Match day
Eric Chelle's story looks similar to that of Vincent kompany (was at Burnley, didn't do exceptionally well, but was employed by Bayern Munich, and now his doing wonders)

From mali at the AFCON (quarter finals), to being sacked for drawing a world cup qualifiers game, to being employed by an Algerian club, were it looked like he was still kind of struggling, to being employed by Nigeria, whose chance at going to the world cup was only 10%, (after 3 points from 12 possible points in 4 games), took the job got 3 points in one game....
People still doubted after the draw with Zimbabwe, went on to win the unity cup, played Russia in a friendly (while still retaining his attacking formation, compared to other coach who would have decided to play 5 at the back).

Never lost a game, now 10 games unbeaten, with 7 wins and 3 draws (a win rate of 85%), I wish he completes it today, by wining congo, and then the intercontinental playoffs.
Such a HERO STORY.
Na for that Russia game I respect am pass. Russia were in a very good high scoring form when we played them, we didn't play with 65% of our big players yet they didn't score us, it was Semi Ajayi's own goal that gave them their goal.

I imagined that if he could do this with that squad, then normal normal, with our full squad we could've won the game.

The Law God bless you for this video... Omo now I'm now confident in Éric Chelle even more than how I was before. This man damn well knows what he's doing and he speaks intelligently than any other coach that has coached the Super Eagles in recent years!

He tracks 500+ Nigerian players and watches 80+ per week? No worry the man good.

His substitutions are always impactful, he uses almost everyone on the bench. Our players became this united under him. Did you see when he came to press Osimhen's shoulder playfully when Osimhen was giving an interview to the ESPN reporter? The man come humble join.

Our players are beginning to display the mentality of winners now, and funnily enough, this is just a beginning process o 🙆🏾‍♂️
I tagged you when I posted this interview three weeks ago or didn't I?

His subs often score - Arokodare against Rwanda, Adams against Lesotho, Onyeka against Benin, Ejuke against Gabon.

But he has to break the jinx of conceding at the dying minute - Zimbabwe, Gabon and even the AFCON pour - me - water - incident.

And the bad luck of own goals - Ajayi, Ekong, Osayi.

regardless of what happens today win or lose, he should remain our couch minimum of three years.
Because it seems the super eagles have an identity and also a direction with him in charge.

Last defeats both teams have tasted against Each other

2010: Nigeria 5-2 DRC
2015: Nigeria 0-2 DRC

Last 5 matches of both teams
Nig 4-1 Gabon
Nig 4-0 Benin
Nig 2-1 Lesotho
Nig 1-1 SA
Nig 1-0 Rwa
12goals in 5matches 3conceded

DRC 1-0 Cameroon
DRC 1-0 Sudan
DRC 1-0 Togo
DRC 2-3 Senegal
DRC 4-1 South Sudan
9goals in last 5matches 4 conceded

so like this DRC wan use 1-0, 1-0 qualify to world cup….super eagles plss we need to run these guys riot…im sure we will create chances upon chances, we just need to convert them to goals…Cameroon missed chances that would have buried DRC, they have really lost their prowess in africa…thats why i was scared we were also losing chances against Gabon, cos precedence has it that teams that loses chances upon chances usually end up losing…but thank God that analogy did not work for us against Gabon….

one thing for sure Osimhen will find himself multiple times in that box18, they will really have a long 90mins…Osimhen fiery attack will make them sit deep and not come out

once again I DONT fear DRC abeegii…
Gabon was a better team than DRC, we beat a Gabon that came second with 25pts winning 8matches in group stage and lost their group to CIV…

They nicked a 1-0 win against a Cameroon team that had 5wins in group stage with 19pts playing 0-0 with ekuke eswatini and losing group to baby cape verde

i no football is not mathematics…its just like Germany of 2014 brushing aside big teams with big goals clearing Brazil with 7-1, you think anyone could stop that German team?

Unless there is a serious blunder in the back, DRC won't score a single goal. Take that to the bank.

This game is ours to lose.

We are winning this.

Naija needs to be at world cup come 2026. Naija has been in the rebuilding stage for close to a decade ( the spine of this team still has the U-17s from 2013 and 2015 and the FB players).

This team is entering it's peak. In four years time, the team will need some rebuilding with many players past their prime. 2026 - 2028 is the prime of this team. By 2030 the spine of this team will be past their best years.

Whatever kind of win will against DRC. Go Naija!!!

"We'll throw ourselves at Nigeria!" Sure. Great idea. Lol.

If I recall correctly, Gabon has the best attack out of all the opponents we've faced in this playoffs, and they still couldn't crack our defense. I was thinking DRC would sit deep and hit on the counter. If these guys are thinking of playing attacking football with Super Eagles, we might have another repeat of the Nigeria vs Benin game in Uyo. Give us this day o Lord. 😂

I hope it's not mind games sha.
