esosa4real:Do not waste time contact a Canadian licensed immigration consultant No one here can give you the best answer except someone you can pay to carefully review your documents and identify the main issue why you might ask because we need more context to understand the POF document that was shared and that's what someone that is licensed will look over specifically a Canadian licensed immigration consultant (not the ones you see on Facebook or in random groups). In Nigeria, there are only about six or seven officially licensed immigration consultants. They need to go over your documents because, from what you shared, here are the key issues mentioned: Illegible Documents: The copies of your bank statements and several other documents were of poor image quality and contained illegible sections. This prevented proper verification of account details and transaction histories. Lack of Verifiability: An electronic verification method (such as a bank-issued portal or verifiable MyBankStatement ticket) was not provided. Inability to Confirm Details: Due to poor legibility and lack of verifiable information, the officer could not reliably confirm balances, dates, payors, or the source of deposits. Anything related to financial documentation is very delicate in any immigration profile. It’s best that he spends the money to consult a licensed immigration professional who can pinpoint exactly where the issue lies and guide him on how to fix it. https://register.college-ic.ca/Public-Register-EN/RCIC_Search.aspx

mcsugk:IRCC generally expects you (the applicant) to show enough money to cover your living expenses and your children’s expenses, in addition to supporting your spouse while she studies. I do not know the exact amount, but to be on the safe side, having around $40,000 CAD should be more than enough in my opinion, since with two kids, expenses can add up quickly. Hopefully, your wife is working her allowed 24 hours per week to help support the family application ....she can submit her T4 and pay stubs as proof of employment and income to support application |

1. Yes I is verifiable (remember to scan it clearly) 2. Yes it is refundable 3. You can set up a GIC with a Canadian bank. The funds must be transferred from the students domicillary account in Nigeria to the GIC/Canadian bank to avoid long stories (try not to do any shortcut here please) All the best. esosa4real: |

esosa4real:Don’t make a simple situation look complex and if I was the visa officer I would have denied you too because the submission was clumsy. Here are my reasons: 1. Inability to submit a legible statement, compression will make it blurred, deterring the officer from making an informed decision. Solution is to use mybankstatement 2. If you have that sufficient cash as indicated in the account statement, nothing should hinder you from paying at least one year school fees and a GIC. To address this, pay one year fees then let your spouse Open a GIC with the student’s details but fund it on his/her behalf using a wire transfer and should show the transaction trail though. The visa will be granted most likely if addressed in this manner. |

Profgordons:Thank you. I am going to contact the school this AM and figure out the payment of his school fees ASAP. I am hoping it's refundable. About GIC, his sister here in Canada has CIBC, is that whom she needs to contact? Or are there known Canadian banks that do this effortlessly and easy? Also, his Dad who is sponsoring has a Naira account at Zenith, can he do this wire transfer? Thanks. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Profgordons(m): 3:15pm On Nov 03, 2025 |
esosa4real:So I will offer you a reliable solution, firstly, all tuitions are refundable if the applicant is unable to secure a visa. The issue with GIC is that our ridiculous banks do not have a way to convert Naira to USD for transactions such as this, usually one will buy inflow from the black market which is quite difficult to explain. I believe some people also use some investment apps. To solve it, he will need a domiciliary account, I will advice opening it with the same Zenith as I’ve used them recently, withdraw Naira, buy USD and deposit as cash in his name, he should also keep the teller as proof. With this he can Initiate the first tranche of GIC, the single limit with our banks is $10k USD a day so the GIC amount must match $10k USD. After this is received by CIBC there will be an option to add deposit, he can then proceed to initiate the second tranche to make up the total required for living expenses. A second way is to send you the Naira and do a gift deed covering that amount and stating it is for your child’s living expenses. Then use an app like CAD Remit or Lemfi to transfer all the sum into your Canadian account then add the bank statement after it reflects as proof of funds. It gives the visa officer comfort that the funds are genuine. |

Canada will undertake a new program to transition up to 33,000 work permit holders to permanent residence over 2026 and 2027 in the upcoming Immigration Levels Plan, according to Budget 2025. The Plan will also include several other major changes: Reducing the temporary resident admissions target for 2026 to 385,000, down 43% from 673,650 for 2025. The target for international student admissions for 2026 will be 155,000, down 49% from 305,900 for 2025. The target for admissions of temporary foreign workers will be 230,000—a decrease of 37% from the 2025 target of 367,750, but an increase of 8% from the 2026 target of 210,700 in last year's Immigration Levels Plan. Granting permanent resident status to eligible Protected Persons in Canada over the next two years. |

sam1000000:We see this issue far too often the truth is, your agent hasn’t been honest with you. I’m quite sure your fiancé visa case was decided earlier this year, likely within the first four months. However, because the fake documents submitted by the unlicensed Facebook agent led to a 5 years ban, the agent hasn’t told you anything and is hiding the truth. Tell your fiancé to use his visa application details from the biometric paper to request a GCMS note and see for himself do not inform the agent of this that’s the next step he should take |

Hello all. It's been a long time since I followed this thread (I was very active in 2020). Quick question, does it still apply that once an applicant gets the medical request, their application is likely to be approved? Are there any new developments that contradict this view? |

Is it normal to submit study permit application without receiving Submission confirmation on my dashboard. Only confirmation of online application transmission was seen. It is over three hours now. |
