PRIMATE "PROOHET" ELIJAH AYODELE. WHEN A PASTOR TURNS TOXIC: NIGERIANS MUST NOT KEEP QUIET When a man of God stands on a pulpit and opens his mouth to call an entire ethnic group “cursed,” that is no longer prophecy, that is poison. And poison, if you don’t flush it out early, spreads. Primate Elijah Ayodele didn’t just misspeak. He crossed a red line. You cannot sit comfortably in a country built by many tribes, many tongues, many histories, then use the name of God to attack a people who already lost over 3 million lives because of dangerous talk like this. That’s not “revelation.” That’s incitement. And Nigeria must not pretend not to know what incitement leads to. One thing history has taught us: Hate speech is never harmless. It’s the rehearsal for violence. Rwanda didn’t start with weapons, it started with people on radio calling others “cockroaches.” The Holocaust didn’t begin with gas chambers, it began with speeches calling Jews “cursed.” And the Nigerian Civil War didn’t begin with bombs, it began with the demonization of the Igbo people. So when a cleric with influence says “Igbos are cursed,” he is not preaching. He is loading the gun. Because once a lie becomes “prophecy,” once bigotry becomes “revelation,” once hatred becomes “spiritual insight,” people stop questioning it. They believe it. They defend it. They spread it. Before you know it, millions of innocent Nigerians start carrying a mindset that an entire tribe is condemned by heaven. And let’s be honest: When you believe something is “cursed,” you don’t embrace it… you isolate it. You cast it out. You destroy it. That is exactly why this rhetoric is dangerous. Let’s speak truth: The Igbo nation has still not healed from the last genocide. Families were broken. Cities were starved. Millions were erased. So any man who stands today and mocks their pain, paints them as cursed, or marks them out for hatred is not speaking from God, he is speaking from a wicked spirit. Another genocide against the Igbo would not just harm the Southeast; it would end the ethnic group. And Nigeria as a whole would never survive the consequences. In a sane country: Religious leaders do not spit hatred like water. Ethnic profiling is not tolerated. Incitement is prosecuted. National unity is protected. Nigeria is a signatory to international laws that treat incitement as part of the crime of genocide. We cannot wait for violence before we act. We cannot fold arms because “it’s just talk.” That “just talk” has killed millions before. This is not about Yoruba vs Igbo. This is not about politics. This is about common sense and national survival. Every Nigerian who wants peace should condemn this type of preaching. Every security agency should take note. Every responsible leader should speak out. Silence is how genocide begins. Courage is how we prevent it. And as for the people targeted by that reckless statement, the Igbo nation, let it be clear: You are not cursed. You are not the problem. You are citizens of this country, and nobody, pastor or politician, will rewrite your humanity with his mouth. ~ Samuel Okenyi 16/11/2025 |

We are watching, they won't caution the pastor now. What they enjoy in fanning this amber of conflict and war, is what I don't understand |

We cant just pretend that we didn't hear is toxic sermon and his profiling of an entire ethnic group. The DSS,police and the national security adviser must act fast or let us pretend nothing was said as usual because it's against the Igbos Nigeria love to hate. Let's know that we are gradually setting Nigeria up in the line of total disorder which may be too late for us if we allow such to be swept under the carpet. Allowing agents of destruction to use the pulpit to put a knife on the things that hold us together, that will definitely bring this country to its knees. Ayodele didn't just say this,he may be telling us something we don't know,he may be telling us the evil they conceived in their minds and In their secret covens against ndigbo and part of a wider conspiracy of a certain people. We ndigbo have taken note!!! |

Those are mere worthless words and nothing close to prophecy. I only pity the people under his tutelage: his congregation. They are being led astray. |

Pastor, prophet etc are just titles, it doesn't stop the person from being stew-pid. I have an issue with one so-called pastor presently, the thunder that would fire him and all his family members supporting him is coming straight from hell......He'll suffer in this life and the next if he doesn't change from his wicked ways. |

Yoruba pastors are mostly businessmen, no men of God in the west. |
