When Faith Meets Reality: Does God Always Answer Prayers? by Nobody: 8:46am On Nov 13, 2025
I was preparing for my midnight prayers when a difficult thought stopped me:Why continue praying?
This question didn't come from nowhere; it was born from real-life experiences of profound faith and unanswered pleas.
I once lived with a woman named Hope. It was believed she had been poisoned, and she dedicated her last years to seeking divine intervention. She faithfully attended various churches, always waiting for "God’s time," but the miracle never came. She died waiting.

I also knew Blessing, who suffered from severe high blood pressure and diabetes. She attended every vigil and paid her tithes diligently, hoping for healing. She, too, passed away while holding onto that hope for a miracle.

Then there was Grace, who was blind. Her pastors repeatedly extended the date for her breakthrough, while she spent all her resources on miracle services. I could go on and on with this list of faithful people whose prayers seemed to go unanswered.
I’m not a constant churchgoer, but I strive to keep my relationship with God active. Still, I can't help but wonder: If this is what happens to people of deep, active faith, where does that leave me?

Does God truly answer prayers, or is the concept of a miracle just a way to keep us hoping, chasing a fantasy in the clouds?
Perhaps the real question is: Does He have a particular formula or pattern of prayer that He actually responds to?

I know 3 men, Esau, Saul, and Solomon. After all their doings they tried repenting, yet God did not answer them.

Everything man needs has been laid out in the bible but only those who are wise findeth it.

So what’s the way forward, should we keep hoping why things get out of hands??

Think about it, if you are going to Aba from Lagos and and and you use Lagos Badagry expressway and you real eyes that you are in Aflao, if you hope with all power and might, would the road bend to Aba?

No!

Why?

Because you are not walking in the right way.

This women were living very close so I know what I’m saying or are you trying to say it’s their sins that got them to where they are??

Is 1 + 3 not always 4 or 13?

If someone says that he gets 7, 5, 2, 19, would you not tell them that their is something wrong with their calculation?

I like you because you think God is a magician. But your point only keeps us hoping and it’s clearly nothing tangible.
Re: When Faith Meets Reality: Does God Always Answer Prayers? by Nobody: 11:30am On Nov 13, 2025
They should keep studying the Bible with no direction, keep searching and searching while they are looking for solutions. Lolz 😂

And I clearly stated according to my first scenario that the first woman kept searching till she died. But you want her to keep searching.

We’re really making Christianity sound like a joke.

Is 1 + 3 magical?

Or is a person going to Aba from Lagos using Lagos Badagry and landing in Aflao, ever going to magically appear in Ariara, Aba?

How’s that tangible😂 what’s your definition of wisdom and how do we get wisdom without knowledgehuh

You are insinuating the women I mentioned up there aren’t wise enough or the pastors aren’t wise enough to decipher this ‘wisdom’ you’re talking about or probably you’re the wisest man in Christianityhuh

You are the one not letting the women speak for themselves for us to respond or ask them questions directly. So you are reacting your own reaction and the women are not here for us to see if they would react as you do or that they truly know and understand why God never answers them.

But, maybe to you, these are the first women you are meeting it is not so for me and for many God lovers.

Those of us who have figured it out know that there is absolutely no way that you can get to Aba if you enter the bus going to Tema, Accra, no matter what.

LOL! 😂 One of the ladies was actually my big mom. I lived with her through those four years of suffering, and trust me, I was right there with her in every single kind of church—you name it, I went. (I'm purposely not naming any denominations, by the way.)

If you think the women lacked 'knowledge,' are you implying the professional preachers and spiritual leaders they listened to weren't as 'knowledgeable' as you are right now?

It's surprising how you try to box divine power into a simple, logical {1 + 1 = 2} equation. You seem to treat God like a mathematical formula.

Yet, according to the Bible, Jesus healed the blind man by using only a mold of sand, and He told Naaman to wash his leprosy away in a river. Based on your current reasoning, I bet you would have seriously doubted the potency of those methods back then.

My friend, you're mistaking.

Everything has principles. It's not about praying. It's about knowledge. "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." Not for lack of praying.

People always think that prayer solves everything. God is not moved by your tears or the magnitude of your problems. Climb the highest mountains to pray if you wish, like Balaam, you will still come back to square one.

God is a God of Knowledge, and by Him actions are weighed. 1 Samuel 2:3.

You think God will be swayed by your problems especially when you're only seeking God because of solutions and not because you love God. Those who make things happen in the realm of faith are those who love God to a fault, and were already serving God without eye service before problems came. If you're not serving God this way, you need those who are serving God this way to speak to God on your behalf.

