Bossoflife25:even your prediction against Benin has an element caution and fear…you don’t believe we could maul them by the required 4goals to topple burkina faso…you 2-0 simply mean we cant break into the playoff… Gabon cannot be our biggest threat..you see that DRC/Cam thats where spilling of blood will be…cos any team in that stage is as good as qualified to the world cup, if any of Nigeria,DRC,Cameroon wins the playoffs they will just have 1 match against a minnow country to play in the intercontinental playoffs….Gabon will give us SA vibe and we drew that SA match due to absence of Osimhen and early injury to Aina |

i really dont know why this Gabon game is not freaking me like the Nigeria vs Benin and the outcome of SA vs Rwa….i was highly tensed that last month…. i could remember at the afcon when we where about meeting Cameroon my body was vibrating with fear, after the game i wasn’t freaked about the Quarterfinals vs Angola, but my trembling returned when we were to meet SA |

Lol! I predicted we will defeat Benin and South Africa will draw Rwanda which is normal going by the results of the previous match by those countries. Our main threat will be Gabon does not equate to we will lose to Gabon! lol minfelix: |

if Eric Chelle intends to implement 4-4-2, Ejuke and Chukwueze should start on the left and on the right respectively If Eric Chelle intends to implement 4-3-3, then Moses Simon and Lookman should start. In a 4-4-2, you need wingers who can also slot in as midfielders. who: have good control of the ball, can progress the ball, can make good passes of the ball and can provide good defensive cover. In the qualities mentioned above, Ejuke, Chukwueze and Iwobi are the top picks. Moses Simon and Ademola Lookman are arguably our most lethal wingers, they are most lethal when played in the final phases of an attack. They do not have the level of control of the ball when compared to Ejuke, Iwobi and Chukwueze, to be fully involved in a patient build up to goal. This is very easy to see and one of the reasons why we should not prioritise possession based football if we are to win a game. If we are to utilise 4-3-3, Moses Simon and Ademola Lookman must start, supported by three midfielders who should be creative enough to know when to release the ball to them to finish the move or assist in finishing the move. |

minfelix:I'm not saying we will defeat Gabon by 4 goals o, but i think Benin presents a more formidable opposition to Nigeria compared to Gabon |

minfelix:Really? Lol. I kinda knew we would whoop Cameroon in the R of 16 last year sha. I remember they were piss poor coming off the group stages. I was only really worried about Angola. They had a really good run before they met us. I wasn't worried about SA before we faced them but they surprised me with their performance. I know I was also nervous going into the finals but I can't decide if it was because of Ivory Coast as a team or just the overall nervous excitement of getting to the AFCON finals. |

If we are using 4-4-2, Ademola Lookman should pair Victor Osimhen. This is the best combo from my perspective and understanding of the players in camp. Another good combination is Alex lwobi and Victor Osimhen. Alhassan Yusuf should pair Wilfred Ndidi in the middle. |

Toylove:The way we will cruise pass that Gabon eehn, e go shock people…the cruising here na just give them 2-0 and move on…Eric Chelle super eagles is a deadly one with or without osimhen, his major bane is our defensive errors against Zim,Lesotho and SA….so far oo i just have lil form of relaxation with his team…even the midfield people are always gnashing teeth here on is very good and formidable….go and watch super eagles highlights since eric chelle took over, then you will ask why have not been stamping teams with 3-0,4-0,5-0 on match days -against Ghana at Unity Cup(it was tense 60-40 game) -against Jamaica, chukwueze was just mesmerizing that midfield free role(but our defense was just conceding) -against Zimbabwe in uyo, why we didn’t beat those guys 4-0 still baffles me -against Rwanda in kigali, we pinned and press there neck tire and fold 2blows on their face -against Rwanda in uyo, Ntwari turn to prime buffon, cos that game we pin their papa till final whistle -against Lesotho same thing, it was towards the end our defense and nwabali decide to snooze -against SA in Al-shabab pitch, even without Osimhen we played them clean clean -let me not talk about Benin… just calm down go and watch extensive highlights of these matches and see how Chelle teams is playing deadly….. IFFA HEAR SAY I SHAKE FOR GABON MAE I BEND, those ones wey Gambia wan kill for banjul |

QueenJazz:omo our rivalry with cameroon unending ooo…. You see anytime a rival match is looming it’s always dicey and trembling oo Nig vs Gha Nig vs Cam Nig vs SA(currently, though not regarded as our rival, but they are now forcing it) so it always create tension Nig vs CIV(though not much of a rival fixture, but you know CIV are also africa’s heavy weight) so there are some matches that cant freak me at all |

Mujtahida:it depends on the team we are facing sha…in tournaments rival teams usually get the better of us…check all the teams that defeated us at afcon final or semifinal, you will see that they are teams that holds terrible rivalry with us….the 3afcons we have its only Algeria(that i will consider as a formidable team presently) the rest Zambia and B/faso pose no threat to us at crucial games….the game against Benin, i did over 4.5 in on my tickets na Rwanda scatter that ticket, i put x2 for them🤣 |

minfelix:Lol yh I get. Don't get me wrong, Cameroon have been our biggest rivals for a long time, but to be honest I feel like they've been a shell of their past selves over the past few years, almost like the SE. As for overall rivalries, I think Ghana is the only team I'm ALWAYS concerned about whenever our senior teams clash, because you can never really guess how the game will go as we're so similar in many ways. No side ever truly has the advantage over the other lol. I'm also jittery about North African teams for obvious reasons. Ivory Coast is often hit or miss like Cameroon but recently they've been on top form, so yes I guess facing them now would make me anxious. Although I'd be much more afraid of Senegal now. I still insist that fatigue was our undoing in the last AFCON finals. We'd have beaten Ivory Coast a second time. Even with the tired legs, we almost did. South Africa is a weird case because while they've been decent recently, I don't think they've ever really been able to punish us -- which is something a lot of our top rivals (Ghana, Cameroon) have been able to do occasionally. And that's why I don't always feel comfortable calling it a rivalry. A win rate of 90% isn't really a rivalry, speaking from statistics. Until they can beat us at least twice or thrice in the next 5-6 matches, I'll always look at SA games like Nigeria vs Argentina. We always play against each other, but no matter how tight that fixture is, or how good both teams play, you can almost always bet who'll come out on top lol. Highest na draw. But jokes aside, as a Super Eagles fan these days, it's easy to be jittery about literally ANY team we face, even if it's Botswana, because of how unexpectedly disappointing our performance can be sometimes. Who would have thought that we would lose to Central Africa Republic or Rwanda, for instance? Or draw with Zimbabwe in a crucial World Cup qualifying match? So I totally understand why people would be afraid of Gabon. |

Eric Chelle managed to pull this team from the catacombs of missing a 2nd straight world cup and has given us a new lease on life with this playoff route. And the best NFF can give the team is a dilapidated hotel? I honestly hope Iwobi is joking and that the hotel itself is decent ![]() |

if we can have 6 of our players firing on all cylinders , trust me we will be at the WC .... Currently we have Osimhen , Fredrick , Akor Adams ....we need more 3 players in that spirit ,others will catch up , then we are good to go .... |

Make Una humble for this play off o, after we beat everybody then we fit make mouth but for now caution is the approach. Our boys won 4-0 against Benin because they wanted to prove a point to a lot of people including me who have almost given up on the World Cup dream. I think our boys know when we don’t really expect much from them and that ginger them the more to go all the way but when we praise them too much ahead of a crucial encounter then often we see complacency so my suggestion will be caution to everyone and let the eagles know we still want them to continue to shut the mouth of critics and pessimists! |
