From the video, it was the Guard Brigade that played the sound to usher President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the podium. We didn't see or hear judges chanting the song but of course, the bitter election losers will do what they know how to do best and twist the narrative even when the video is very clear.
However, whether the judges sang it or not, "On your mandate" has become the 2nd official anthem of Nigeria. Every individual or institution is at liberty to sing whatever song the wish to.
The problem is the hypocrisy of the wailers, especially the Bitter Obidients. We remember lawyers were taking pictures with PitaObi during the NBA conference before the election, many of them were singing " Obi kekerenke ", to Obidients, nothing was wrong about it. imagine Obi was President, every institutions would have been singing Obi kekerenke and they won't raise an eyebrow. But it is Tinubu, their nightmare, then they must wail. Trust me, Atiku and Obi will sing on your mandate after Jagaban finally bury their political ambitions in 2027.
Just as Tinubu has buried Nigeria. He's the worst in the history of Nigeria. The evidence are there In the public eyes

"It was played solely by the Guards Brigade"
I swear incompetent and illiterate people are in sensitive positions here
Why would a guard brigade be singing "on your mandate" and then the judicial body explaining this lunacy on their behalf?
Madness everywhere grin

And u think guard brigades are supposed to be singing Political song in such occasions?
Did guard of brigade are not supposed to be neutral to all?

I guess you are even more hypocritical than the obedient/election looser you tagged.
Neutral to the president?......

In a working country such song of political manipulations couldn't have been allowed in such a ceremony.

Unfortunately no one has the balls of Yerima to put a stop to the absurdity.
balls of yerima should be in sambisa in a reasonable country

TimeManager:
The video was clear enough, the Presidential Guard Brigade only played the tune of the song while the judges stood up to welcome the President to the podium. None of the judges sang along. This is a standard protocol whereby the President has the prerogative to determine what song would usher him on stage. And it is not only limited to conferences, forums, or political gatherings, it cuts across all activities, including presentation of budget or any other official presentations. It's just a matter of protocols.

-Kiss the truth!
It is common globally. In the US, they play "Hail to the Chief" whenever the US president is to make an appearance.

The question is did the judges sing the song,if people have any problem with the song their anger should be directed to the presidential brigade that played the song and not the judges
They all stood at attention for it

THE PRESIDENT DOES NOT HAVE THE PREROGATIVE TO DETERMINE SONG TO BE PLAYED IN AN OFFICIAL NATIONAL FUNCTION .... YOU TURN THE CONSTITUTION UPSIDE DOWN WITH THAT COMMENT IN RED

FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT THE NATIONAL ANTHEM AND PLEDGE ARE THE OFFICIAL SONGS AND COMMITTMENT TO NIGERIA .. NOT TO INDIVIDUAL OR TRIBE ......... THE JUDGES SHOULD HAVE OPPOSED THIS NONSENSE IF THEY have ANY INTEGRITY LEFT IN THEM
Asides the national anthem, the band has different tunes they play during introduction of govt dignitaries.

Have you watched the video? Tinubu was leaving and the band played a tune. So because of that, the Judges should scatter the place and start acting unruly??

They stood up when Mr President wanted to mount the podium, which is normal protocol as a respect for the office of executive president of Nigeria.

OOOH... I DIDNT KNOW THAT THE BAND DETERMINES THE TUNE AND NOT THE PRESIDENT .....
I DIDNT KNOW THAT THE BAND TUNE IS SUPERIOR TO NATIONAL ANTHEM!!!!

Oga have you ever been where a president is? Asides the national anthem, whenever the president stands to speak, there is a tune played. If he sits and called upon again, the band ushers him with a tune and blowing of trumpet.

cheesy

The problem is that judges (or anyone else for that matter) can't even sing the 1st official anthem.

Things got so bad that the administration recently had to issue guidelines for singing the anthem at official events - over 60 years after the British left. undecided

If that isn't a step backwards, I don't know what is.

We fervently wish the 'demons' from the song could fly into the sycophants present (instead of into some harmless herd of swine somewhere) and propel them all over a cliff. grin

Yerima didn't send himself there. We are still saying the same thing. The same useless country could not send trained soldiers to decimate terroriam but they posted them to private apartments of individuals. However, they still show their combatant prowess and spirit regardless of who is involved, minister or not.
