God Bless The Igbo Exposers by absoluteSuccess(op):
In the video shared about the ongoing killings in the middle belt on YouTube, it's pertinent to save this mindset or myopic point of view of the ongoing issue for the records.

I will encourage us to see things for what they are, and thank God they speak Yoruba in the video and the opinion is of the commentators, not in anyway sponsored. But the very same opinion cut across and completely failed to do justice to the problem as it pretend to want to.

Now the essence of sharing this is the fact that, this very sentiment is shared among the Yoruba m****m, and some don't just see the recklessness of their sentiments just yet.

Of course some people are unaware of what is called "emotional intelligence". If the Fulani militia are "ajagungbale", and you describe the people who own the land as people in the firing line of the Fulani militia, that's a building up of abetting with the idea that “might is right”.

Then the same commentator concluded that the Fulani militia are clashing with settlers because of climate change. The west has punched a hole in that narrative. How has this very claim been proven beyond reasonable doubt?

The same mouth which says that the militia started their carnage from Borno because it was not conquered during Othman Dan Fodiyo Jihad switch to climate change when the bandit and Fulani militia got involved in the same thing happening earlier in Borno against Western education.

So it's Western education in Borno, it's grassland and climate change in Benue, what will it become when it gets to Ilorin? It will change its nomenclature there too, and on and on, it will clear up the middle belt and build up a launchpad to get to the entire south under another name in decades to come.

You will fight tooth and nail that it's not a religious war as you are doing now, but a time is coming that you will run, wishing you had put out the fire on the mountains of plateau when it was first kindled. Today you are protecting your religion instead of it to protect you, you are fighting for Allah instead of him to fight for you.

Oluwo shared a video of his visit to a meeting at Abuja and in spite of his allegiance to the Fulani, the sitting emirs in the video did not accord him much respect as did Jonathan and Obasanjo. One did not even bother to shake hands with him.

Again, I pray for the Igbo nation, who have been vehemently noising the ongoing carnage in all social media, being the voice of the voiceless minorities, that God will always stand by them and will be their help in time of need.

Today you think you are safe, but the killers are encroaching upon you while you were thinking "no it's the minority they were attacking because, because". You don't know that those minorities are your outposts planted in the fringes by your ancestors and are therefore your kindreds to defend.

But big for nothing slaves of brainwash that ought to protect their neighbors are protecting foreign ideologies they can't exploit to better the lives of their countrymen. They don't have anything from the merciful God other than firepower to wrestle people's inheritance away from them at the expense of human lives. Why is your God subservient of foreign gods?

Eleduwa means "the Sustainer of existence". Interpret the name of the foreign gods you are shielding from scandal and let's see what they means? And you want to tell me they have a better information from God than what your ancestors used to build a civilization that has made it possible for you to come to existence?

While I don't support any form of violence, but to comment on the killings on the East, I will like you to understand that the Igbo race are a peculiar people from the little time I've been in this world. I know they do challenge their fears.

Although it has nothing to do with it, but when China was trying to industrialize, it suffered self imposed trauma to the extent that there's nothing the people don't eat, but today, the country is out of the woods.

Did Japan not lord it over Chinese before the country decided to take it's destiny by it's own hands? So whatever is the ongoing issue in the East, that's for the time being, it's the land of the rising sun of the black race. It shall be a land that the enemy will not rule over direct.

Except you want to argue that nothing is going on in the middle belt or I'm not supposed to talk about it. By the way, I have right to pray for the Igbo as long as it's my prayer.

You brought igbos into the thread. It's there in the title. You made it look as if the ibos have done something spectacular for the middle belt people in trying to help them(I still don't know what they have done sha) with their insecurity problem. What I merely pointed out is that if the ibos were so adept at helping with this kind of issue, how come they have become incompetent in handling theirs? Except you want to argue that nothing is going on in the East

if the killing going on the south east is the same proportion of killing going on in the other parts of the country then it means Nigeria security is good. As a matter of fact there wont be a cry of Christian genocide.
Please tell me any occasion where a south east governor called for peace meetings between them and the non-state actors who brandish AK 47? When was the last time villages was ransacked and the peoples land taken over and renamed in the southeast.?

