Maybe we should forget the playoffs and come home. Let serious countries go and participate in the tournament.

The problem with Nigeria is that NFF no good but the shocking but hard to admit fact is that those complaining and condemning NFF too are no good. Put them there, they will do the same thing!

So whatever NFF does really doesn't bother me if not that this touches on the players welfare. Any body who has followed naija football, knows that perenially this issues of ineptitude and corruption, of unpaid bonuses and scandals dogs every administration of the NFF which proves my point.
I was in Secondary school reading newspapers and the complaints were the same. Presidents come and go yet the same problem persist. Does this not tell us something about ourselves which we often don't like to admit - namely that it is we ourselves - you, me, everyone else, without exception - who are the problem of Nigeria?

Someone will soon come and counter me now by saying me oo, I'm not corrupt.

JUST IN from Pooja;

National Sports Commission has weighed into the issues as they've cleared all the outstanding of the team before today but the issues at hand is not about the outstanding but special request by the players ahead of the game.

You capture it all, that’s why most times am not bothered. I think the players are also trying not to be played by the nff just in case they don’t qualify as they know they won’t see any kobo any longer. It’s a Nigerian problem not just an nff issue as you rightly pointed out. I only just thought the players were more eager to get thru the playoffs

It's either these players are playing mind games with Gabon or they are shooting themselves on the foot because even if Nigeria qualifies, majority of these players who boycotted this game may be dropped like it happened to Oliseh and co in 2002

POOJA;
Latest from Super Eagles camp;

The Super Eagles officials has exonerated themselves from the current issues as it's between the players & the NFF authorities.

The team officials are not with the players in demanding special packages ahead of this crucial game.

In all these, they've should've found a way to resolve this internally.

Maybe failed promises from the NFF caused this issue.

Cos why can't the players play the games & come back to demand their allowances? TRUST ISSUES.

Boycotting could be the last resort to drive home their demands.

This looks BAD on both parties.

🚨 JUST IN;

There is an agreement for SPECIAL BONUS from the NFF officials & the players but NOTHING is confirmed yet.

As soon as there is confirmation, it will be communicated.

Opari 😂

But these boys forget the playoffs was the consequence of their performance in the wcq, insisting for special bonuses on top a competition that was never budgeted for initially is an overreach.

Imagine being so filthy rich and yet so greedy. If they had the slightest tinge of shame or patriotism, they should be refusing to be paid any salaries for this playoffs since they brought it on themselves.

The fact that we have to go through the playoff route despite having the two immediate past African Best Player Award holders is sufficient to make them bury their heads in shame. They shouldn't be talking about money AT ALL.

After they will ask us to stand with them when they fail in the name of national solidarity. Fûcking mercenaries.

AFCON next month
Is it time for Super Eagles to win it

@bascovanvelli
Can you someday make a clip of all the u17 2013 & 2015 World Cup winners
Their names over 10 years ago & which teams they play for today
Potential maximized or not smiley

We would like Nigerians to at least remember some of them
Especially now that we can’t even qualify for u17 tournament

Some of the best Senegalese U23 talents around.

Senegal could easily send a team made entirely of young players to the World Cup and still look impressive.

And the younger generations coming through are just as, if not more, talented.

Bright future ahead. 🇸🇳✨

NB: Canvot and Robinio no dey the list oo, and a bulk of this squad were born and trained in Senegal.

Noted. You'll make a beer-parlour analyst with your gibberish opinion
But he's right. In what world of football has a coach kept his hot arrow head of an attacker like Osimhen on the bench because the opposing coach intends to mark him?

In France 98 Brazil lost because Ronaldo mysteriously fell ill on the eve of the finals yet even at that Brazil still featured him. In the build up to Korea Japan 2002, Beckam was England's star player. He had a toe injury some weeks to the WC. England did everything to get him to heal fast.

The point is that we have a star player. A destroyer of defences, a lion, a bull. He's fit and in hot form, you say we should keep him on the bench and bring him 25 minutes into a crucial WCQ play off. I've never heard or seen such a strategy deployed in football. I weak

I really thought the same thing about the players. Such a crucial moment. I understand that the arrears stretches way back oo but I really thought that their desire to be at the WC is stronger than anything else.

I think there's more to this..
These players want some form of assurances or commitments from the NFF..
While I do not like the timing of this boycott/ protest; it's probably the only way they can actually get the NFF to act

personally i like AWAZIEM but people here dont rate him very much

QueenJazz:
Eric Chelle should not even think of starting Osayi-Samuel o.

Osayi-Samuel vs Bouanga or Auba is a mismatch. I suspect (based on the recent call up list and his interview with Odegbami) that Chelle likes to play things safe (almost a little too safe), and stick to players he's familiar with. Awaziem is a much better right back than Osayi-Samuel.

If Osayi-Samuel or Troost-Ekong start against Gabon... 😂💔

You hop onto info you didn't digest properly like the rest of them and you come quoting me.
How about the part I said Lookman, Chukwueze, Akor and Osimhen could start or you only saw the part where I said Osimhen can sit on the bench for 25minutes and the fact that you and the others ignominiously quoting me have not seen it done does not mean it can't be done or it has never been done with success.
Piece of advice: You and others can be polite in disagreeing with someone's point not sounding as if I need you people's likes to validate any point I make.

IMO, moving to Croatia affected Awazeim's chance of cementing a starting shirt in the SE... He was a reliable back up for the regular duo of Ekong and Balogun back then and showed his qualify at the 2019 AFCON where he was used as a makeshift RB.... Then not too long after, he moved to Croatia...
