look for the cause and then find a solution instead of ïgnorantly believing RFK or drinking bleach.

Maybe its just your imagination that is telling you MAGA means something other than MAGA. And that is your own issue.
If you say I want to Make Nigeria Great Again to be like in the 70s or 80s when graduates don't go without a job, or ASUU strike no fuel queues
But your mind suddenly thinks its to make Nigeria Great means to make it Fulani again or make it military rule again. Then that is on you

raumdeuter, you definitely did not live in the 70s or 80s when graduates were jobless and students were rioting and fuel was short, so I can't therefore trust your view on what maga might mean to some in US. Sorry.

You have just summarized why someone in RJK Jr position shouldn't make reckless statements that are not backed with facts/ research. The warning on Tylenol packaging have no direct relationship or statement about Autism as claimed by RFK and that is why he is needing to backtrack. Below is where he RFK made his reckless statements.

What many might believe is not necessarily what is true, you should know by now.

I lived in Nigeria in the 70s, and can safely tell you that my Nigeria then was worse than the Nigerian of today, while some will tell you how great Nigeria was for them in the same period. However, fuel shortage and riots were rather common, though the oil boom did temporarily create employment.

It's the same way maga can mean make America great again to some, and mean "make it Fulani again or make it military rule again" to others. Or is that not why you have the Left and the Right?

Don't ignore what these people are saying, all those tradesmen. These are often the bellwether, when they are pissed and they vote a lot.
That was what many analyst said they saw in 2016 when Hillary was running many people in the rust belt were seeing the signs but the coastal elites ignored them as deplorables

Dave Chappelle mentioned it in his standup that he saw the voting lines during Obama election and saw during Trump election and he saw that it was different

It is very different. Most medications (prescription/ OTC) have warnings against use during pregnancy…is that supposed to be novel? Most medications already asks pregnant women to consult with their physician before taking them.

However, no Tylenol (Acetaminophen) medication has direct warnings against use because of the risk of neurological/ intellectual disabilities. Trying to tie the use of Acetaminophen to Autism/ ADHD is irresponsible because research and data doesn’t support it.
I've noticed westerners love their pills and medicines. Every small ailment, they pop pills. They pop sleeping pills instead of counting one to a thousand.
Lots of chemicals also in the foods. Preservatives, food colouring, soft drinks , processed foods, genetically modified foods have all sorts of chemicals. Add children toys, too much smog in the cities etc All these chemicals .from waking up to bedtime I believe contribute to more visits to doctors .

When you see something of that proportion increase and no suitable solution is in the way, that leaves room for ANY opinions both founded and unfounded. Many people have tried to link to increased medications.

This isn't the first time a medicine would have been used for many years and later in the future someone comes to admit it had side effects. We saw it with opioids when some people were chewing like Candy, Perdue pharmacy was churning it out in millions and claiming it wasn't that bad. They were getting govt approvals(FDA), lives were ruined, Until we landed in the middle of a crisis which wiped a generation of youths

If we cannot say why in 40yrs 1 in 2000 became 1 in 23, At that rate in another 20yrs will it be 1 in 3? And shouldn't people be worried? When they are rightly worried without a solution in sight, Anything that looks like hope they latch onto it

For example, RFK just announced a plan to remove petroleum based synthetic dyes from food. Maybe its harmless or not

I think there is over medication of the society, every small thing has a medication and this.

Young boys who are naturally more energetic and do rough plays get tagged with ADHD and they start them on medication early in life, Some years back, I was playing a card game called "Cards against Humanity" that was the first time I saw Ritalin. I had never heard of it, I thought it was a slang or "cute way" to call people reetards. Until one of the white guys told me its a drug for ADHD and he has been on it before his pre teen, When he listed the number of medication he has been on before his teenage years due to ADHD, I was amazed. Maybe Ibeokehie might be able to shed more light

Except that we judge him by what he does, and it looks more like mtga than anything else to many.

For your information, "when Schools fed students", only a tiny portion of Nigerians went to school, and those who didn't go went hungry.

In those same 70s, some will tell you Nigeria had uninterrupted electricity, while in those same 70s, the transformer will blow on Bola Adewunmi in Obanikoro, and we'd not have light for 3 months. Electric poles did not even exist in the Orolu Kingdom of Ifon Osun till the 80s, so I doubt we could possibly had had uninterrupted electricity in the 70s.

I've just bought Herman Hesse's Siddhartha for an old man who claims no one starved in Ife in the 40-50s. This old man grew up in the palace and thinks everyone was eating like he ate. My mum and dad tell a very different story of that same 40-50s. I suggest you get a copy and read it instead of making crap up about periods you seem to know nothing of.
