Honestly I've been thinking how to express my thoughts towards the team since yesterday after the news of them boycotting training broke.

First the present NFF board has to go no matter the outcome of the qualifiers or AFCON. The FG in one way or the other has to get involved in how the new set of people will be elected into the glass house without incurring the wrath of FIFA. How that will be accomplished I don't know but where there's a will there's a way.

As for the players I don't know who advised them to take this line of action now. You can fight for the right cause but at the wrong time. They haven't qualified for the WC which would have given them better bargaining power but have allowed this distraction to very potentially torpedo their WC participation ambitions. If they don't make it they are the ultimate losers. Administrators come and go but ultimately players make their own legacy.

Atlanta 1996 was a sh**show in terms of preparation and renumeration but their determination to succeed cemented their place in the history of Nigerian sports and global forums.

The players could have made their point at the AFCON or even next year before the final stage of the WC qualifiers where to all intents and purposes they are 70% sure of going through.

If the players had this intent they should have just rejected the invitation for the upcoming games instead of wasting everybody's time.

A lot of us who invest our time and emotions in this team without getting a dime deserve better from the administrators and players. Truth be told I'm really contemplating whether I should bother watching tomorrow's game (If the players even show up).

I'm of the firm belief that this shall pass and Nigeria will achieve it's potential of becoming a truly great footballing nation.
Thank you o it’s about time these players take their decision if they want to play at the big stage or not. Reuben Agboola an ex player in the 90s said in an interview that he stopped honouring invitations to the national team because of unpaid allowances though he said he’s full of regrets as he missed out of the 94 World Cup. But at least he picked a side and stuck to it. Every SE player should make up their mind.

To think that I was looking forward to this day for one whole month only to get sh*tted on like this. And the next thing people will do is to gaslight me into accepting this mess as normal.

Both NFF and the players should getat abeg!

The only distraction that will make my hope drop to 20% on this world cup qualification is when key players(Ekong,Osimhen,Lookman,Simon,Iwobi,Bassey,Frederick) altogether picks up a fight with the coach then its done!!! as for now nothing to shake me….in the Lekki toll gate massacre we saw youth revolting against the government in one accord to achieve a course…except say super eagles say they are not playing the match again tomorrow…then e don be for us b that…na to just fly in Rivers united and Abia warrior boys to morocco this evening to go and collect 4-0 from aubameyang 🤣🤣

Then why decide to honour the invitation?

If the players had collectively before the AFCON or WC qualifiers said based on these unresolved issues we won't accept any invitations for matches I would have understood but pulling this stunt for such a crucial game? na!

Everyone in the NFF should definitely go that's a no brainer.

"Thriving in chaos" is what years of administrative failure has made you to believe. The NFF probably believe the same as well, and that's why we have remained stagnated, because we keep relying on quick fixes. But if you think "thriving in chaos" is a sustainable model for a World Cup campaign, then you're only deceiving yourself. Morocco and Senegal prove you wrong. In fact, statements like this only justify the chronic mismanagement of the NFF, and the cycle will continue until real structural change is effected, not just random boycotts, protests and rushed bank transfers.

As it stands, we're likely not going to qualify. We may struggle to breeze past Gabon because Gabon simply don't have the required quality to match us, but against Cameroon or DR Congo, we'll likely fall.

Just focus on AFCON now and spare yourself the heartbreak while you still can

Probably the reason they were losing easy chances earlier in the qualifiers. NFF? No single honor in them.

There’s no official statement from the NFF.

The official media group of the Super Eagles has been calm, no information since yesterday.

Before bed time yesterday, the players have vowed they won’t play until the NFF cleared all backlog of debts.

The National Sports Commission (NSC) Executives have been in contact with the leaders of the Super Eagles.

The NSC told me that they have released further funds for the NFF yesterday night.

The NSC also told me that they have released monies due for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers to the NFF.

NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau is expected to meet with the players this morning.

I’m hopeful there will solution and compromise from both sides when they meet this morning.

UPDATE - My Source:

The Super Eagles are asking for special bonus, $30,000 per win.

The NFF offered to sustain their normal bonus structure which is $10,000 per win and added $30,000 per goal vs Gabon and $50,000 per goal in the final of the playoff. The NFF offers were rejected by the players.

Eric Chelle and officials of the team have said they are against the protest and strike. A few players are also against the decision.

Let’s continue to pray for the World Cup ticket

Oganlamedia.
If that the true matter on ground, then the player's pushing for such are useless to the national team,

The question is y is govt releasing funds to thieves dt won’t account nothing when funds are embezzled ,y can’t Dey give d money straight to the players

And for those saying this is not d right time to protest …let me ask when is the right time?

We all knw d crooks in nff won’t pay a dime irrespective of the outcome of these tournament.E don go be dat .then d debt keeps piling up

Y not ask ursef aw Come Dey are owing up to 5years allowance if Dey keep to deir promise.NFF CANT BE TRUSTED ..Simple

If I were to be part of the players protesting,we will just exit the camp 🏕️ by 13:00pm if nothing changes and nothing will happen

Worst case scenario nff will use their 2001 antics again..disband some players ,sack d coaches and bring in another new players entirely to play afcon

Those who have said the bolded are not too different from the problem as far as I'm concerned.

You love world cup than the human beings that will play the damn thing?
I won't be surprised if I hear some talking about there "deserving-ness" because they didn't qualify.

Fans, ex players and journalists are the only ones who can deliver Nigerian football from the hands of the NFF

Do you know the saddest thing about this situation.. The Federal government pays these players and they release funds for the Super Eagles and the money don’t go straight to the players for years!! So where’s the Money going to?

- Do you know how many times the Super Eagles players have said.. Oya leave that one and pay us this one! These people running football in Nigeria are heartless! It’s pure wickedness!

Anything about “Special Bonus” is false. It’s the most stupid thing I have heard today. It was promises made by the NFF. Not the players!! Promises they verbally made if Nigeria makes it to this round.

The Players are serious. Pay us or we don’t play and I stand solidly behind them.

We no enable anything,
Look at the whole saga again, even Pooja dey talk with both side of his mouth,

I am not even absolving NFF of blame or wrong doings here, what's getting me angry is why now, why now that a game matter most, when we done have a second leg to redeem ourselves,

Are you not the One who post Pooja news here, wasn't same Pooja that says such news should not be getting to the public??

Or the site he posted it was it a private sitehuh Worst still he now came to clarify himself, saying it's the NFF that proposed the special package, what do you now call that sahhuh

What those Guyz na is 120% maximum concentration, not that news about bonus and all, they need to face the matter at hand with all the seriousness it deserves,

Journalist like Pooja and his likes, will not post anything good about them, heck even if they are being flown in and out by same Nff, they will not post it
