Something tells me of a truth Lookman , Akor, Chukwueze and Osimhen should start or even keep Osimhen on the bench for 1st 25minutes such that if those guys(Lookman, Akor and Chukwueze) can't score against Gabon he should be introduced at the 25th minute. I say this against the backdrop of the fact that Coach Mouyouma of Gabon has his main plan as : CONTAINING OSIMHEN.
So if those 3 players should be on ground or the 3 plus Osimhen, Gabonese goalkeeper will concede more than 3 goals altogether in the game.

BankyGee, do you still remember your dream before we played Benin Republic about the penalty shoot-out? The dream is about to happen.

What is the scoreline in your dream?

In essence, waste one substitution because of what Mouyouma said?

As far as the wingers keep their full backs very occupied, Osimhen will always be free

That is not wasting in my opinion. It is destabilizing the Gabonese Coach while planning on what Osimhen will come on to do. This is only if you read my write up well to see the 2 suggestions. Either all 4 players I mentioned start or go with 3 and keep Osimhen on the Bench for the 1st 25minutes.

Obviously it is one of your suggestions I'm discussing.

Using one substitution just 25mins into a game is a waste as far as I'm concerned.

As Benin Republic that planned to cage Osimhen
Ask Ajax coach that planned to cage Osimhen

What was the story at the end

See am here o 😂

I had a nightmare today 😭

The Super Eagles were playing Benin, we were losing 2–1, then Osimhen hit the bar from outside the box, then one player like that, not our current player, but for the nightmare he sha play for us, his name is Renebeé (na wetin I see for the nightmare o), he came on and scored the equalizing goal. We come draw.

I was now calculating the table if we can still qualify, the next thing I see, na straight to penalties... Osimhen took the first and scored, Moffi scored, Ekong scored, Ndidi balloon him own go outside stadium...

My guy come wake me. I no come even know whether for the nightmare na Benin win the PSO or Nigeria... Headache just wan finish me this morning.

Not every one repeats the same pattern and succeeds. My point is 2-pronged. Either go for a deluge of goals for Nigeria with all 4 starting, or bring in Osimhen afterwards to disrupt whatever rhythm the Gabonese think they have in that match.

The thing is annoying really, the ones that are not asses put us in a situation where our chances of qualifying were already less than 12%, person come pick am increase am to 50% and you say he doesn't know "anything"... As how na?
Y
Even me do say it that the man's decision making is not perfect, but he has been learning from mistakes each match and correcting them while going and still didn't lose a game while doing so, people no sabi ball ni?
.

They either read the game from the back or running after mouse while watching d game of football.

I ve watched different highlights of Gabon matches , its seems they are not as good as what the paper make them look .... this match will end in 4-1 in Favour of Nigeria .... these Gabonese guys couldnt spring 2to 3 passes together . also a very bad defence ., not as bad as what Nwabali and Ekong made SE defence to look ... but in all ... SE is better off and we will be a very difficult nut to crack .

On paper and on the pitch, Nigeria is the stronger side. Gabon struggle with ball retention, defensive shape, and transitions — all things SE can punish them heavily.

Any of Cameroun or DR Congo will be difficult to beat in the finals. I just pray we thrash Gabon scoring 3 or more goals then work on set pieces to nail our next opponent.

Omo I'd rather we find a way to wrap things up in 90 minutes for this game, then against Cameroon or DRC, it can end in penalties.

How many times have Nigeria gone ahead to win a game in the next stage of the knockouts after playing penalties? 2006 and 2023 AFCON failures come to mind.

Besides, we need the boys in full strength going to the finals, unshackled by fatigue.

My two cents sha.

Alex Iwobi's Super Eagles Caps count

Iwobi's debut came in 2015 vs DR Congo in Belgium. An international friendly. He came off the bench under Coach Sunday Oliseh.

But this misinformation about 90caps ehn.

Pls, Iwobi will make his 88th cap come thursday and 89th when we make the Playoffs final on sunday. His 90th will most likely come during the Afcon.

This is why:

1. 2017 friendly vs Togo was nullified by FIFA (Check 2nd graphic below)

2. 2018 WCQs vs Algeria played in 2017 was also nullified by FIFA (we all know why but check 3rd graphic below. Same thing happened during Musa's initial run to 100 caps).

By the time Iwobi approaches the 100 caps in NFF Books, they will be corrected again. This shows they dont learn anything.

Something tells me that while we hopefully beat Gabon we should pray for a DR Congo triumph over Cameroun. That path might be straighter than meeting Cameroun.

Nigeria vs Gabon head to head: 5 times Super Eagles defeated the Panthers

As the Super Eagles of Nigeria prepare for a decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff against Gabon, history suggests they hold a clear advantage.
In nine previous encounters, Nigeria have claimed five victories, drawn three times, and suffered only one defeat to the Panthers.

The much-anticipated clash will take place on November 13 at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, with the winner advancing to the final African playoff round for a place at the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