If one life is lost to any act of terrorism, it is one life too many. The nonsense we have in the north also started gradually. The northerners were also romancing their terrorists the same way you downplay the menace of ugm and ipob.

That one is nothing and if anything but self imposed. The people keeping themselves indoors or the others keeping them indoors are their own people.

It reminds of Mohatma Ghandi and the British empire during the colonial era. The British has their rules and the Indians decided to have civil disobedience to British rules.

In the united nations charter, there's room for self actualization. As long as they are trying to do this within the confines of law and not go on killing spree or undermine the right of other Nigerians it's left to the government of the day and the elders of the concerned geopolitical zone to have a dialogue with her own people as a confederating unit of the federal republic.

That's totally different from direct assault that's precipitating before our very eyes that we seems to be taking as other people's problem instead of being our collective problem.

Say no to forceful annexation of the middle belt by terrorists. If Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa were to be a country on their own, and the middle belt is a country, they will be a great fool to fold hands and watch the middle belt perish because it's not within their borders.

They are an entity within Nigeria, shame on them if they will fold their hands and watch while the middle belt perish.

Pardon my grammar

The fact that most of Kanu’s supporters are shocked the broadcasts used to charge him exist is pure cognitive dissonance.

Many of you heard those orders live when he told anyone who came out on sit-at-home days to be killed. “You know we love dead bodies” , his words, verbatim. “I decide who lives and who di es” , verbatim. “I will go to Abuja and bring back the head of Buhari” , verbatim.

When he ordered prison breaks, ambushes on police, kpaing of officers and military, and his terr0rists came on air to report it, none of you went to stop him.

When he ordered the May 31 sit-at-home and warned that even old women coming out to fend for their children’s stomachs would be kpaid on the spot, you heard it. None of you said a word. Imaro na owu crime that you consigned, funded, and cheered.

And the iti akwus who come now to gaslight us with “IPOB was non-violent till Python Dance” so non-violent that they set Orsu, Umuaka, Lili, Achala and Okigwe ablaze. Call it what it was, terror, arson, bl0odshed. We will not let you excuse it.

When Kanu went on air ordering the kpaing of anyone who disobeyed him, and later boasted he could stop insecurity in the Southeast in two minutes, that was posturing for a political solution, a threat designed to force concessions. He wanted governors to come negotiate on his behalf “so peace would return” on his terms.

That’s why his people started pointing at terr0rists in the North, an ironic, telling diversion. They moved from denying he was a terr0rist to demanding that their terrorist be negotiated with.

Kanu said repeatedly that to get Biafra they would turn the “zoo” into a place worse than Sudan. When you heard that, where did you think he meant? Who were the intended victims? Who would be used as shields?

When he said “we will draw the zoo army to our land and annihilate them” how did you imagine that drawing happening? Through singing praise and worship? By singing the Biafran anthem? No, he meant ambushes, bloodshed, and using civilian bodies as shields on Igbo soil.

You lot cannot pretend to be outraged now after cheering the vi0lence and expect anyone to take you seriously.

You cannot demand his release to “calm the land” when he is the one who set it on fire.

The recordings didn’t make him guilty, his own words did. And you heard them.

And the law said he had a case to answer.

Stop performing surprise. Quit the faux outrage. Own what you cheered.

Look at every community ESN boys and Umuoma Kanu invaded, how non-peaceful they now are. That is the Biafran liberation he promised. Are you impressed?

What you have posted validates my point. If the quote here was dropped by an Igbo person, that very person in question is the other extreme of Nnamdi Kanu that exists in Igbo land. I'm sure you know there's always two extremes in every human society where freedom of expression exists?

