Nawa o, this isn't funny o and they are holding people's passports and delaying
Royals1st:
I submitted September 23th frequent traveler both for my self and my wife till date 28th October our passport still showing processing at the France embassy it really funny honestly our travel date has passed Oct 12 this my first experience with French visa I have been. As in ehn

Just imagine the way this person you responded to now, their travel date has passed well. Would they now say they didn't apply early enough or what?

And TLS too seems to be in the dark because there's no news or update on their website about the delays other than the usual "we're experiencing high volumes of application bla bla bla"

It's crazy that they're just holding people's passports to ransom beyond the normal times.

Please is this Abuja or Lagos? It seems Lagos is the one experiencing all these delays

Lagos but I got this update now via TLS

Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Mobizl: 5:13pm On Oct 28, 2025
At this junction they should give people their passports because it's not a do or die matter. TLS just keeps saying there's delay but no news on when passports would be returned. They should at least understand that it's not proper to hold on to people's passports for months without feedback.

Embassies and consulates in Nigeria often take advantage of Nigerians because they know there is little government oversight to hold them accountable. They are aware that when you request your passport, it is interpreted as canceling your visa application, meaning no refund will be issued. This is part of a broader problem of scams involving embassies and consulates in Nigeria. Even when you request the return of your passport, it can take many working days, and getting a response to emails is another challenge. Unfortunately, the government is largely ineffective in protecting citizens, leaving people with nowhere to report such issues.

No it 21 days today ! You don't count weekend when counting visa submission date
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Mobizl: 5:50pm On Oct 28, 2025
I know how to calculate working days. Take mine now I submitted on the 10th of September and its definitely over 30 working days.

Yes, this is just what I feel is happening. Like when you look online (Reddit and other forums) when people apply for visa from "saner countries", they don't get meaninglessly delayed and the visa application center now coming to do damage control on behalf of the embassy. It's very stupid that these countries too take advantage of the "Nigerian factor" once they are in Naija.

Is this how we'll just not hear any thing back from TLS and their cohorts for over a month?

Maybe one needs to start pestering TLS for answers. I might go to their office before the end of the day or maybe next week to even find out what exactly is going on.

I chose "company director" when I completed the same form.

Hope that helps.

My own didn’t take long as a first time Schengen VV applicant. Submitted first week of October and on the 10th day I recieved my one month visa. Sometimes it’s all about the supporting documents in your application

If you don't mind. Kindly share a list of your supporting documents and type of visa you applied for (short-term or long-stay, business or tourism etc)

Note: I used a travel agent who has a family in Italy but he is currently in abj. My visa type is a Tourist type which is VV

So it balls down to a good

six months statement which my monthly bal has been 7m or more(each transaction that comes and goes out of that account must have a narrative very important) is you are a business man like me. May differ if you are working for someone or in an organization.

Authentic marriage certificate (I’m divorced but he said I had to use it to boost my chances as a first timer)

Few Pictures of my traditional wedding

3 landed property documents

Business Acct with CAC Certification

Hotel and flight reservations

Letter of intent

These where the documents I could see on the day of submission.

My submission was suppose to be on a Monday, I printed my Acct statement the Friday before that date in early October first week. After 10 days of submission, Dhl delivered on the 10th day and I was given one month to go and chill.

Lastly, I want to clear this notions that embassy calls your bank to know how much that’s in your Acct. That’s a big lie. But if you tell me that they would confirm just the transactions in that statement only, I will pray for long life for you and your family. Thank you my people. Make Una tell me congrats.

Don’t forget that it wasn’t easy getting appointment, I have been trying since early this year/late last year. It’s well with every one

My advice to anyone travelling to France is to get a visa for Italy 🇮🇹 you will be fine on the end. Get Italy and go to France or any other Schengen. My best advice for you

okay that’s for Italy then. For France there is an ongoing delay & I don’t think it has to do with supporting documents or whatever.

Seems to be a lagos problem.

I submitted(wife and husband) in Abuja on the 17th of October and both were returned on 24th October.

And thanks to the guys that advised on the Ethiopian airline dummy booking as it worked.

Has anyone received an update from the French Embassy this week? Especially those who submitted in early October?
