Pls is there a WhatsApp group for F1 visa?
Timshin:
So sorry about this sis. I think one of the problems here is too much information. Additionally, please work on your funding because they will ask you what has changed in your application since the last denial. Talk to your school about assistantships, or on campus jobs. Finally, when the Vo asked if you had someone in the US, *No, I don't* should have been your answer. If you already signified NO in your Ds 160, why changing your answer again. There shouldn't be any but...the details were information you could have quietly left out since you are sure that your cousin is back here. I think he had an issue with you there. Remember, just one hesitation could certify your entire answers as false. Probably that was why he gave you that blue paper. It’s not the end of the world sis, just be more prepared next time. Well done!

Good evening everyone.

While filling my DS-160 form, I omitted my YouTube account in the space were asked to input our social media, but I added all of my other accounts.
My interview is in about 2 weeks.
Please, does it really matter?
If yes, what can I do?

Your human characteristics and overall assessment, ie your emotion, beliefs, and orientation, etc in your other accounts is enough to do background checks on you and sum it up as your natural hallmarks. So, the answer is, " It does not matter"
What if I don’t post much. And I am active most on twitter. The other accounts nothing really going there.

Plus can someone do sanitation on their profile before going for interviewhuh

Hi everyone, please I’m planning to write GRE early next year, can someone recommend materials that will help me prepare. And I don’t mind if I can get a good and reliable online tutor, I’ve seen many online but I’m scared so I’m looking for recommendations based on experience of good people here. Your response will be appreciated.

Please anyone or you know anyone at the University of Houston. Please I have a question to ask.
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by 1xxd: 1:23am On Nov 22, 2025
Hey everyone, I’m facing a unique issue and would appreciate your advice.

I hold a 3-year BSc degree from the Benin Republic. Recently, I was admitted to several universities in the US. Some schools offered me admission for a B.Sc (second bachelor’s degree through transfer), while others offered admission for an M.Sc. Interestingly, some schools even offered admission for both a B.Sc and an M.Sc.

I’m torn between two options: pursuing a second B.Sc (which would take 2 years since I’ll be transferring credits from my existing B.Sc) or an M.Sc (also 2 years). My primary concern is the visa process and the ease of living in the US. Which option would be more favorable in terms of these factors?

From my perspective, I’d prefer pursuing a second B.Sc because it would provide me with a stronger foundation (since my first B.Sc is 3-year). Additionally, I plan to pursue AI research, and most schools and fellowships I’m interested in require a 4-year BSc.

On a separate note, if I had to choose between two schools with similar rankings and tuition fees were not a concern (since I’ve already secured a student loan), would you recommend choosing a private or public university? I’d appreciate your insights.

Hi, I have the same issue and was asked to provide additional documents to show proof of relationship. Know of an estimated timeline?
i believe its a first issue. would usually take around 1 week for them to do all the background checking. mine was a renewal and my 221g was most likely for social media vetting which is why it took less than 24 hours.

Thank you, it was issued after two days. Please can I meet you? It’s seems you have been in the US for a while now. I understand H4 visa is restrictive. I need guidance and OT how to make the best use of it and support my partner

Why are you giving yourself unecessary headache? Did the US embassy mandate you that you must post everyday in all of your social media accounts ? In all honesty, Its been almost 4- months that I last opened my personal Facebook account, so will the US consular query me on my personal lifestyle that is not endangering the peace and security of others ?

If a hardened criminal or a terrorist has many social media accounts and he or she is most active only on twitter, then the twitter is enough to do background checks on him or her. Your habits, characteristics, beliefs, behaviour towards others etc will surely and is certainly reflecting in your current twitter.

Dont do any sanitation on your profile because it will make you look suspicious as in clearing some bad or dangerous ideologies or mission. USA embassy are not looking for you, they dont care about your childish, sexy or obscene comments on twitter. They understand that you can always display idiosyncrasies on social media. The fact most people dont understand is that, the US embassies and other border agencies are only looking for terrorists or those who are prone to causing public catastrophic crimes.
Oh ok. Makes sense now

Good day everybody,
With this policy changes and all, I've been very restless on what happens when one finishing schooling in the US. What happens.
Are there ways one can remain in the country?
I currently work in an engineering firm here in Nigeria but I don't feel fulfilled. I want to go for my masters but the fear of the unknown. What if I quit my job here, finish schooling in the US. What next. Can I get a job to stay back?

Please someone should help me clear my doubts

Nothing is guaranteed, worst case scenario you calculate those risks and determine what you can afford to lose .

Even in Nigeria getting a job is not guaranteed.

I honestly don't think you have really really asked yourself why you're worried.
You want to immigrate through student route...you have lot of steps to pass through before you even start considering getting a job. Plus getting a job is not equal to getting to stay back.
Relax

Just don't burn all your bridges back in Nigeria and set a plan B or C..

How does the 3- months entry visa policy affects you when you are aiming to successfully graduate from a U.S institution, or have you seen any Nigerian or African undergraduate in the U.S that was deported because of the policy. Or what policy are you talking about ?

One of the best ways to stay back and live not only in the United States but 75% of most countries of the world is to secure their study visa and graduate successfully in a demanding courses of study (especially Msc & Phd).

Human wants are insatiable (Economic theory), therefore, for the fact that you are not feeling fulfilled in your current occupation doesn't mean that you are poor or suffering. Hence , you do not have to quit your job like a 5- yr old kid who throws away McVitie's biscuits on the sight of N50 note in his mother's hand. Thus, you can always resign gracefully from your job after you must have gotten the visa successfully.

Look, there is no doubts you need to clear other than the fear in your mind, courtesy of unconfirmed rumours. United States has many opportunities for all the citizens and residents , and those who have managed to graduate with outstanding results (Phd) are definitely going to be retained into the academia or manufacturing research. Bsc & Msc graduates from all the public research Universities in the U.S has the options of OPT, graduate assistantship, work-study , career fairs where employers come to campuses to look out for the best performing undergraduates and graduates, etc.

So, are you still waiting to clear your doubts or you want to take the next steps ? He who hesitate is dead (English proverb).
I have this fear cos I watched a lot of YouTube videos about this OPT. Many international studies said they had to go back tho their country cos they didn't find a company to sponsor their visa. It was hard for them to get a job

Hi. Are you saying it took two days from the day of the interview to the day your passport was ready for pick-up?

Getting a job is not equal to residency. They are not the same.

OPT , H1B are all temporary work visas, same with U, R, L visas. Even F1 student visas that permit you to work with restrictions is still temporary, once you are no longer studying you can not work with that status.

Is there a way to convert from a temporary work visa to a permenant one?
