Osimhen needs to study Zlatan Ibrahimovic a lot to understand elite level finishing. In tougher games, it will be criminal to miss such chances. The key lies in making early decisions.
I will cut Osimhen some slack today
He redeemed himself beautifully
On any other day, he would get 5 or6

They should all go and rewatch the match , and see their errors , make corrections and do better come sunday ..... i couldn't find a fault all through . if you find one , please share . IT QUALIFIES TO BE A CLASSICAL MATCH
Seriously, we resorted to long balls a lot of times when we could not break through. Keep in mind, our first goal came from an error from the Gabon side.

The hype seems borne out of ingesting fermented kunu mixed with pastis. Too much nonsense in the name of scouting for a great midfielder.
When some of us called for the re-introduction of Ejuke some wacked fellas branded him primary school dribbler alas today he has proven them wrong.
Akinsanmiro will not bench anyone in the current midfield setup not even Alhassan on a bad day.
Wetin you dey yarn?

My hope is that the Cameroon/DR Congo game drags on go penalties. Let them continue to be physical and tire themselves out.

I don't think we should carry that mindset. In another instance, against a more clinical side, the game won't go that long to give him room to redeem himself.

Osimhen has the quality. With a bit of polishing, he will shine bright. The code is keep improving and without flaws seriously, we can miss the room for improvement.

Anything can happen, but in reality we outclassed Gabon.
The Gabonese played out their hearts.

We actually have a very good forward line.
Yes we did far better and created several chances

Wait ooo. We don't need Osayi in the last game. Semi Ajayi will be back so Fredrick will play RWB.

Wetin you understand or misunderstand?
Akinsanmiro is an average if not below average player for now playing for a hapless team albeit loaned out to a hapless bottom placed team.
I will rather make a case for including a GIFT ORBAN in attack than an Ebenezer Akinsanmiro in our midfield based on all Serie A matches both have played.
Conclusively some recommendations seen and supported here bear some undertone of ethnicity. Same with not calling out Ademola Lookman's flaws just because of an APOTY award.

Again, you're very right, imagine it's a group game where we need 3 points to go through to the next round.

From what I am watching so far, I think we can beat both teams; they seem not to have many goals in them, and can be flat in attack

Two Specially Monstrous Showings today

Wilfred Ndidi.... for sometime now, I have criticised his inclusion in the starting lineup and rightly so but today he finally showed why he belongs there. Ndidi shut me up!

He crowned an allround midfield display with a beautiful drive forward after our side put together a very nice vertical playing passing sequence (Bassey header interception ➡️ Moses Simon ➡️ Zaidu ➡️ Iwobi ➡️ Ndidi (who drives forward after shaking off a marker) ➡️ Ejuke.... just lovely passing.

Ndidi was monstrous in nearly all game facets today and at least finally realises that even if he cant shoot as often as we want him to, he can still provide final ball service.

Benjamin Frederick.... Everyone agrees this is one guy who can do no wrong in this team. He has not had a bad game since his debut for the Super Eagles in the Unity Cup.

In duels, he outduelled anyone.
In Tackles, he was smoother than anyone (Check out the tackle on Auba in the closing moments of the first half).
In Interceptions, he was colossal
In Defensive contributions, he was everywhere
In Offensive transitions, he drove the ball forward as a master libero and one of such actions brought a moment of sheer brilliance from 20 y/o Benjy Fred.... allow me break it down

He stepped forward from his defensive third centrally and challenged Aubameyang who received a pass with his back to his marker (Fred). He successfully won the duel vs legendary Aubameyang, left him on the turf, drove forward like a Franz Beckanbauer would in full libero flow, skipped past 2 markers and with brilliant pausa feints, directed his drive into the final third right half space where a Hungry Osimhen (who has missed enough chances) was waiting to pounce and redeem himself. And that he did... but all thanks to Benjamin "Beckanbauer" Frederick. A 20 y/o CB Phenomenon.

Brentford acquired has 2 young CB monsters from the 2023 U20 WC... one was Kim Ji-Soo now on loan at Kaiserlautern in the Bundesliga 2. Another was Benjamin Frederick now on loan at FCV Dender in Belgium's Jupiler Pro. Time will be kind to them, if they realise how quickly their Nigerian CB acquisition is stepping up to become Africa's next big thing in the CB role.

Benjamin "Beckanbaeur" Frederick is a world class talent. The finest jewel of the 2023 U20 Class.

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 9:34pm On Nov 13, 2025
Yeah we got away with one with that penalty call but like you said the guy diving put doubt in the referee's mind.

This is where African refs > EPL ones.

You can be damn sure if it was Michael Oliver na pen straight.

Sweet analysis. You forgot to mention when Benjamin at the left edge of our eighteen yard calmly sent one of our opponent's player back to Gabon to buy Akara.

Benjamin Frederick gives me Beckanbaeur vibes. A true libero.
