Ndidi should not play abeg !

We have good replacements in the squad. I suspect Congo playing mind games and setting a trap.

Why is the coach afraid to bench iwobi for so many times iwobi has failed to deliver in the team. Just take a look at the match against Garbon ndidi would have gotten so many assist in that match, that suppose to be the work of iwobi.
Seriously, I have the believe that ndidi can even do the work of iwobi, then the coach can play onyenka to assist the defenders.
terrible take

Had the Gabonese GK not turned on his inner Neuer, Iwobi would have had an assist to Osimhen's header early in the game.

AFTER 4 YEARS, Boniface wedding plan COLLAPSE 👇

💍 🇳🇬 Victor Boniface was about to marry Norwegian Rikke Ermin, but the wedding collapsed after a major dispute.

🇳🇴 Ermin insisted on getting married without a PRENUP, which meant that in case of divorce, everything would be split 50/50.

😎 Boniface didn’t object, because he simply doesn’t own anything in his name. All his assets are registered under his mother’s name!

😱 When Ermin found this out, she decided to back out and cancelled the wedding, ending a 4-year relationship.

Exactly as some of us hoped for.
This simply means there is no space for Bright Osayi in next month's AFCON. He is a weak link.

ChrisKels:
Ajayi will be starting today. Benji will play as a right back.

One of Benjamin's strength is how he uses his body especially his shoulders to shield attackers making runs at him. So he'd use his shoulders instead of his legs to shield you. Even if you fall down, it would be taken that you lost in the battle of strength. Using his legs would result in penalties.

If he was trained to play this way then it's a very intelligent training.. If it's his own cue to play this way, then it's astonishing because most defenders use their legs more in such situations than their bodies.

Every African team around us are stockpiling on their foreign borns (especially Morocco) who they've convinced to play for them so why should we that even have the highest number outside since we are the most populated stop? We've just lost atubolu to Germany who's very talented. Our league is not like the glory days again even the youth teams that gave us osimhen, akor, Fredericks have been on a downward spiral recently, see even Uganda entering round of 16 for a tournament we are the record winners but that's beside my point. If an "outsider" is technically refined than the one at home we shouldn't call him cause the latter helped us qualify? Maybe the state of the country and NFF's corruption also plays a part cause ordinarily we shouldn't even stress much taking these guys unlike before
If they can't join during the qualifiers, they should wait till the next qualifiers.

Not like they're coming to win the world cup for us.

Do you think I'd say the same thing if it was Benjamin who deflected the ball?
You make it sound like the deflection was done intentionally. If the ball had hit the ref and straight into the net, what would you say?.

I blame Nwabali more for that goal than Osayi. Anyone could have been at that position and still would have entered.

The job of the goal keeper is to keep balls away from the back of the net whether deflected or not.

That space was too narrow to have allowed that ball in. Shows he's weak on that side.

On a serious note, the NFF need to be certain they got an official memo from CAF/FIFA regarding Ndidi's eligibility to play...
We don't want stories that touch the heart...

once again I DONT fear DRC abeegii…
Gabon was a better team than DRC, we beat a Gabon that came second with 25pts winning 8matches in group stage and lost their group to CIV…

They nicked a 1-0 win against a Cameroon team that had 5wins in group stage with 19pts playing 0-0 with ekuke eswatini and losing group to baby cape verde

i no football is not mathematics…its just like Germany of 2014 brushing aside big teams with big goals clearing Brazil with 7-1, you think anyone could stop that German team?
grin grin

I believe we will beat DRC, but this your analysis was very annoying to read sha. How is Gabon better than DRC?

So, they should beat a studded Cameroun team 3-0 in a knockout game? Have you looked at Cameroun's squad before? They are just not in-form, but the squad has quality.

DRCs squad quality btw is way higher than Gabon, by squad obviously should be among top 10 in Africa. DRCs group was also arguably the toughest in the first stage.

No. The deflection is the culmination of his bad defending. I had complained before he even dragged the jersey of the Gabonese player.

On match day, it's best to stay on this thread and YouTube than on X.

On X, the ignorance of the average Nigerian fan is shocking. You'd see people who have not followed the SE for years making stupid comments. You go just weak.

And then again how is it possible to be an avid club fan but feel nothing for the SE?

See this post 👇👇. See this person mentioning Tosin Adarabioyo instead of Semi. They don't even know our players.

It's better to cap tie them even if they're on the bench than risk losing them in case they shine and catch the interest of their host nation tomorrow. We might be flying under Chelle now but apart from osimhen and some notable names this team still needs more talent

Lol. Normally X is for post-match banter and tomfoolery. 😂

For analysis and reasoned predictions, I rely on Nairaland SE thread and few choice channels on YouTube like EaglesTracker and Football Fans Tribe.

Even this Nairaland, the only place with intelligent contributors is on this thread. If you go to other threads and see the rubbish they write, you'll just weak.

toughest group?

With Sudan South Sudan, Togo, Mauritania? lol

Because they had Senegal only? Rest jor

Nigeria had the toughest group in terms of real opposition, yes we should have beaten those team base in quality, but see South Africa, Benin, Zimbabwe, Rwanda are good teams, and can spoil the party on a good day for any top African team.

Blatant lie. DRC's group wasn't tough for shiiit.

Nigeria had South Africa, Benin and Zimbabwe, even though Zim were surprisingly terrible in the qualifiers.

Ghana had Comoros, Madagascar and Mali.

Egypt had Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau.

Cameroon had Libya, Cape Verde and Angola.

Gabon and DRC's group were identical - one top tier team: Senegal for DRC, Ivory Coast for Gabon. The other teams in the group were godawful with no pedigree.

Gabon arguably performed better because they dominated their group more convincingly with higher numbers of goals, unlike DRC who won many of their group games with slim margins except the one against South Sudan that they won 4-1.

H2H, did you know Gabon has a better record than DR Congo with 4 wins against 2?

That aside, both teams are roughly equal now in terms of strength. Gabon has the better attack. DRC has the better defense plus more well rounded players.

Either way, we're going to wipe them. I'm not expecting it to be a demolition like it was with Benin and Gabon, but I honestly don't see DRC keeping a clean sheet. I also don't see them scoring more than 1 goal.

Spare a thought for our bredas. Ghanaian player Francis Abu suffered a leg break against Japan in their recent friendly.

Will most likely miss the WC next year.

Wish him a speedy recovery.

What does friendlies have to do with WC spots.

The only gat Gattuso should be gatting is gatting the fck off and preparing for UEFA playoffs.

Rewatching that Japan game, they were too good sha. Even the Gattuso wey dey talk, his Italy fit collect 2-3 goals unreplied from that Japanese side.

I didn't see Haller, Kessie, Adingra etc. and the other usual suspects in Ivory Coast's game against Saudi Arabia. I'm guessing they used their B-team, so I guess the result there is slightly forgivable, but it may reveal a lot about Ivory Coast's squad depth. Afterall our own B-team drew with Russia.

Na the Egypt own wey muzz me. Many of their top players featured. Salah was even present. 😂

CIV and even Ghana on a good day can turn up.

Gattuso is just diverting attention from how poor Italy have been over the years.

To be fair I don't think he was in charge from the beginning and he has steadied the Azzuri but they are still lacking quality wise.

They can still make it through the playoffs.
