I understand they carried out some updates on the portal.
However, when I try to access the page, I get a blank screen.

Is it because of the update or it is just happening to some selected people?

Who else is experiencing this, please?

Did you later succeed with this? I guess it should be network because I was able to access the platform, and it was seamless.

Mine was seamless, I think you may have to refresh your network and try again

Thank you so much.

Yes, I was able to access the portal.

Because of the update that was carried out recently, I had to click on "Account" at the top right corner of the portal and thereafter click on "Process List" which wasn't there before. I filled in my full name and I was able to see my application.

Thanks

@Orhorho Have you gotten your decision yet ?

Orhorho:
Carry along, the originals of all the documents you uploaded.
Use Paper clips to hold one photocopy behind each original and arrange them according to the checklist so the interviewer don't bounce you quickly.

You will be asked questions like;
1. Do you speak German?
2. Why Germany?
3. Do you have a reference
4. If Yes, Provide details.
5. Do you have any other friend or relative in Germany?
6. If yes, give details about them.
7. Do you already have job offer?
8. If you don't get a job within the period, what will you do?
9. Why Germany?
10. What will you be doing in Germany?
11. Where will you be living in Germany?
12. How long do you intend to stay in Germany?
13. Have you been to Germany before?
14.Have you been to any other European country before?
15 If yes, for what purpose?
15. Have you been applying for jobs in Germany already?

Basically, your answer leads to the next question.
Your course of study will determine the type of question you will be asked on the Written test.
Make sure you have a photocopy of all the document you already uploaded.

As you approach the Consulate area, some guys around will try to convince you to do extra copies of documents you already have or will try to convince you to pay a token to keep your phone for you. Just ignore them. Switch it off when you get to the gate, and as soon as you are admitted in, they will put your phone and other valuables in a locker.

Before you are allowed in, the security will check your printed appointment confirmation and stamp the time of arrival, so make sure to arrive 30 minutes or more before your appointment time. Just follow every instruction from the security and you will be fine.

Make sure to use the phone while speaking so the interviewer doesn't keep repeating Himself/Herself. I didn't realize that early and it made the interviewer repeat himself several times. I pray to receive a positive response from the Consulate.

Lastly, the interviewer won't ask you for any document you didn't upload.

Wish you all the Best.

Dear all

Please, must I submit my proof of funds before I could join the queue for preliminary review?

Not necessary. You can submit your passport in place of it. Then, during preliminary review, you can update to your BA/SL.

You can get your health insurance at any stage, you can even bring it along on your interview day. However, I advise you to wait until they ask you to submit documents for the preliminary review. Make sure the insurance start date matches the date of entry you indicated on your VIDEX form.

I recommend Dr. Walter Insurance. You can register within minutes, and the confirmation will be sent to your email for upload. You don’t need to make any payment in Nigeria; simply choose the “future payment” option. You will only start paying after you arrive in Germany.

What about those of us who filled in a set arrival date in the form we submitted has passed? What should we do, or fill in the health insurance date of entering, and if possible, the set date of arrival on a work contract has also passed? Will they ask for a new work contract with another upfront arrival date? Omo the waiting time is still next year ooo

Have you guys noticed that the consulate hasn’t issued any visas lately? I know several people who had their interviews since September and still haven’t gotten any updates. Processing after the interview used to take about 4–6 weeks, so I’m starting to wonder if something changed or if they’ve closed for the year.

on the contrary, I submitted June ending, preliminary review was November beginning, and I made a mistake which they send me a mail after a week, and I sent the correct doc same day, and they said that I will get response in a week
Did you finally get any response?

would the content of the SL contain the sponsors account statement?. Because I uploaded the declaration of commitment, and they said it needed correction during the preliminary review. Or do I also need to add my own personal account statement?

Oh! I haven't gotten to this stage, and I don't even plan to use SL. So, I wouldn't know.
Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by victorygiven: 5:11pm On Nov 26, 2025
If the arrival date on your VIDEX or work contract has already passed, it’s nothing to worry about, simply use a new future entry date on your health insurance, and most times the embassy will contact you to confirm a fresh arrival date before stamping your visa, and if they need a new work contract with an updated date, they will request it.

Please on the videx form while filling your passport information the Authority That issued your passport is 'Nigeria Immigrantion Service'
you re right. They sent me the correct answer during my preliminary review. And the state of issue should not be LAGOS, RIVERS etc, but the state capital, e.g ikeja, Phc

Hi everyone, Please, has anyone applied for the unskilled opportunity card here or know anyone? I am currently on the waiting list, and two weeks ago I was asked to confirm my application, not the preliminary review. I am in the process of recognizing my trade test certificate. I would appreciate it if I could see anyone using this route. Any tips will be welcome Thank you

Hi everyone,

I got feedback from the embassy today, one of the corrections they're asking is to upload the resident permit of my reference in germany, the reference i submitted is in america, not sure how to go about this.

I do have colleagues who're willing to do this, I just wanna be sure it won't contradict my application. I also just cancelled the apartment i booked, I booked it a year ago and would have been charged this year, so my question is, is this the person's resident permit they need? not sure they'd feel comfortable handing it out.

They also requested for a parent's attestation/affidavit and a reconciliation of names, {one name came before the other in waec and testimonial}.

Anyone here who's scaled through the resident permit upload should pls help out.
Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Adelawal2011: 6:26pm On Nov 28, 2025
Your reference person must be living in Germany. I would suggest you update your videx form and replace your reference person with someone in germany and then upload his German resident permit or National Id card and German passport if he is a German Citizen.
Concerning the affidavit from you parents. I believe it relates to your birth certificate, you need to go to any high court in Nigeria and get an affidavit of birth attestation sworn by your father or your mother if your father is deceased. Then for the name inconsistency, you also need an affidavit from the high court sworn by you stating the names and clarifying that all the names belongs to you.

Are you saying, everyone who's gotten the opportunity card had a reference from germany?
