Osayi-Samuel vs Bouanga or Auba is a mismatch. I suspect (based on the recent call up list and his interview with Odegbami) that Chelle likes to play things safe (almost a little too safe), and stick to players he's familiar with. Awaziem is a much better right back than Osayi-Samuel.

Osayi should only come in when God willing the game has been more or less done and dusted to shore things up at the back.

Osimhen and the coach should be careful that the Gabonese don't pull a Rwandan stunt of eliminating him from the game through injury.

But men we really have to get out of this mental block of being unable to win a high-pressure match without Osimhen.

Awaziem hasn't played right back for us in a while. That would also be a risk.

Cameroon or DRC doesn't even scare me one bit! Those are the kind of games Super Eagles love playing. Once we overcome Gabon, I will just book my flight!

Osayi is not so bad that I'd put my money on Awaziem to start as RB sha

I ve watched different highlights of Gabon matches , its seems they are not as good as what the paper make them look .... this match will end in 4-1 in Favour of Nigeria .... these Gabonese guys couldnt spring 2to 3 passes together . also a very bad defence ., not as bad as what Nwabali and Ekong made SE defence to look ... but in all ... SE is better off and we will be a very difficult nut to crack .


On paper and on the pitch, Nigeria is the stronger side. Gabon struggle with ball retention, defensive shape, and transitions — all things SE can punish them heavily.

If ball possession win games, then Gabon is no problem.
Their motives are to hit us with counter attacks or capitalise on errors, and then lock their defense.
They have players that can sprint.
