UPDATE - My Source:

The Super Eagles are asking for special bonus, $30,000 per win.

The NFF offered to sustain their normal bonus structure which is $10,000 per win and added $30,000 per goal vs Gabon and $50,000 per goal in the final of the playoff. The NFF offers were rejected by the players.

Eric Chelle and officials of the team have said they are against the protest and strike. A few players are also against the decision.

Let’s continue to pray for the World Cup ticket

Mujtahida:
The problem with Nigeria is that NFF no good but the shocking but hard to admit fact is that those complaining and condemning NFF too are no good. Put them there, they will do the same thing!

So whatever NFF does really doesn't bother me if not that this touches on the players welfare. Any body who has followed naija football, knows that perenially this issues of ineptitude and corruption, of unpaid bonuses and scandals dogs every administration of the NFF which proves my point.
I was in Secondary school reading newspapers and the complaints were the same. Presidents come and go yet the same problem persist. Does this not tell us something about ourselves which we often don't like to admit - namely that it is we ourselves - you, me, everyone else, without exception - who are the problem of Nigeria?

Someone will soon come and counter me now by saying me oo, I'm not corrupt.
So well put. Its a systematic problem. Even the less fortunate are worse.

It's the same pattern of thinking
WarHammer2000:
Imagine being so filthy rich and yet so greedy. If they had the slightest tinge of shame or patriotism, they should be refusing to be paid any salaries for this playoffs since they brought it on themselves.

The fact that we have to go through the playoff route despite having the two immediate past African Best Player Award holders is sufficient to make them bury their heads in shame. They shouldn't be talking about money AT ALL.

After they will ask us to stand with them when they fail in the name of national solidarity. Fûcking mercenaries.

Sure starter abi the main focus angry
TheSuperNerd:
Victor Osimhen
Alhassan Yusuf
Maduka Okoye

3 lads left to land according to the Tuesday Morning Roll Call of players in Camp

Of these 3, one is a sure starter. The one arrival that will instantly lift the spirits in camp.

When will African ⚽️ federations be drama free ? Not the first time second time or the last time. Please the boys should try and win for the common impoverished masses of Nigeria 🇳🇬. Whenever the super eagles does good Nigerians are harmonized and United irrespective of ethnicity and religion. Gabon will not know what hits them on Thursday believe that.

According to the Super Eagles players, other countries in the playoff have reached an agreement over their “Special Bonus” for their team and players.

Reports says the NFF are owning backlog of bonuses and allowances.

The National Sports Commission (NSC) are claiming they have offset all debts.

Who should we trust? Confusion break bone. 🥹

POOJA;

NFF claimed they've cleared the outstanding before Morocco.

Players claimed the NFF has cleared anything before Morocco.

Super Eagles officials have said they are not part of the saga.

Players are demanding their outstanding before Morocco & special package for this game in Morocco.

For a country like Nigeria, this is not something that should even get to the public.

The problem for me is not even our corruption. It is our hypocrisy. We all believe we are incorruptible. But how come tenure after tenure, the same issues persist. When you talk someone will siddle up to you and say "... But, but me, I'm different, I'm not corrupt"

I often hiss in derision at the stupid naivety of such persons. Ogbeni you are not different. You only THINK you are different.

Everybody thinks they are different until they get into the saddle. I judge not by what you say. Actions my brother, actions.

You hop onto info you didn't digest properly like the rest of them and you come quoting me.
How about the part I said Lookman, Chukwueze, Akor and Osimhen could start or you only saw the part where I said Osimhen can sit on the bench for 25minutes and the fact that you and the others ignominiously quoting me have not seen it done does not mean it can't be done or it has never been done with success.
Piece of advice: You and others can be polite in disagreeing with someone's point not sounding as if I need you people's likes to validate any point I make.
There's no scenario in which Osimhen should be on the bench. Absolutely none. Lookman, Chukwueze, Akor etc playing makes it even more imperative for Osimhen to play. It has never happened in football that a star player is deliberately kept on the bench as a matter of strategy based on what the opponent say they will do.

I think there's more to this..
These players want some form of assurances or commitments from the NFF..
While I do not like the timing of this boycott/ protest; it's probably the only way they can actually get the NFF to act
Or at the half time of the game, the NFF would even act faster.
