I remember when Sanwo-Olu had a Clash with a Military Officer and the Boy stood up to him, telling Sanwo-Olu he is not a Bloody soldier which Sanwo called him. ![]() If a Soldier can stand up to a State Governor, who is Wike, a mere Appointee? ![]() |

Tochitee:I know say people wey get se...nse for this country no many, but that's the right thing to do. Wike doesn't have regards for the office he occupies probably because according to GEJ, most politicians behave like motor park touts. |

Guys, apart from the president(gcfr) which other civilian can make this soldier to disobey a direct order from his general? Does the Minister of defence have the power? |

Mrexcell:He publicly called a uniformed, commissioned officer “Big Fool” in front of his men—an unforgivable act in the ARMY. Those soldiers will never forget. Tinubu is eroding morale in the armed forces. Rotating chiefs of the Army, Navy, or Air Force every few weeks won’t help when the junior officers and rank-and-file have lost respect. |

We are just too sentimental in Nigeria. In as much as Wike used a foul language, the young officer obeyed an illegal order. A senior officer using military power for land grabbing is no no. |

mastermaestro:Respect is earned, it's not forced. I don't think Tinubu is yet to learn from the coup attempt and Donald Trump's threat. If he had, he would rein in his ministers and anyone who claims to represent him. He has gotten carried away with politics. Wike was busy trying to prove to the officer that he came to earth before in. Our politicians don't learn at all. The first coup in 66-7 took away senior officials and who headed the government? A small boy called Yakubu Gowon, who hadn't even married or had a child. I think power gets these politicans carried away. They keep talking down at Nigeria youth, displaying extravagance and expect them to bow to them. Ranka dede politics |

LegendHero:It's sad that we encourage lawlessness in this country & expect the country to progress. A commissioned Naval officer has better responsibilities than standing as a security man in an undeveloped property of a former CNS. Soldiers should concentrate on their duties of defending the country from external aggression instead of interrupting pubic officers from during their jobs. |

gmaribel:He needs to be taught, if not he will sink the whole Tinubu administration. They are planning for 2027 but Wike will collapse the whole administration before 2027 |

Could this be the beginning of the end for the Minister of FCT, Nyesim Wike? The backlash from this may open up a lot of things against him, he isn't in the good book of so many highly placed. PBAT is an economist remember. |

autodexter:The military and other security agencies are creatures of constitution and are bound to obey constituted authority where it's needed. Because military has been dabbling into politics through brutal force for many years and mostly in Africa have made us to believe they are above the law. |

In a sane clime, where rule of law supercedes politics and election rigging; Wike should be sacked as a minister without delay because his action is an insult to constituted authority, without respect to our senior citizens and a dirty slap to the Commander in Chief. But, I didn't expect less as he has penchant to disrespecting and Insulting those that helped him him rose to power. Go and ask Odili, Amaechi, Peter Obi that he used to prostrate and greet with two hands, Atiku, Iyorcha Ayu etc. |

The minister may have a right to demand for documents as proof of ownership of a land but he cannot just be walking around harassing people anyhow. Who says the development is illegal? The government through the minister should show his proof! If Wike was told that a retired COAS is tresspassing, there are avenues to seek redress - through the courts or through the C-in-C. Going there with hoardes of cameramen is grandstanding. I cant speak about the officer. Actually, an officer assigned to an ex CNS is more like his personal staff. He follows his chain of command. After duly introducing himself and also assuring the minister that the development is legal, the minister should just have taken up the matter with his boss and not join issues with an officer on assignment. And the he started calling him a big fool! That is disrespect to the military. It is unwarranted. |

kinguwem:A former CNS has officers assigned to him for life! That is how it is. His job is to work for his boss until he is redeployed. He has to business doing anything other than what he assigned by his boss. Dont blame him. he was doing his job. |

Without Nigeria there can't be Nigeria army, Nigeria air force etc |

autodexter:+ The Minister of Defence never excecises operational command of forces. His role is administrative support in a civil service back ground sense. Therefore the Service Chiefs never report to any Minister of Defense, neither is he their senior. They report to the Commander in Chief. |