God values relationships. He's not your standby button you press whenever you have an issue. Your prayers will not even reach the roof of your house, let alone heaven, if they're not borne of love and faith. Galatians 5:6 says "Faith works by Love."

I have shared several testimonies here including one that I shared yesterday which proves God answers prayers.

For example, your own heart is not right with God. This is already proven by your attitude which you described here. You want to stop praying and even discourage others from doing so because you think God does not answer. He has not solved your problems. What's bringing you to God is problems. If there's no.problem, you'll hardly remember God. You think God is a fool? Which father values a child that relates with him this way? Think about it.

Hey, before God can answer you, you need to have an attitude that says "God will continue to be my God no matter what. I don't care whether He answers or not. I will keep serving God." That's the kind of attitude that moves God. Not tears. Not magnitude of problems. If you don't have that attitude, someone who has it can pray for you and get results. That person may not even be a pastor. Most of those pastors out there don't even tick this box. That's why many of them don't see miracles.

The moment your prayer life is based on what you can get from God and not on a desire to relate and move closer to the Father, you already missed it.

This is what Dtruthspeaker was trying to tell you in brief. Yet, you failed to understand his message.

As for me, here is my latest proof of answered prayers: https://www.nairaland.com/8558985/maynman-another-powerful-proof-god

Lolz 😂 so you’re trying to say you’re more knowledgeable of God than other preachers or men of God. Let’s say DR Olukoya of MFM?

So you actually think this people I’m talking about weren’t christian enough. I love how you all justify yourselves feeling you’ve got more quantity of love than others. Was it knowledge that healed hezekiah or prayer??

So you’re trying to say those people didn’t love God or you have monopoly of lovehuh I’m telling you of a philanthropist. Let me give you an instance. I know a brother, an evangelist. He didn’t miss any program. He just finished serving his master and he bought speakers for the church. On his way going back from church, he had a serious accident and he died. Justify that.

For example, your own heart is not right with God. This is already proven by your attitude which you described here. You want to stop praying and even discourage others from doing so because you think God does not answer.
The judgmental crap cheesy

You portray God as unjust with this your narrative. He asked us to pray without ceasing and to ask. So are you trying to say God contradicts himself. He said if we ask we shall get. Was that a lie?? cry

All you people ever give us is hope. Just like the pandora box of Greek mythology. Today is knowledge, tomorrow is hope, next is faith etc etc etc🙄

Clear case of carrot and sticks. You decide to follow knowledge and a preacher tells you ‘the letter killeth’. My question still stands. What’s the formula for miraclehuh

I know. We all have such people and most especially we all know that it is more about you than them. But you are just hiding behind them so as not to be abused.

That aside, see how you have reacted to me? If preachers spoke the sharpest and purest Truth, they won't have a church to call a church as people are allergic to Truth and God.

SpencerForbes:

If you plant stone, would you harvest yam? Or if you plant the skin of orange, would you pluck mango?

No!

So, if people truly read the Bible, they would see that it is accurate like mathematics.

Did you just say judgemental? Were you not the one who opened a thread about you being hesitant to pray after remembering you've got no answers? What's judgemental about me telling you that this is the very attitude that makes your prayers bounce back to earth?

Yeah, God says you should pray without ceasing and to ask. Can you tell me what He asked you to ask for?

In the whole of the Bible from Genesis to revelation, the focus is to seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness, and then all other things shall be added to you. I am talking to you as someone who has results. I am the one who prayed for my daughter when she was 7 and growing a tooth in a wrong and awkward place. I commanded the tooth to reposition itself and it did. I have prayed for a woman who left the Yeye Osun cult and was already dying from attacks. Jesus set her free after I prayed. It's been 3 years now, she still alive and healthy. I prayed for my younger brother in 2006 when he was bitten by a snake in his compound at Òsogbo in the middle of the night. There was no way to get to the hospital at the time, we could only pray. I laid hands on his leg and declared the word "Ye shall step on snakes and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." My brother is still alive today without any medical intervention. I have prayed for a child who had elephantiasis in 2014. I prayed for him on Monday and the mother brought him back on Wednesday to show me the miracle on her son's leg. If I keep recounting, Nairaland will not be able to contain my testimonies.

You're still arrogantly dismissing all I have called your attention to. You can continue in your old ways, and please permit me to congratulate you on your lack of answered prayers.

You have said too much already. Swines never appreciate jewels, so the best a person can do is to put a mirror in their face.

Georg Christoph Lichtenberg,
"A book is a mirror; if an ass peers into it, you can't expect an apostle to peer out

If I was a core atheist, I wouldn’t care what you think. And if you know the moniker Spencer, I don’t GAF about people’s words. So being abused is out of it. The issue is I’m thinking outside fantasy and more of realism. If God is faithful as you think, why does he allows the faithful to die. Lobatan!!!

