Cc. Seun Cc. Nlfpmod It's important to quickly appraise my lineage to clear out any doubt because of the opinions and observations I will be raising below. I am a full blood South-westerner, many people mistake me for igbo because of my 'Half-cast' looks but I am Kwara-Yoruba. (And I love to identify myself as being from the SW not NC) That being said, let's talk about the hard facts, shift away from the religious undertones that surrounds the trending news of a possible invasion of Nigeria by Trump's America. Why is it possible that in this country a man can be kidnapped from Kenya via unethical means, tried, granted bail/freedom by the court of law but the government still decided to keep him indefinitely? - If your answer to the above is 'security reasons' do you realize that this is the same pretext for America's planned invasion of Nigeria? Like me, you don't have to be a supporter of any movement to criticize injustice against that movement. The hard fact is that we live in a cou try where a high-ranking political figure can decide, just by the thought of it, to oppress you with the justice and law enforcement system, and keep you perpetually in detention even when the court of law grants your freedom. It's easy to criticize America and talk about sovereignty, but how about human rights being trampled upon everyday in this nation? Oh! Did Nigerian leaders forget that there are also those stronger than them that can toss them around anyhow they want? Police can maltreat you, dish slaps to young men, abuse people incarcerated in their cells, torture them and still go Scott free, Sowore was granted bail and less than 24 hours later he was picked up again. People in power don't realize the importance of the rule of law until they become a victim. Let's talk about Fubara, a democratically elected governor or Rivers isn't a 'sovereign state' again? For political reasons, man was trampled upon and turned into an asslicker all for standing tall against god-father ideology, a terrible sickness that has brought this nation to its kneels. State of emergency was declared over evidences that still looks shady till tomorrow. Even toddlers in this country knew it was the voice of Mr. President but the hands of Wike. Soldiers were moved in and Fubara was chassed out like a criminal. Familiar story, because all that is about to.happen again only that this time, Nigeria seem to be the Rivers state in this new story, now everyone suddenly remembers the United Nations sovereignty law, funny, for a country that does not regard the rule of law in whatsoever form. EFCC operatives still storm people's houses like thieves in the nights, despite several orders from the top echelons of the police force, the average Roger bribe seeking black thing called roadside police never stopped taking bribes and searching phones of their victims, the ones they profile, no evidences no investigations, no justified suspicions, just the audacity of evil spirit in them and the assurance than an average Nigerian citizen is too weak to confront a 'mad man' with gun. Like a wise man once said, the evil that men do, lives with them, What goes around, comes around. I wish the President of Nigeria goodluck in resolving these crisis but they are no saint either. Let them look inwards and address America's concerns but more importantly, they should know that you can't come to equity without clean hands. It's time for everyone in this nation no matter how highly placed you think you are, to start respecting human rights, obeying the rule of law and stop oppression of citizens. Always your girl. Gold Rose 🍷

I think the Kwara-Yoruba are the real deal. They are the best of both worlds. As for the US invasion, it will never happen. Nigeria is a sovereign nation and will defend itself against any foreign threat. |

They shall be caught in their own trap. They shall fall into their own destruction. The game they played in Rivers State will be replayed in Lagos. APC will also pass away |

The average Apc supporter is a hypocrite and a sycophant. They dont tell truth. They only say what favors their camp. I think they have their whatsap group where they direct them know what lies to tell. |

Brendaniel:Honestly, reality is that people are being killed, and obviously our military seem to be of no match for these killers. If there's an external help trying to contain the killers, either in the form of political pressure on government to do more or more extreme measures like military interventions; why should anyone who is not a killer/terrorists be mad? Especially since both sides are losing people🤷♂️ Or could it be that one side is not being affected or they enjoy watching the other side suffer? 🤷♂️ I doubt that. Nigerians are good people and we all want these terrorism to stop. These people rape women for crying out loud and they raid villages, kill kids, everyone up north is at their mercy. Nigeria can't afford to be another Syria or Palestine just see how dangerous our roads are... we pampered Bokoharam like this but today, like a nairalander once said "... that oak tree has matured and it is now demanding sacrifices" And please enough of resources stealing talks from nairalanders abeg😂😂 all of us in this country, with one of the largest reserves of crude oil and natural gas in the world buy those commodities at exhorbitant prices even now that we have a local refinery. The price will still increase in coming weeks, thanks to petroleum tax, non of us have an ounce of gold in our name from the government and the tax net has just been widened to capture everyone. In fact we even pay 7 naira on top of every failed transaction 😂😂😂🤣🤣 so I wonder what resources it is that we are all talking about |

Goldrosewine:The issue is really worrisome, I pray lasting solutions are provided this time around, what even provokes me more is that some Nigerians are still playing politics with the whole issue just like you said in your write up using things like the stealing resources narrative and other excuses for something not to be done to bring an end to the killings... |

Goldrosewine:On the Nnamdi kanu case, I don't think the fg is wrong picking him up from wherever he was. I don't see any country where he would carryout such actions and expect the government to be quiet. To seek exit is one thing, to call for arm against the state is another. You can actually fight for freedom without violence, once you tell people to pick up arm or instigate people to violence, that movement has lost it legitimacy that is why you see international bodies involved his ordeal. Now, where I don't agree with the fg is the approach it is using. Since they applied the carrot and stick tactics to the militancy crises in the south south and it similar tactics in the north recently to bh and bandits in the north, why is not being use in the south east. I think they should come to a compromise, but if that doesn't work, then there should be a referendum. There should be one in the south east, every igbos living outside the east will go back to vote and should remain there until the result of the voting and if calling for Biafra wins, all those who went home will automatically lose their Nigerian citizenship. If anybody should be calling for succession it should the south south people and nobody else, the south bleeds with it naturally resources, when it comes to sharing of the fed government structures, you will the three major tribes in almost federal government institutions across the country yet they are the ones causing so much noise. Go federal government establishment in the south you will find hausa, ibos and yoruba in abundance while leaving the security and gateman for the indigenous people. On the fubara and wike matter, I think Tinubu actually saves his ass, plans were already concluded to impeach that week and if Tinubu didn't step in, he would have been impeach true the legal channel. He should patiently wait to uproot wike's structure before beginning a fight. |
