My fellow Nigerians,

You will recall that I cancelled my trip to the G20 summit in South Africa to enable me coordinate the security efforts at home.

Thanks to the efforts of our security forces over the last few days, all the 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State have been rescued.

I am equally happy that 51 out of the missing students of the Catholic School in Niger State, have been recovered.

I am closely monitoring the security situation nationwide and receiving continuous updates from the frontline.

Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people.

~ Bola Ahmed Tinubu
President & Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces
Federal Republic of Nigeria
Bola Tinubu
President, Federal Republic of Nigeria

Very proactive President. You have done well, I want you to also carry out preventive measures to ensure su h doesn't happen again in the future. Don't allow enemies of this country destabilize your government and give you names that aren't yours.

I was made to understand that they escaped by themselves. If they were recovered why wasn't all the students recued.

While the president must be commended for securing the release of the kidnapped worshippers, he must be aware that he must put modalities in place so that such things must never happen again.

As a matter of urgency, all state governors must ensure security is enhanced at the local government levels. All public places must be secured, including schools, churches, and markets.

States must invest in internal security.

Since these attacks mostly happen at night, there must be drone monitoring and calls interception of those coordinating attacks. The technology is available. Drones can also deliver bombs to take out those going on attacks. It is quite disturbing that we never hear of security agencies engaging kidnappers on their way to kidnapping.

Then the repentant terrorist fraud must be scrapped. All terrorists must face trial and face the maximum penalty if found guilty.

President Tinubu, we need the forest guards now than ever. We also need to coordinate with state governors. It seems to me that state governors are handicapped because they have no control of internal security. Please fast-track legislation for state governors to have their local police for primary security while the federal police is trained to become an elite force that should do the work the army is doing now.

That's good news.

President Tinubu lead Government need to do more in securing this Country.

Most of us criticized Jonathan for security problems in Nigeria. Also we painstakingly endured all negligences during Buhari.

We actually believe that; Tinubu will do better and we didn't give up on him yet. So President Tinubu need to convince us is up to the tasks by facing all these insecurities squarely and make our environment safe for all and sundry.

We can't continue this way where killers will be operation smoothly and walking around freely with dangerous weapons.

If Kanu can get sentenced for terrorism, there should be nothing like Bandits walking around freely or treating bandits with glove hand.

We need to get serious and know what we are doing in this Country.

This is so painful. The statement thanking pBAT for the rescue is pedantic and riling. Why is he the president?
Why should anyone thank him for allowing murderers to be roaming about, freely?
Sir, on this count, Baba scored a fat F9.
Baba, wake up and secure this land

But what actually happened is not explained here. Was ransom paid? What happened to the bandits? Did they go scot free?

Save your long epistle. The military should wipe off all known terror hideouts. Clean them out. The message would've been passed

Same way George Bush was on the Frontline during the Iraqi war, abi? Obidients are really headless Mob. Everything is politics to them. Ordinary Anambra, your Messiah couldn't use his influence and persuade IPOB not to do Monday sit at home , but he wants to command Nigeria. Jokers! If not for Soludo.
