Freshtruth:
Sani abacha was never a bad leader the people who painted him bad are now our oppressors today.

During Abacha time there was jobs creation, law and order even fela was saying anything he likes to power without fear.
Abacha was good in handling security but bad in managing the economy...

It was during Abacha's era that working class Nigerians were cooking with saw dust .... Maybe you were too little to remember..

Which law and order are you talking about... ?

Extra judicial killings were rampant during Abacha's regime. The list is endless

Alfred Rewane... Kudirat Abiola were murdered by Abacha's boys

As bad as Sani Abacha was,but this is the kind of time where you won't have any other option than to miss someone like him .
Miss Abacha, were you alive then? How?

The country was so unsafe. He himself could not leave Abuja for 3 years!

Yet he still died in Aso Rock in the same Abuja.

Whats there to miss about him?

Unbelievable

No truthful person who was an adult during the Abacha years - and who was actually in the country - will agree with these comments.

A lot of these comments are grossly, wildly inaccurate. Hankering after some blissful, glorious past that never existed. undecided

The Abacha administration was most definitely not what these posters are making it out to have been. Sani Abacha was a terrible ruler and that's the truth.

Not sure who you quoted for this your PRC list but seems pretty incorrect.

Anyway Marwa didn't get close to Lt. Gen thanks to OBJ who made sure no political officer had anything to do with the army when he took over.

A stroke of brilliance (for politicians anyway) which I believe is the main reason we've had such an uninterrupted period of democracy in my opinion.

No he hasn't.

Buhari left a gangatuam mess behind. Tinubu is cleaning it up. That is why Okonji Iweala said the economy is stabilising. The country's credit rating has been upgraded twice.

I pity you and your nostalgia for a nonsensical leader. The military laid the foundation for the political system that has brought Nigeria Buhari and now Tinubu. The military government created unproductive states and centralised the country. Abacha renamed. Gongola state to Adamawa state (Adama is the name of a Jihadist in the 1800)
So, from your research what is the meaning of Adama and was he the first person to be called that name or is the name a self named by him?

The military government did not create unproductive States but the various States government and governors made their States unproductive. Let's get that right and truthful about it.

Even as bad as the military was, they largely left us alone and didn’t distrust the citizenry except for the politicians whom they ran out of town.

they stole and didn’t insult us ontop of it. Bandits and terrorists dared not raise their ugly heads anywhere.

Please bring baxk our military since the civilians have proved to be far worse.

Naira was stabilized but the economy was shit! There were severe economic hardship all over the place, families were struggling to buy kero which led to the invention of the local stove known as Abacha stove that they stuffed with sawdust. Infrastructures were in collapse, my Dad had to leave the country to go get the money outside because the country was in shit situation.
Let's not try to whitewash Abacha's tenure here Abeg. Those of us who witnessed it can still remember how bad it was... Although Tinubu don dey surpass am in terms of hardship and corruption. Nobody dey see Tinubu's back when it comes to insecurity sha
