TheSuperNerd:Thanks for breaking it down! But to be honest, I don’t mind one or two of our key players missing the intercontinental playoff cos, aside from Panama, the SE have a much higher FIFA ranking that the other potential opponent in that intercontinental playoff |

EEGA:You cannot blame players for deflection . Any player can cause deflection. Osayi had a brilliant first half ,he needs to improve from tackling |

mekabuachi:Dont mind the bredas. I saw the result, laughed and decided not to give it attention coz we have bigger fish to fry on sunday. See ehn, Let our Super Eagles just secure the ticket to the intercontinental playoffs first. Once DRC falls on Sunday, Ghana must come explain to us again why they are not at the Afcon since they are sooo good. ![]()

ChrisKels:Before you single out a player, know this. We were on a 4-1-3-2 player setup. And then reverted to a 4-3-3, which pushed the wingers further up the pitch. Making the wingers the first line of defense. And the midfielders the second line of defense. A long ball was flighted from the opposition's half into the final third. Long balls like that are meant to bypass even the midfielders, and it did so. Wingers are not expected to defend this kind of long ball situation, because they will be doing so out of their natural position Remember that the situation did not arise from a patient build up or a counter attack, just a long ball that flew over many. Ejuke was even there because of his records for quick recoveries. He can track back and then sprint back into his natural position because of his pace. The real problems boils down to the team's positioning. Where were the midfielders. The long ball was diagonal. The defense line was cut off position, Osayi moved to a more central position to defend (to cover the space for the out of position CB's). You see there are more players for the blame, and you are leaving out the main culprits. |

mekabuachi:Lol. Just watched the highlights. Japan just dey dissect Ghana's back line, cutting it smoothly like hot knife through butter. That first assist made me laugh the way that Japanese player misdirected the Ghanaian defense. 😂😂 Either this Japanese team is insanely good, or the Ghana team is just piss poor. This World Cup qualification did them no favors by making them think they were hot. Thankfully, it means we'll get to watch them being manhandled on the global stage. 😃 |

I know many of them likely used their second squads, but these results are underwhelming for Africa sha.

This pic captures the exact moment, Benjamin "Beckanbaeur" Frederick left Aubameyang on the turf on his way to executing the brilliant run that fed Osimhen for 3-1. Iconic Picture! Odunayaw: |

TheSuperNerd:Ghana for some reason usually puts up strong performances at the world cup even if they crash out from the group stages, they also have a better team compared to 2022 now but they should pray we don't beat DRC on Sunday cause they'll truly have some afcon explaining to do as you noted ![]() |

Stanley Nwabali's ball distribution has improved tremendously. His goalkeeper reflexes is one of the best in the world. |

Only because I saw your initial post, I would be explicit. Now, you would never know unless you have watched him more than twice at Dender this season like I have and especially at CB and not only when he initially featured at RB or RWB. He had solid games at RB/RWB most especially vs Anderlecht and Standard Liege. But his last 3 games at CB has seen him play full 90mins back to back and he impressed + leads the team in Interceptions per 90. Defensively at Dender across 10 starts in 14 league games, he is... 1st in Interceptions Per 90 3rd in defensive blocks per 90 4th in Tackles Per 90 5th in Clearances Per 90 For a lad who has been trusted with 3 different roles before the club finally settled for him at CB in recent games, I would say he has distinguished himself well and is coming into his own at the club. Folks arent really paying keen attention to Frederick at Dender and claim he has been underpar when that is not true at all. Perhaps they want to refer to the St Truiden game where he played RWB. Against St Truiden at RWB, he had a mixed performance. Strong in duels, brilliant in ball progression but he did concede a foul that led to a penalty for the opposition. As a young defender, mistakes happen but he picked himself up quickly and keeps thriving. So it is until he scores before they realise he is actually progressing fine? Funny. ChrisKels: |

Spainever:That's the nature of international football to be honest. You can play over 350+ games during your professional playing career but only 15-20 games for your NT. I think KC is the only one we should move on from. If the likes of Boniface, Sadiq and Awo reignite their professional careers and find form why shouldn't they get called up? They don't have to start but it's good to have options. Players come in and out of the NT all the time. |
