Most reliable engines have always been Toyota for me over the past twenty years or so...Hondas were literal hell on earth...Peugeot too was reliable but not as much as the Toyotas
The OP said engine. Hondas might have other problems but the engine is often reliable.

In 2020 August, I drove a spider that the bottom plate was leaking oil from Ogwashi-ukwu in Delta to Owerri, was stopping every 20-30 minutes to top oil in the car, depending on traffic, but I got to my destination by 1 am on a journey that started by 4:pm

No engine as as rugged as big Daddy engine.
My mechanic told me that he is not happy with anybody using big Daddy because that means mechanics will go hungry.

Drove Peugeot 307 for over 70KM without engine oil. The AC vents was bringing out smoke 😱😨. Camry big for nothing 4-cylinder 2AZ-fe , oil shorting crazily, started topping her with black oil, atimes with bit of water for over a year. Till fiter got blocked and vehicle was giving a knocking sound. I changed filter and put amasco, still firing, will be ringing the engine later this month 📌🔥💯
Why ringing the engine..
You should get a tokunbo engine

The small but mighty BMW M40 is a 1.6L straight-4 engine with a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) produced 1991. Key specs include a bore of \(84\) mm and a stroke of either \(72\) mm (\(1.6\)L), with a cast iron block and aluminum head. Power output varies by displacement and variant, ranging from \(75\) kW (\(101\) hp) for the M40B16 to \(85\) kW (\(114\) hp) for the M40B18.

Most reliable engine? ... Toyota.... had a Toyota Pencil light .... got tired of it ... basically... oil ...filter ... gas .. battery ... wiper blades ...brake pads and tyres ... verrrry reliable. Got rid of it. Moved to next level ...Big Daddy...this one is same...just a bigger beasts. For reliability.... let's not check years ...but mileage. Mine is around 285K miles ... still very reliable and running like the wind. Whatever the engine ...2.4 ... I'll give that the crown.

Commercial transporters don't buy tokunbo engines, they rings it(that is they rebuild their engines).

Most tokunbo engines in Nigeria are rebuit ones.

Hi owunabastard, please do you know of a very knowledgeable automechanic for Lexus GS350?

My car vibrates between 20 - 40km/h when accelerating or decelerating.

I changed the propeller shaft but the issue is still persistent.

My axis is Ikeja - Ojota - Ogudu in Lagos. Thank you
