At least the president has proven to be smarter than most of his "allies" and Agbadorians online. One was advising the president to put out a statement reassuring Wike.

Betanaija42moro:Smh. I know that many of you don’t read to comprehend posts before posting but let me assist you. The comment by the President has nothing to do with the unprofessional conduct of the junior naval officer. Those at the war front and not those supervising building projects in Abuja are those who put their lives on the line. |

No country in the world is the military so embroiled in IS ops than Nigeria. They deserve accolades not disrespect. |

God1000:If you know what it means to be a president, you wouldn't be writing this. No president fears the military. If Milton Obote couldn't fear a ruthless Idi Amin, no president can fear soldiers. Just make sure you have someone who respects you as the army chief. |

Evergreen4:He will be even more pained when he listens to this message from the Inspector General of police. The verdict is out. Wike has been thrown under the bus. He's all alone in this. https://x.com/AbiriOlubunmi/status/1988694459043987766 |

SmartPolician:Lol. Are you sure about that one? Power is an illusion. In the words of Varys, "Power resides where men believe it resides." Even Buhari kept his service chiefs longer than usual for good reasons. To keep the balance of power intact, even the president cannot be seen to be undermining his military. |

SisterAnn:Buratai was right. What Wike did yesterday could easily have set off a chain reaction that would be detrimental to the stability of this country, especially in this charged times of domestic and foreign tension. |

| Re: They Put Their Lives On The Line - Tinubu Hails Military by SmartPolician: 10:07pm On Nov 12, 2025 |
AMINDA:Stop mentioning Buhari - that man knew nothing about leadership. Like a mannequin, he just wanted to be president and didn't mind if his appointees were performing. In Nigeria, people don't wake up and become president. They spend years in politics or military and build trust among civilians, military and paramilitary. Once you become president, you pick a man from your tribe to become your army chief. You know he will rarely betray his own people. Alternatively, you appoint someone (especially chief of defence staff) you can trust...even if it means sacking all his superiors in the military. That's exactly what plays out in Nigeria. Once you do that, you have nothing to worry about because the man will even feel indebted to you. |

God1000:afraid of what? How much is even his salary to be able to purchase such land? Is a COS bigger than the laws of the land? Are they fighting war? For your information this is not a military case, this is purely a civil case and the Court will dish injunction soon in favour of FCT authority and strip the former COS of ownership and heaven will not fall. Dey there they play. That COS should quickly boker peace or that land oti-lo it will go back to the constituted authority. There is no boko haram war in this case! |
