Ademola Lookman really battling emotional war with Atalanta, as he deletes every post regarding his club on instagram….omo no wonder he is not performing at all, omo no b to injure physically oo, just don’t pray your fave player is not injured emotionally, it will show on the pitch oo….see i will suggest he still come from the bench against Gabon and let Chukwu/Simon start abeg….Lookman is not psychologically sound for now
Honestly it’s terrible it’s now I appreciate better all what osihmen went through in the hands of Napoli.

Ademola needs the nff now I hope they are rallying around him with all emotional support he needs.

Sharp lineup, but Semi Ajayi for Awaziem 🙏🏾
Since Ajayi won't be available due to suspension and Ekong form is issue, then Frederick should go back to his CB role to pair Bassey...in the absence of Aina,Osayi the deputy should start.... Awaziem is my favorite talking ball playing defender but defensively I don't trust him

Playing in the MLS shouldn't be the sole criteria to measure a player's quality.

A key battle our defenders will face against Gabon will come from Bouanga who is an MLS player.

home boy is northern representative for the super eagles. I wonder are there not better players in the north than Ahasasan Yusuf. All due respect anybody playing in the American soccer league should never be in the super eagles
you people keep saying this rubbish even though he’s not a bad player

Let's be sincere with ourselves alhasan Yusuf has never be a bad player, he was even one of our best player in the last Afcon. I guess the coach still rate him base on what the coach is seeing in camp

chidera Ejuke has been invited for the playoffs,
I hope he delivers same way yamal does for Spain since he's supposedly better than yamal cheesy
Defending has evolved so much that implementing passing sequences alone may not be enough to create the needed gaps or spaces for shooting at goal.

You need players of skill who can shoot from outside the box and whose movements with the ball can take out players.

Chidera Ejuke and Lamine Yamal are such players.

Chidera Ejuke is quality. It is left for his minders to believe in him and be patient.

Was thinking our X factor was going to be Akinsanmiro, guess Ejuke will do just fine as well.

Who should have been invited in his stead?
The brief answer is None.

Unpopular opinion here, but I'd say he's more deserving than Olusegun for instance. My memory could be compromised here so correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I can recall him putting up a strong showing at the last AFCON in the group stages before he got injured.

Compare this to Olusegun who was bang average in his first outing.
I agree with you. That Olakunle, Odegbami was heaping praises on him in the course of his interview with Chelle. He's just a speedster. There's room for competition in all departments of our team.

Players like Abdullah, Olakunle, Osayi, Awaziem, are replaceable.

Source is the Super Eagles verified X handle. So its genuine.

Again. midfield is too lean with only 5 midfielders - Ndidi, Iwobi, Onyeka, Onyedika, Alhassan. 7 midfielders is the ideal number.

Maybe Akinsanmiro was initially on the list and the injury last night necessitated his removal but still, he ought to have been replaced by another midfielder. Chrisantus Uche, Anthony Dennis of Goztepe and David Moses of Slavia Prague are the obvious choices.

8 forwards is excessive. At least one of the spots should have gone to the midfield.

Happy with the inclusion of Chidera Ejuke. He gives us options as he can play on the right or as in inverted winger on the left.

Olakunle Olusegun has done nothing both at clubside and the National team to warrant being in the squad. The fact his name is always last in the squad list when it is released speaks volume. His spot should have gone to a midfielder.

All in all, it's not a bad list but it could have been much better and balanced with more midfield options cause that's the engine room of a team, and where play is dictated, and battles are won and lost in matches.
Looks like he will be implementing 4-4-2.

Nice to see Childera Ejuke on the list.

Ejuke is one of those players who can operate as a CAM, with his take-ons and abilities in one vs one situations.

Top quality addition.Hope we get to see him play.
Yess oo.

I tell you my brother. He fit be NFF pikin
He's a good player but what's the need to invite him consistently and not use him. That's how Uche Agbo was always getting invited during Rohr's time and he never got to play.

NFF must just do their show of shame in everything about football in 9ja

NFF projects ethnical inclusion in list of players, making the coach include northern names, eastern players and western players instead of choosing the best players he deems fit

until NFF is overhauled and cleansed we keep going round same issues, much activities but no improvement

That speed is the selling point for that player and I think it’s what Chelle likes. You know many of our players na slowbie

Decent lineup.

For Benjamin and Awaziem to swap places. Feel more at peace when Fredrick in the CB position. Chidozie should just do a job for us at RB.

Frank and Ndidi just don't compliment each other so it would probably be Alex to partner with either of the two in the middle.

Lookman wouldn't be a starter for me. Best coming off the bench till he's mentally settled. Moses Simon and Chukwueze to man both wings.

Akor to partner Victor in attack.

CapitalCee:
Eric Chelle must use this lineup agaisnt Gabon for Solidity. When Ajayi returns he replaces Awaziem.

Second half bring in Moses Simon and Frank Onyeka to shore up the team. And may be Akor for Lookman in the dying minutes

Chidera Ejuke is a good recall. I only hope we get to see the more teamwork-oriented Ejuke I have seen this season so far. Truth is on his day, he can change the momentum of a game.

No Christantus Uche is justified. The gifted lad has not been getting the sort of gametime that earns invites for such big games. Also Chelle still has not figured him out.
Frank Onyeka doesnt get much gametime too but still has 80 more EPL mins than Uche this season plus he has the merit of being an integral part of the team especially a key player at the last afcon before Chelle showed up.

Ebenezer Akinsanmiro would have made the list but for the injury he picked up yesterday. Really miffed at this but his time will inevitably come.

GK dept is okay. No complaints.

Defence has everyone I was expecting to see. Good to see Awaziem back. Pls Semi misses the Gabon game. I am sure the technical crew has taken note.

Midfield has 5 names including an Onyedika who gave us an injury scare in the UCL. Good to see it is not so serious. The midfield are all regular faces and with injuries to FDB and potential Akin, no complaints.

The Attack... Solid.
3CFs.. Osimhen, Akor, Tolu
LW... Simon
RW... Chukwueze, Olakunle
LW/RW... Ejuke
SS/LW... Lookman

And I hope Chelle considers Ejuke ahead of Olakunle Olusegun as one of the wing options off the bench. I cap not when I agree with Meliforme's analysis on Ejuke being a genuine game changer and a winger capable of producing chances-creating actions and shots-creating actions.

In all, nothing surprising on the list. Just the squad that should get the job done.

Happy weekend.

Anglo Nigerian Midfielder, David Ozoh, 20yrs now, played only 10mins before going off injured for Derby County in the Championship game vs Ryan Alebiosu's Blackburn Rovers.
Ozoh had started 9 of 12 league games before today.

Ryan Alebiosu starts by the way. Blackburn down 1-0 with 34mins played.
