Can’t wait for the Intercontinental playoff draw on November 20 (Yes, I believe the SE will win on Sunday 😜😁)

As it stands, the SE are the 2nd highest ranked team that will potentially play in the March intercontinental playoff, only behind Panama..
huh! Panama are ahead of us in ranking?

We can all see the Super Eagles looked fresher in extra-time than Gabon. Rest is key!

The Super Eagles I watched today will win the AFCON!
How dare you put up such performance with 2 days training and a day rest!
This team is coming together, and the world should be scared.
Ndidi and Benjamin what is really going on? Were you guys on drugs!!!
At this point, the AFCON is ours to lose

Osimhen has an extremely strong mentality. Those misses during the game would have completely dampened the spirits of most players. Man soldiered on till he got his goals.
Mentality Monster!!!

Did you know – Amas Obasogie got a yellow in this match on the bench?
Yes, he ran into the field to give Osimhen his mask and shirt

I'LL POST THIS AGAIN...

My Coach: Éric Sekou Chelle!

The right man for the job. This man knows his job. We all know how we use the same set of players every international window. This man came and introduced:
1. Benjamin Fredrick
2. Igoh Ogbu
3. Felix Agu
4. Tolu Arokodare
5. Akor Adams
6. Christiantus Uche

- Started benching Ekong because he's not at his best.
- Won the Unity Cup (even though it's a friendly cup) but at least we played serious teams to win it.
- Kept experimenting with different players, including debutants so as to get his best starting XI, never lost one match in the process.
- Picked Nigeria already on the brink of missing out on the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
- Played all the matches in front of him, going UNBEATEN and eventually qualifying for the playoffs and winning the first game CONVINCINGLY!
- Kept delivering even when the entire country didn't believe in him.
- Played 10 games, won 7 and drew 3.

I know he has one or two improvements to make, but... WHAT A MANAGER! TAKE A BOW, ÉRIC CHELLE! 🫡🙇🏾‍♂️
Excellent tactics.

Pls Osayi should not start our next match.

Imagine if the referee had given the Panthers, a PK as a result of that shove by Osayi.

The deflection that led to the equaliser, was also from him.

His defending leaves a lot to be desired.

Thank you for saying this!

I gbadu Osimhen but there are aspects of his game he can improve.

Imagine we lost this match in ET. People for swear for him for his missed 1v1 right at the end of regular time.
Chief
Osimhen had an off day, nothing more
He has scored these kinds of goals many times..
It happens to every striker

We only thank God he had extra time to redeem himself..
It's not about improving
He scores these exact kinds of goals on a regular..

Go watch Al Nassr, and see the kinds of goals Ronaldo misses, yet we all agree he's an elite goal scorer..

Cut Osimhen some slack
It was just an off 90 minutes

That is not saying he cannot improve,
No striker is the perfect article..
I believe this match showed a different side to Osimhen.. his mentality..

Any other striker would have dropped his shoulders and lost confidence, but not Osimhen..
It shows that when things are challenging, Osimhen wouldn't cower or hide, he would face it head on and fight!

Stay with that and drop all this " improvement" talk for now..

In the interview I just watched he said he asked his teammates if it's straight to penalties, when they told him there was extra time he said he was sorry and he will correct it. Correct it he did!

Elite mentality

Benjamin Fredrick playing CB like ManCity's Akanji was a delight to watch.

Evading a press, swift ball carrying and accurate passes.

A performance he capped with a fine assist for Osimhen's first goal.

For some seconds , I thought they played like Barca. The skill and passes were so accurate at times one touch
Lookman was key to that play
If not for the Gabon keeper saving Osimhen's headers, Lookman would have had 1-2 assists in the first half

Ejuke's goal exposed the GK weakness.

Osimhen was now able to score from that angle after 4 failed attempts.

TheSuperNerd:
Osayi was solid in the first half. It is in the second half he had 2 shaky moments. You will see them if you keep watching. Aside those, he was okay.

And abeg who criticized Zaidu? Abeg, show me that person. Zaidu was clearly unplayable. Put zero foot wrong all game.

And yes, Lookman and Chukwueze took turns coming in centrally as 8s. You observe well. They switched between wingplays and central attacking plays. Lookman especially created one chance through the middle, a ball so sweet yet Osimhen ballooned.

See ehn, if the Osimhen of Extra time had been activated in that first half, it would have been game over bcoz Lookman and Chukwueze were in full flow and key reasons why our attacking flow was a joy to watch in the first 45.

Osimhen, Adams, Lookman, Chukwueze coming at a defence is a nightmare. Finishing and some luck were the only things lacking. That first half was gold. We transited the ball almost similar to Prime Barca of the 2009-2011 era.
Zaidu was massive today!
That Aubameyang's shot he blocked, I shouted experience baba!!!

Zaidu.. respect!!!

Our first 2 goals were made in Spain.

Scored by sevilla's Akor and Ejuke.

A Benjamin Frederick Comps Clip vs Gabon will definitely bang too. Marvellous BascoVanVeli will surely cook that up. grin

Will be the best Comps of a Super Eagles CB in a long while.
He should be asked to empty his pockets, Auba will come out

I was marveled by those deft touches happening in the 1st half in the midfield and instantly reckoned it couldn't be Iwobi playing those passes. I knew it had to be Chukwueze or Lookman....lol
Iwobi was massive in the first 40 mins
See passes like prime Xavi

Isn't it nice that on a day it didn't quite come off for Osimhen initially, other players could score??

Chelle is doing a great work with this team!!

GIVE HIM A 5 YR CONTRACT!!

forgiveness:
Woah! Congratulations to SE. They did a wonderful job today.

I no fit chop while watching the 2nd half. Although, I wasn't able to watch the first half, so I can't give my input.

Notwithstanding, Gabon dominated at the beginning of the 2nd half but as soon as Onyeka came on, the dynamic changed.

This means, the midfield was lacking with just Iwobi and Ndidi. A 2 man midfield no go work ooo.

Osimhen though missed chances but couldn't see much of the ball before Onyeka came in.

Now, let us assume Osimhen was yanked out before the extra time. What will you say?

Will your fi.sh brain forget all he did in the pass because of this game if he was yanked out before extra time? Because I am beginning to see some clamoring for players to be benched or thrown out because of 1 or 2 matches.

This was my argument the last time. Some players will naturally get love even if dem no play shingbin and that is enough to..... I don't know if we understand psychology.

When you transfer hate, are you expecting effective performance?

Tonight, Osimhen still got loved despite his short coming at some point. Why?

Anyway, Onyeka was the big deal today. He was everywhere allover running and tackling. Woah!!!

Ejuke came in an added something new to the team but the guy end product na suspect. Still the same dribble with no end product.

One thing I liked about his game today was his ability to track back to defend. That was good.

That goalkeeper dey fear man pickin. Dude was too careless.

Now, we move to DRC. They played with determination today against Cameron. How I wish the game dragged into extra time. Make dem self tire small.

The coach should not underestimate them.
Still the same dribble with no end product. compared to moses?
Cut him some slacks pls.

If CAF don't place a total ban on the use of lasers during the AFCON, it will overshadow what could potentially be the best AFCON in recent years... I was surprised to see it being used during the game ...
