My argument is not born out of pain, but from observable cause and effect. It is a simple principle of security publicly flaunting immense wealth in an environment of poverty and insecurity makes any institution a target.
This is not a theological attack it is a logical assessment of risk.

The true focus, which your response overlooks, remains the suffering of the poor and vulnerable members who bear the consequences of this perception.
To ignore this reality while quoting scripture is to miss the very essence of compassion that the Church is called to EMBODY.

L.et us debate ideas, not insult character.

As Seneca once said, "A quarrel is quickly settled when deserted by one party it takes two to make a quarrel."

I choose to focus on the plight of the people, which is the most important matter at hand.

If you are pained because of the Church and Pastors Wealth, then start your own and leave the Church alone- for ' the gate of hell will not prevail on the Church '
Re: Nigeria Ranks 8th Out Of 193 Countries In The Global Organized Crime Index by lilsmart(m): 9:25am On Nov 21, 2025
Your observation on geography is Valid, but the core principle is universal. A ministry model that flaunts wealth wherever it exists markets the entire church as a financial target. Ultimately, it is the vulnerable congregants, North,West, East or South, who become the pawns, used as human ATMs because of a perception created by their leaders' opulence.

OredoPikin2:
which pastor in the north is flaunting wealth?
una dey always like deviate.
how many pastors and churches have been targeted in the south.
even the owo massacre, no one know the pastor.
face the real issue and stop looking for blames

Make i hit the nail on the head.
When pastors and churches constantly flaunt their wealth buying private jets and exotic cars they are essentially painting a giant target on their congregations. They are advertising the church as a lucrative financial institution, not just a place of worship.

The most painful part is that it is the poor, faithful members who will suffer for this ostentation. The wealthy pastors are already shielded by tight police and private security. So, the kidnappers will logically target the vulnerable, everyday worshippers. They become the pawns because the criminals now believe the church has the money to pay. The poor are used as human ATMs, and their suffering is the price of their leaders' vanity.

Critical thinking everyone is entitled to his/her opinion
You are blaming organized crime on churches, and you call that critical thinking.

ANOTHER is a deliberate and illogical misrepresentation of my point from Another classic straw man.

I choose to focus on the plight of the people, which is the most important matter at hand.

As Seneca once said, "A quarrel is quickly settled when deserted by one party; it takes two to make a quarrel.

nairalanda1:
No, you basically said the church is the source of all criminals, so, I guess we all have to believe you and essentially assume that all christians are criminals and supporting a criminal enterprise too.

You are enlightened and know all...

Typical of izlamist. They must blame other people for atttrocities committted with their own hands:

CIA and MOSSAD for 9/11 that Osama bin Laden clearly took responsibility for
IDF for Oct 7 that hamas videoed themselves doing
Igbbos for the terrrorism in the north while the government is negotiating with the real crriminnals
UAE for the crrimes of RSF even when they shout alahuaakbarru while doing it.

The organized crime in Nigeria are mostly political and economic related.

The politicians and the business tycoons are the major culprits
Is it limited to that?.

Let me break it down,.many of what we call "cult" has actually grown to be crime families with miscreants as footsoldiers. now tell me where they are not seen, from politics to entertainment to govt and many in organised drug and shady dealings outside the shores. Even the so called bandits now have same formation. They are all in politics and even law enforcement. It's well with our nation

Re: Nigeria Ranks 8th Out Of 193 Countries In The Global Organized Crime Index by lilsmart(m): 10:02am On Nov 21, 2025
You have misunderstood the core argument, which is a common error in complex discussions. My opinion (Criticalthinking) does not blame the crime on the church the criminals alone bear that responsibility. Rather, it logically analyzes the factors that increase vulnerability. To observe that the public flaunting of wealth can attract criminal attention is not an accusation but an analysis of cause and effect, much like noting that a house that displays its riches without security is more likely to be burglarized than one that is discreet. The point is not to excuse the burglar, but to understand the dynamics that make the crime more likely to occur. A truly educated approach requires us to examine all contributing elements in a situation, not just the most obvious one.

There is no critical thinking here but nonsense . If you think Nigeria wealthy pastors is the problem poor Nigerians have then, your head should be examined properly. Your politicians stealing your money everyday you can not hold them accountable but you are blaming pastors who have foundations giving to the poor family, every year scholarships to students. But your Nigeria president, governors, and other political thieves in different sections are stealing and milking this country dry , you can not say anything against them. Go and Google how much those pastors give to people every year and keep quiet.

Isn't it time the church moved from just offering aid after tragedy, to using its power and wealth to solve the root problems and prevent the tragedies altogether? Stop treating symptoms start solving the diseasehuh??

Imagine a thief come to your house to kill you
You catch and arrest the thief.
Then you rehabilitate the thief and adopt him into your family.

Even Satan himself will be confused

I said it before that the end of APC will be ready in history books as the Hitler's of Nigeria

Tinubu name will forever be marked in history as worse regime than Abacha.

APC is a criminal organization

That is why Trump called Nigeria a country of particular concern
I feel sick eqch time see anything apc. The party bring nothing good, and the supporters are ok with it.
Apc is evil, ahsweh to god. Do you know the worst part of it? Im always around them in contract and business.

The Cosa Nostra (Sicilian Mafia) or Italian Mafia as a lot of people like to call them are not as potent as they once were cos they have been cracked down by the law enforcement over and over, so they mw adopt new methods and mostly work behind the scenes (using other major gangs, Mostly African and Eastern European/Arab gangs) to operate. They are still very active yes but not like it used to be.

Because you Nigerians always like to announce every little thing whether it's true or false and then you come here spewing hate amongst yourselves, washing your balls in public and you expect others to respect youhuh Funny people

Even Russia, Ukraine, China, the USA are worse cyber criminals but everyday on frontpage is at least one news flash about "yahoo boys" and then you lots go about singing the usual lazy man lyrics of the boys spoiling business for legit hustlers when the so called legit hustlers are just lazy couch warmers up to nothing good. Those people protect themselves outside but you people expose yourselves even if you're least in the underworld

Maybe you don't understand what you wrote here I believe. Which aid is church offering after tragedy?
Go and read what I wrote before. The church / pastors who know what they are doing are doing enough already for the people. Was church giving scholarship to students from primary, secondary to university after tragedy, ? or building homes for the windows after tragedy or digging bore holes for community after tragedy ??
It's just because church or pastors don't announce all these good things on radio or television like your useless government will do something of #100 naira and will use #50 naira for advertisement to show off.
So how can church use his power and wealth to solve root problems?
Are the churches or pastors in political positions like your president, Governors, the executive government, legislature, the judiciary, the local governments, yet you leave all these political thieves who have been stealing our resources from time immemorial and you are blaming pastors just because they are wealthy, is that not baseless ??
Your politicians do not have political will to solve your root problems and you are asking someone who is not in power , someone you didn't vote for to help you solve your problems. Is that not funny and outrageous? I won't respond to you again because you don't have any argument. It's baseless. Silence is golden.
