Most people are turning off the bulbs that is outside.

Electric stoves have been packed in cartons. In fact, any trader that deals on electric stove in Aba should better change strategy cos it is no longer profitable to sell electric stove in Aba.

Secondly, there is improvement in power supply in areas already covered with prepaid metre. Reason? Darkness is automatic loss for the power company. The era of people paying for darkness with estimated billing is gradually being phased out in Aba.

God bless Alex Otti.....this man has single handedly transformed Abia state in less than 2 years of governance. This is what good and sincere leadership can achieve. Abia state is no longer the dirty state without direction....its now the leader in good governance and quality leadership.

No, this is entirely driven by the Federal Government. That company couldn’t have achieved any of this without FG policies — covering areas such as metering, tariff reform, subsidy removal, and power sector decentralization. Particularly, that subsidy removal allowed them to set tarrifs that makes the business itself viable.

I am on Band C Abapower. The current tariff is around 190 naira per kWh. It should be higher for higher bands.

For those of you ranting how it is the brain child of Federal government. you can rant all you want but it doesn't change the fact that the governor of this state took it up on himself to give out prepaid meter freely to people in Aba zone everybody that has prepaid meter is enjoying light band B is enjoying so much like that at least we don't hear generator noise like we used to.

I noticed something sickening in that meter distribution. They can give one meter to a plaza that has 12 shops. It's a serious problem because they all have different power consumption rate. It is causing serious wahala in Aba.

i tweaked mine prepaid meter so my meter blinks but doesnt read anything . its stuck at at last year recharge .cant remeber the last time i stepped into nepa office.
I think the authorities should take note of this guy's comment

Bands are attributed by major feeders, a single feeder can cover parts of a entire local goverment, and many parts of town. Its not by neighbourhood , street or transformer per say

If they want separate meters. They should go to Abapower office to create new accounts.
