This whole fiasco about the video Iwobi posted is pissing me off.

In the first place, maybe it's just me, but the players should be neck deep in preparation for the two games we're having this week because they're do-or-die games. The video would have made more sense if the accomodation was terrible, but as we've learnt from multiple sources, it isn't. I'm not sure what Iwobi's intentions were by posting that video, but it's just causing a whole lot of mess online and people are still insisting sef that the video of Rive Hotel journalists filmed is fake.

I just hope these boys are taking this camp serious and are not feeling too comfortable. Una go think say Gabon no be problem until we're down by 1-0 or 2-0 and there's no way to comeback by the 88th minute (god forbid sha)

Abeg, abeg, we need to be focused on Gabon and leave all these useless distractions.

Lol yh I get.

Don't get me wrong, Cameroon have been our biggest rivals for a long time, but to be honest I feel like they've been a shell of their past selves over the past few years, almost like the SE.

As for overall rivalries, I think Ghana is the only team I'm ALWAYS concerned about whenever our senior teams clash, because you can never really guess how the game will go as we're so similar in many ways. No side ever truly has the advantage over the other lol.

I'm also jittery about North African teams for obvious reasons.

Ivory Coast is often hit or miss like Cameroon but recently they've been on top form, so yes I guess facing them now would make me anxious. Although I'd be much more afraid of Senegal now. I still insist that fatigue was our undoing in the last AFCON finals. We'd have beaten Ivory Coast a second time. Even with the tired legs, we almost did.

South Africa is a weird case because while they've been decent recently, I don't think they've ever really been able to punish us -- which is something a lot of our top rivals (Ghana, Cameroon) have been able to do occasionally. And that's why I don't always feel comfortable calling it a rivalry. A win rate of 90% isn't really a rivalry, speaking from statistics.

Until they can beat us at least twice or thrice in the next 5-6 matches, I'll always look at SA games like Nigeria vs Argentina. We always play against each other, but no matter how tight that fixture is, or how good both teams play, you can almost always bet who'll come out on top lol. Highest na draw.

But jokes aside, as a Super Eagles fan these days, it's easy to be jittery about literally ANY team we face, even if it's Botswana, because of how unexpectedly disappointing our performance can be sometimes. Who would have thought that we would lose to Central Africa Republic or Rwanda, for instance? Or draw with Zimbabwe in a crucial World Cup qualifying match?

So I totally understand why people would be afraid of Gabon.
🔥🔥❤️🙏onpoint

Iwobi posted another video clarifying his intention wasn't malicious. This however doesn't change the fact that the hotel isn't where the Super Eagle's should be lodge. I'll admit it wasn't as bad as initially thought, but it also isn't great. Just a quick search on Google will show multiple bad reviews from other users. The hotel apparently has a night club that blasts music into the night, that isn't the kind of environment the players should be in. I would hope the NFF would have spoken to the hotel management about this.

Of more importance in my opinion is the fact that the video released shows the hotel has molds on the ceiling. Molds are hazardous and could potentially affect the health of players.

I really hope we play a 4-3-3 against Gabon. Onyedika, Iwobi and Ndidi in that midfield three.

This match will be like a cup final. No second chance. It will be cagey. A lot of carefulness. But SE will carry d day once they keep finding Osimhen at the far post. His head will give SE the victory.

It seems you take your well-being and security as a joke ??

You have men put together that are worth billions and they shouldn’t be worried about a rural area with mediocre security

Osimhen,Bassey and Onyeka are our tested warriors.
Fredrick is very dependable,
Akor is yet to be well tested.
I wish Ola Aina is available, very dependable player.
Intelligent full backs are needed for accurate crosses to Osimhen .
Chukwueze is a player who should have been helping Osimhen upfront but I don't understand him.

Osimhen need a warrior partner upfront in the mould of Amokachi against African oppositions.

My own question is , which hotel did the Gabonese team lodge at? Same hotel ?

I heard the hotel is a 4 star one, if it is really a 4 star hotel in a very touristy country like Morocco then it ought be good.

The environment where the hotel is located seems to be a residential area where residential apartments is closely backing the hotel. Perhaps reasons why iwobi dropped his cryptic story.

According to "Football Meets Data"...

We have 🇳🇬 Nigeria favored to reach 🧩Inter-confederation Playoffs as 🌍 African representatives.

But only as relative favorites at 33%.

👇 Here are the probabilities in the African WC PlayOffs semifinals:

66% 🇳🇬 Nigeria
34% 🇬🇦 Gabon

53% 🇨🇩 Congo DR
47% 🇨🇲 Cameroon

So your logic is: they are worth a lot, therefore they shouldn't focus on the actual reason they're there?

Oga this is not a luxury retreat! We didn't come here for jokes. It's not a permanent residence. Everyone involved has confirmed that there are training facilities on ground and the accomodation is close to the facility and the stadium! Wetin u come dey find again?!?

So if they had given them to one they give to the Super Falcons for their game in the last WAFCON finals, what would you have done? Gone home?

No wahala. Keep worrying about the hotel. The playoffs is not important. You hear?! It's not important at all. Mtcheww

Hahaha reading the debacle of iwobi and the hotel room. Nigerians needs to understand that foreign bred and raised people are raised to be honest and blunt. Iwobi made that video innocently without thinking of the backlash. Focus on Thursday and still up super eagles till the wheels fall off. Nigeria 2-0 Gabon bookmark this post.

Interesting thing is all four teams have a proven striker in their ranks.

Aubameyang for Gabon
Bakambu for DRC
Mbeumo for Cameroon
Osimhen for Nigeria

Though Osimhen is way above them.