You just deceived the poor old lady.

I didn’t judge anybody but ask a question and it seems you Christians have problem with comprehension that’s why you always misquote your Bible.

Hezekiah, jabez and Abraham asked for wisdom. Very interesting 🤨

The brother had a problem with hearing likewise the whole church. God couldn’t speak to anyone else. Seems y’all are really few. After a church service but he could speak to a donkey and stone. Seems you all are limiting the omnipresent and omnipotent 😂

I pray because I keep my relationships with God. I rarely pray for supplication and more of thanksgiving and I’m doing perfect. Even more than when I was in the church but I’ll attribute that to previous prayers. So that’s out. I ain’t talking about myself but REALITY

Go to any vigil and see the level of poverty among the masses. Some are so lowly y’all just keep feeding them carrots and sticks. Sometimes I wonder their motivation but just as the pandora box. False hope.

But as Dtruthspeaker said, y’all feed on the poor masses with lies. That was deep embarassed

Y’all can keep the church. On the last day, we’ll know the truth. If it exist

prayers are important, they are useful for us to connect to the source.
but when they are done wrongly, there is no result.
the moment you add ''In Jesus name'' or ''through christ'', that prayer becomes an empty gong.
it is going nowhere and nobody will answer you.
The creator commanded us ''DO NOT HAVE ANY OTHER GOD BEFORE ME''

It means NO INTERMEDIARY OF ANY FORM.

Come to think of it, how many times did jesus have a conversation with God just like Moses?

so if you want your prayers answered, pray correctly.

you can also use alligator pepper when praying, it is also very good.

instead of praying, make declarations, and it will be established, we are not even meant to prtay/beg.

Alligator pepper 😂 did God use that in the Bible?
Another clear case of hope and probability.

Even apostle Joshua selman said if you ask a Christian ‘how do I know God?’

One will tell you to read your Bible
Another will tell you to pray
Another preacher will tell you to wait for revelation and baptize.

Why are y’all confused 🫤

The brother had a problem with hearing likewise the whole church. God couldn’t speak to anyone else. Seems y’all are really few. After a church service but he could speak to a donkey and stone. Seems you all are limiting the omnipresent and omnipotent 😂
Oh, you're an atheist.

All your narratives above were all lies. Please stick to your atheism.

I would have ignored you from the start. Good luck with your atheism.

I guessed as much

Lolz 😂 Christians are very surprising. You’re trying to tell me you don’t know not all snakes are venomous😂😂😂
I don't want to answer you but I'll answer for the sake of young believers who just met Jesus.

We killed the snake, and you're not the one to tell me it's not venomous.

You just deceived the poor old lady.
You mean the lady that already did surgery twice for his son and was looking for 100k at the time to do a third surgery after the elephantiasis resurfaced? How come she never has to do another surgery till date after the leg miraculously healed? Can you explain that?

Can you tell me where I said you judged someone?

This were people who were known to have walked with God unconditionally before problem struck. God was not a stand button to them. They had relationship.

If God chooses not to speak to anyone else, does that make Him less God?

You're the one dreading death as though it's a hurtful thing. Of course death should hurt you since you have no hope outside this world.

The death of a believer does not hurt God because that's one of His beloved sons coming home. No parent hurts when his child comes home from abroad. It does not hurt the brother that died because he would prefer to be there with Jesus than to be here. It hurts the church because they'll miss him but the church rejoiced every time they relmber that he's with the Lord.

Only unbelievers dread death because it makes them losers. So God is not desperate to keep any child on earth if He wants him at home.

Dread death😂😂😂
I asked a simple question. Did hezekiah, jabez and Abraham ask for wisdomhuh

You said we should stop asking for anything than wisdom and now you are adding a condition.
You know what hurts? It’s you people self righteousness. You believe if something should happen to a person it’s because the person was filthy or wasn’t holy enough.

You’re jumping from pillar to post😂

So the people I mentioned up there, you’re 100% sure they were following God conditionally.
Funny man😂

I've answered your questions about Hezekiah and others. If you didn't see the answers, go back and read slowly.

My response to you about Christians not dreading death is based on you said church brother whon you claim died. I am telling you how God and Christians see death. If you dread death so much so that, it is only this aspect you saw in my entire response, the joke is on you.

Apart from Israelites God never promise any other nation miracles it's only in the midst of Israelites that God performed or give people to perform miracles.

After pure worship (Christianity) was rejected by the inhabitants of Israel God abandoned the nation of Israel so miracles can't be predicted or expected to happen because we are worshiping Him!

So what is the essence of miracles found recorded in the Bible?

God only wants us to know that whatever He promised us will be made possible in God's Kingdom!