You can't stamp one of the extremes on the people as what they all stand for, even if one extreme is in the majority. The purpose of a sane society made up of multifaceted identities and ideologies is for the central government to work so hard to manage the marriage that no section of the mix will be able to feel underserved.

Of course in my own limitations as a member of the same society, I know it's not possible to have this kind of perfection in totality, if we agree to that, we have made room for dissenters and well meaning people to expose our shortcomings from the inequalities at the forefront of our national consciousness, we'll also have people from here to threaten fire and brimstone because their needs were not met as deemed fit.

Now if the very people who are in the forefront of fighting for their rights to quality existence they imagined possible did so much to have their way, they might actualize their dreams and nothing has been casted in stone that a people do not deserve self rule, before, now, or never will. Something they feel insecured about must have triggered their agitations? What's the threat? Has it been dealt with and they still remain defiant?

As Yoruba, I agree with Awo, that a secession clause should be inserted in the constitution, going by the look of things. Who was Awo afraid of? Has the fear of the time been lost to the generations afterwards? I also defer to Zik, that we can burn our bridges and believe this Nigeria project will work. Am I confused? No, I'm just being divergent in my choices, I have given room enough to allow the interplay of all extremes that could possibly be., believing that the future will create leaders that will be capable enough to deal with all crises that the future will spur.

In this, I am not a slave of the past, it's gone for good. I'm just a hardline student of history. Now my Igbo brothers have done “all sorts of killings” so to say, but the same people are the ones shouting the loudest now for the killings going on in the middle belt. Wait, could these inequalities be the same thing that is inspiring their own agitation for a country of their own to protect their future generations? Please what legislation do you have against futuristic thinking? Are the people shouting the same people confirmed to be behind killings in the East?

The ideologies of African founding fathers were city states, the ideology of our colonial masters was originally an all-inclusive sprawling Commonwealth of their Empires that eventually became independent countries due to their own resources spread thin enough to breaking point of WWI&II, couple with the advent and defiance of the freedom fighters that colonialism created, from where statements like "Zambia must be free" came from. But there is still an underground ideologies ongoing and as such, there's always going to be reactions to it moving forward.

The most visible growing ideology around the world is the ideology of Islam, which is to rule over mankind through religion. The ideology of the Christianity is to make heaven. These two are completive and mutually exclusive. One however allowed for forceful takeover, which is radical Islam. With that, Christianity seems to be an ideology on the way of Islam.

Now if the Igbo have been the loudest people exposing the genocide going on in the middle belt, then they are a people most likely to be, they are a people most likely to love freedom than most people in Nigeria. They are a people who have a lot to lose if the evil going on eventually become all engulfing, they are an African people who still have their society intact as a unit, the worst religious battle will be fought in that country, God forbid if they are to be confronted with the incoming fundamental Islam to the Maghreb.

This is because the Igbo has said over time that they were Jews and you and I definitely know what that means. I don't know of an older source of genealogical history than a written one spanning a millennial that they adhere to as Christians. The Quran did not have a similar span. Now in the scenario where the Jews of Africa meet the fundamental Islam marching to the Maghreb, nobody prays for the consequences. So the Igbo must be the most concerned about the plight of the people of the middle belt.

Already, the Yoruba have been completely immersed with Islam so much that it's just a matter of time before they all become Muslims. Otherwise there's no known Yoruba agenda. We only have the need to be stewards of power and that has been settled. Next is to japa to just any country where a university certificate can earn us a decent livelihood. While we're clueless about what's going on, it's okay to mock the Igbo just to look better and get Kobo Kobo likes that satisfies our dopamine on nairaland and other social media sites switching the narrative to sound wise as long as Igbo is mentioned.

I don't have any grudge against the Yoruba Muslim ummah, or my beautiful Hausa and Fulani neighbors. I will support them to have Sharia in the most densely Islamic states, but when it comes to Fulani militia taking over Hausa land or the middle belt, I know they have a dilemma that their faith has shown them where their sentiments must be, I also understand the insatiable nature of man who makes power their birthright at the expense of peace.

