“My Mother Failed Me” — 24-year-old woman opens up about years of manipulation, neglect and betrayal
A 24-year-old Nigerian woman, identified as Oladosu Ola Jumoke, has gone viral after sharing a heartbreaking story about her childhood & the emotional trauma she endured — particularly at the hands of her mother.

In a lengthy video shared online, Ola described her mother as “a narcissist, a manipulator, & a woman who failed me.” She said she decided to speak up after years of silence, not out of hate, but out of a need for healing & truth.

According to her, her parents divorced in 2015 when she was just 14. Her father, a trader based in Ibadan, lost everything after customs seized his goods, plunging the family into financial hardship. Her mother, a nurse, left him & moved away with her other children, leaving Ola behind because she was still on scholarship at the time.

When she later joined her mother & siblings, things took a painful turn. Ola said her mother was in a relationship with a wealthy man who barely supported them, yet constantly pressured her & her sister to “use what they had” to bring in money.

At just 15, Ola says she witnessed disturbing things — from her mother comparing her and her sister to other girls who “had boyfriends that gave them money,” to encouraging behavior that no child should be pressured into.

By 17, Ola said she was introduced to an older man, 20 years her age, who eventually began a relationship with her — allegedly with her mother’s full knowledge and approval.

“She even knelt down and begged me to accept him,” Ola recalled tearfully. “She said he would take care of us & sponsor my education.”
Ola said she later moved to Ibadan with the man, hoping to find her father again. But what awaited her was abuse.
“He would beat me, even when I was pregnant,” she said. “When I told my mom, she asked me what I did to provoke him and told me to calm down.”

She said her mother manipulated her father into believing she had “run away with a man for money,” cutting her off from him for years.
Eventually, tired and broken, Ola ab*rted her pregnancy, reached out to her father — who forgave her & took her in.

Most Nigerian women are like that. That’s why we have lots of hookup babes still living with their mothers. This generation is gone🤦‍♂️🤧

You can’t shame the shameless

"At just 15, Ola says she witnessed disturbing things — from her mother comparing her and her sister to other girls who “had boyfriends that gave them money,”

As a man, do everything in your power to hold on to your kids even if you DIVORCE their mother.

Women are HORRIBLY SOLIPSISTIC—they only care about themselves.

They don't have the sense of RESPONSIBILITY that's in-built in men.

The the unbreakable Mother-and-Child bond they sold us is a SCAM!

Men are NOT the ones throwing babies in DUSTBINS and SOAKAWAYS.

Back to their solipsism, it's an INALIENABLE part of their being.

The mother in this story ABANDONED her husband because he was POOR.
Then she married a RICH man.

But NOT to take care of the children she SNATCHED from their fathers.
NO!

She used the rich man to take care of ONLY HERSELF.

This woman started putting the idea of PROSTITUTION into the head of a 15-year old child.

A woman who left her poor husband to marry a rich man PIMPED her own daughter at just 17 years of age.

For men:

NEVER leave your DNA-verified child with her mother in a divorce!

Even if it's a casual encounter that resulted in a child, ALWAYS take the child.

The sense of responsibility that drives a man to put his kids first is ABSENT in women.

Too many children, as in most cases, is the cause.

Have fewer children. It is not only for your good, but the children's good.

That said, the average Nigerian adult needs therapy.

It's easy for you to say oga, did you even bother to read the whole story?
She was just 17 and living with her mother who later gave her out.

You might come from the trenches, and as a guy might quickly adapt to the environment you find yourself and move on with life.
You can't say the same thing for a lady and also depending on the background she came from.

A better arrangement would be for these mothers to sleep with the men. That is what her mother and Regina's mother should have done. Not pushing their teenage daughters into marriage and relationships. I don't understand Nigerian mothers and the obsession with marriage, even when their daughters don't know left from right.

If you are separating/divorcing your husband, do not run away with kids you cannot fend for. It is insanity to do that. The kids interest should always come first!!!

This is truly heartbreaking 💔 No one deserves to go through such pain, especially from someone meant to protect and love them. It takes so much courage to speak up about something this deep, and I admire her strength for sharing her story. Healing starts with truth, and I hope she finds peace, love, and the happiness she was denied for so long

A mother who behaves like this to our daughter has a lot to answer from God. That said, my advice to the lady is that she leave the guy and try to reconnect with her dad. Unless she wanna remain broken for a long time.

If it were a boy sharing a similar story, it wouldn’t attract nearly as much public sympathy as hers has. It is well. Many of us, as young boys, went through things no human should ever experience. The painful part is, the pain stays with us forever, and sometimes it shapes our behavior in ways we can’t explain. Yet, instead of understanding, we often get punished and judged by those around us.
