I know within me that the drug baron must have signed a deal with the oligarchs and their western masters to keep Kanu behind bars no matter what. They avoided doing the dirty job through Binta but they got a shady looking fellow who always does the bid of politicians to do it for them. Posterity will judge us as we all will eventually face the righteous and incorruptible judge someday to answer for our deeds and that's including those that support all forms of evil and injustice. |

Oga Food4Thought, no one is against Igbos packing and leaving Nigeria, as a matter of fact, Nigeria and Nigerians will be better for it. Then the association with criminality will no longer rob one the rest of us Nigerians. Go and conduct referendum before leaving before that is requirement of the constitution. then you can leave, Nigeria will roll out the red carpet for you to leave. Food4Thought: |

Yoruba schlachtfest!. Wow, congratulations to all Nairaland tribalism warriors. We had always made it clear that the man in Aso rock is scripting an outcome to hoodwink Igbo votes. Convict Mazi Kanu quickly, then use his release to bait the SE. Congratulations to the SE for maintaining their dignity in the face of this ugly, orchestrated provocation. We will demonstrate to Ahmed Tinubu that we will not be a pawn in his childish game. Mazi Kanu will be free. To this end, we must work to change this government, send this calamity back to Lagos and save Nigeria. |

Jhoneyman:And to even recall that their leaders were claiming that kanu's release will end the violence which on its own is an admittance that the terrorists in IPOB were killing and destroying their SE to get the FG to free kanu. |

ottersberger:Tinubu will not release Kanu before the elections . He may decide to reduce kanu's sentence on his way out in 2031 and that is wholly dependant on the security situation in the SE. If it cools down, kanu might get a jail sentence reduction and NOT a release. If things heat up, more of kanu's IPOB members will be joining him. |

anonimi:That's where your legislators come in. Even if they can't secure an amendment to see to a referendum clause, they can get a bill passed specifically for the secession of SE out of Nigeria. Senators in the Senate of the affected states will be told to go back to their constituents and secure at least 2/3rd majority from their respective House of Assembly on a referendum . Once that is done , the entire Senate will vote an pass a bill specifically to conduct a referendum in states and senatorial zones that have stated they want to exit Nigeria. The bill will be sent to the President to sign and then modalities for holding the referendum will be decided in the same NASS and this will involve having an external body like the UN, AU , ECOWAS conduct the referendum and once concluded a special transition body setup to finalise Biafra exit within a time frame. Like every divorce , there will be alimonies. The FG will be expected to set you off with some money and may waiver debts incurred under FG guarantee or for projects like the Second Niger bridge. A time frame of 5ys will then be set at which point every citizen of Biafra will cease to be a citizen of Nigeria and will be expected to return back to Biafra. |

shortgun:Honestly, Nigeria is pushing the Igbos every single day. What they forget is that the new breed of Igbos are not those of 1967. If this madness continues there will be retaliation of monumental proportion. The injustice and wickedness is damn too much and only an evil person will see and say otherwise. |