This is my own voice in time like this. The only people who could be heard are the people who don't identify with the people in power. Only fools will want a story told from one point of view that comes from the source that is not doing enough or is complicit in the narrative.

don't mind him dear. Do you know that it is still the igbos that are most vocal against the killings in the southeast even here on nairaland. While others mock us, we kept pushing and fighting it. That's why many of us did not and will never support Nnamdi Kanu type of Biafra. Some of us here include , Tochi, proudly omoina, paramakina, ejiofor , myself , ijele speaks etc
That's just it, there's something beneath that's triggering agitation and it has to be addressed.

Now the middle belt have not been agitating and they are being slaughtered, shall we ignore their cries or mock anyone because they have done similar thing on themselves in the past or deal with whatever is going on now?

Who knows maybe this is the "handwriting on the wall" that is causing the strive that created the ugm, when people became disillusioned in the security architecture of their country.

Imagine where everyone is expected to keep quiet and allow the government and the people who are in the north be the only ones talking about what's going on?

You want Muslim Muslim ticket, you have it, you still want to silence people saying Muslims are the ones killing Muslims and Christians alike.

If foreign Muslim militias are the ones killing Muslims and Christians, why don't the liberal Muslims ask for help abroad to stop the killings of Muslims and then the powerless christians in their domain? Would that have been a crime?

Is it that the life of the dieing Muslims does not deserve to be saved by any power possible?

Long read.
Well, you are still speaking from both sides of the mouth to justify your initial point of trying to put the ibos on a pedestal they don't belong.
Ok, let me ask you: with the benefit of hindsight, whose idea do you think would have favoured Nigerians today-- Awo's or Zik's? WHAT Awo saw sitting down, Zik and his Igbo people did not see it even after climbing an iroko tree. grin

And for you to say Islam is so pervasive in Yoruba land to the extent that all Yorubas would soon become Muslims shows that you are either not a Yoruba man as you claim or you are just one of those extreme Yoruba obidients. How many Yorubas have you seen converting from Christianity to Islam? The reverse is actually the case.

So your point is moot. The igbos didn't expose anything about the killings in the north. The exposure was done by the media in Nigeria, both old media and new media, and both are even more in the control of Yorubas than any other tribe in Nigeria. See nairaland and Punch for example. The major work was done by the persecuted Christians in the north themselves who never kept quiet.

What the ibos have done is to inflict gratuitous pain and killings upon themselves. And I think that's even worse in moral terms than its northern equivalent. For how can you start killing your own people and stopping them from going to work on Mondays just because you want to prove a point? How can a whole region listen to a demented half-educated megalomaniac in the person of kanu?

Bro, I get you this time around, you are in competition with the Igbo, you are competing from "we're better than the Igbo" mentality. I have nothing to do with such competition.

Please can there ever be a time you guys will talk about something that unites us as humans and not be partisan? Isn't empathy better than pettiness when people's lives are lost enmass?

This is my last response to you sir, I thank God you just told me more Yoruba are converting to Christianity, neither you nor myself have statistics to back our claim on this.

I wander who will decide on national level in years to come, maybe it's these new converts or the entrenched power brokers. I'm not interested in your politics sir, just let the world know about the ongoing killings.

I like to ask, point me to your thread as a Nigerian from any ethnicity talking about the ongoing killings in the middle belt before this thread was made.

That's to show you care for life than politics where you are driving this conversation from start because Igbo was mentioned. Kindly prove me wrong by telling the world about the rampaging Islamic militias.

Thanks.

You are confused. What's my business with competing with ibos? The ibos are the ones competing with the north in murdering their own people and spreading fear on their own land. The purpose and essence of your thread are things I easily deciphered and put the lie to.
Double speak will not mask your intention properly brother.
