According to a Member of the Electoral committee, two aspirants picked the nomination form of the party. These are:

Sen. Ademola Adeleke, who according to the official, has resigned his membership of the PDP, and...

Hon. Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola.

According to the official, votes for Sen. Ademola Adeleke will be invalid since he has resigned his membership of the party.

Osun PDP Governorship Primary – 957 Delegates Accredited

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State is moving ahead with its governorship primary despite Governor Ademola Adeleke’s recent resignation from the party. By 11:43 a.m. on Tuesday, the party’s electoral committee, led by chairman Humphrey Abba, had finished accrediting delegates. Out of the 990 delegates expected from the state’s 30 LGAs, 957 have been cleared for voting, and balloting is expected to start shortly .

The committee’s secretary, Sunday Solari, confirmed that the two candidates on the ballot are Governor Adeleke (who has now left the PDP) and Adebayo Adedamola. National Organising Secretary Theophilus Shan reiterated that the primary will proceed as scheduled, despite the governor’s exit.

There is confusion over the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship primaries for Osun, where Governor Ademola Adeleke is the sole contestant.

The confusion arose on Monday by conflicting directives issued by the National Working Committee (NWC) and the Osun state chapter of the party over the status of the primaries fixed for Tuesday, December 2.

While the Tanimu Turaki-led NWC reaffirmed that the primaries would be held as scheduled, the Osun chapter countered that it had been postponed on account of the internal leadership crisis rocking the opposition party.

The National Organising Secretary of the Turaki camp, Honourable Theophilus Dakas Shan, in a statement in Abuja, asked party members to turn out on Tuesday to elect their governorship candidate.

The parry said, “Sequel to the earlier notice of 28th October, 2025 to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of our Party’s gubernatorial primaries, and the successful completion of congresses to elect ad-hoc delegates and National delegates in Osun State on the 24th and 29th of November, 2025, the Party hereby reminds strategic stakeholders and the general public that the primaries to elect the gubernatorial candidate will hold as follows.”

The camp named Atlantis Multipurpose Hall, Ring road, Osogbo, as the venue of the primaries to begin at 10a.m.

It added, “Furthermore, the Electoral Committee for the Primaries has been constituted and will oversee the conduct of the primaries accordingly.

PDP is completely dead in Osun State. Adeleke's defeat is imminent.

Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola (FRYO) has emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Osun 2026 Governorship Election.

According to the poll official who announced the results, Adebayo secured 919 votes out of the 957 accredited votes.
He defeated Governor Ademola Adeleke to clinch the party’s ticket.

African man doesn't do something that he doesn't gain from, someone bank account will be fat today

What are they voting for?

I am disappointed at Adeleke because we are not seeing records of his achievements. This is a man that should have proven his political opponents wrong by pursuing giant strides and ensuring uncommon transformation in the State to earn the hearts of the people. Nigerian politicians are too greedy.
