Good evening chiefs. Please these are conservative mutual funds on cowrywise and that trustbanc money market fund seems to have the highest rates. I'd appreciate your input if it is safe to invest with them through the cowrywise platform?
Please can you share where you accessed this information for presiding rates across different money markets. Thanks

Well noted. I have used the link on your signature to open an account. Quick question please. If they allow dollar cash deposits, how do they pay out?
Payout is always by transfer to your registered dom account. Cash payout is not allowed.

Please, if you don't mind, you can dm me for other things that may not be proper to say here.

Thank you for your patronage. It's not taken for granted.

EARN MORE ON YOUR DOLLARS

If you earn in dollars or have dollars, don't limit your earning opportunity. You actually store value to a large extent, hedge against inflation and devaluation of local currency, by keeping your dollars in a domiciliary account, but you will create more value and earn more by keeping your dollars in the Norrenberger Dollar Fund (NDF), and earn 9.46% of your capital with the option of compounding

It is safe to invest with them.
In your analysis always factor in management fee and average rate over a period of time so you can know exactly what is left.
Trustbanc management fee is 1.4%.
In Oct 17, their rate was also 17.59% so no rate is fixed except you are investing in 'managed portfolio'.
I think their rate is fine considering that others who have lower management fees also come with lesser rate.
This is why your portfolio needs to be distributed.
Goodluck!
Thanks chief🙏

Narration becomes optional once you have a personalized account. The reason for narration when you use the collection account is for identification and easy tracing of your funds to your MMF account. The essence of personalizing it is such that no other investor uses that account. No need to trace once you fund the personalized account.

All channels of funding continue to work, except you receive an email stating otherwise.

@emmasoft . This Norrenberger are they under any bank. We know FBNQuest is first bank, stanbic is stanbic, UBA and the rest so which one is Norrenberger

This is actually incorrect, these companies that you have listed are separate entities distinct from the banks that you have mentioned (they used to be under the same umbrella but not anymore) . Different scope of business and regulators, if something were to happen to FBNQuest for example, First bank isn't going to refund your investment nor is it their business

A question for you. Let's not use FBN question considering FBN HoldCo is selling their shares in FBN Quest soon. Take for instance GTB HoldCo they have an assest management entity.

Would you say even though the Holdco and Subco are distinct entity, the HoldCo can't be liable to some extent for the subco activities??

toby4ever:

@toby4ever, please note that Norrenberger is a financial services group fully regulated by the SEC, with interests spanning Asset Management, Insurance, Pension, and more.

It’s important to understand that no MDB engages in fund management, and no fund manager operates under any bank in terms of responsibilities or oversight. While it is true that some HoldCos—like Stanbic, FCMB, etc. have asset management subsidiaries, they are completely separate entities with different regulators and independent operations. CBN regulates MDBs, while the SEC regulates Asset Management Companies.

As @IamtheDef rightly stated, there is no operational connection between Stanbic Bank and Stanbic Asset Management when issues arise concerning your investment. An investor cannot claim a kobo from Stanbic Bank for an investment made with Stanbic Asset Management, because the bank is not the custodian of that investment.

Please understand that your money is not inherently safer because a fund manager belongs to the same HoldCo as a bank. What determines the level of safety or risk associated with your investment is the type of mutual fund, not the identity or popularity of the fund manager.

Your investment carries the same risk profile whether the fund manager is a newly established company or one that has existed for 20 years. The safety of your investment is tied to the nature of the fund, not the age or brand of the manager.

A Money Market Fund (MMF) remains low-risk, regardless of who manages it.

Equity funds remain higher-risk, regardless of which stockbroker or manager you use.

Key things to look for in a fund manager before making a decision:

A registered and regulated Fund Manager

A Custodian Bank

Trustees

SEC regulation and compliance

Any fund manager with the above parties to the fund, fit to deal with. Remember, popularity does not guarantee safety.

I have to state the above based on some feedback I always get from different folks, not necessarily because of the question from @toby4ever

Yes you could use any of them.

The major advantage of using the specilized account is You don't have to specify your eAccount number.

But can I pay with any account including my company account?

YES

in fact, I've got few clients whom I gave my Specialized account number for payments. That way, any payment made by them is automatically invested.

So YES, you could use any account (including POS) to fund your account. Just ensure to include your eAccount number when using the nonSpecialized collection account.
Re: Mutual Funds by bassdow: 8:40pm On Dec 04, 2025
for those of us who don't own or use smartPhones . You could always make payment using https://quickteller.com . Kindly ignore those (especially bank workers) who try to make it look like you can only use the apps especially in making payments. Me for the past 5-years dey use small phone yet dey fund accounts (both mine and a few other people).

To be honest, I don't even know what most apps including those of standbic looks like.

Download the Stanbic Bank app 3.0, which is the new app, and you will see the BluNest module, which replaced the mutual funds module. Use the same login details, and you will be fine.

If you have not been paid interest into your registered bank account, it means you opted for interest reinvestment. Otherwise, check your bank statement; your interest would have been paid, or call the customer care to complain if you can't see your interest added to your capital at the end of each month in the past two quarters.

I have a question, for those investing through a third party digital bank for instance i can access ARM mutual funds through palmpay or cowrywise. What happens if the third party goes down? Can our funds be accessed directly from say ARM app or website or we would need to visit ARM to access the funds?

How do I get specialized account ?
And what's the difference between e-account and specialized account ?

major difference between both of them is the Specialized account is unique for just you alone. It's an account just for you alone + you don't need specify your eAccount number when funding your account. Just see the Specialized account as your own personal bank account except the money goes into your investment account

While the other account held at UBA is a general account for everyone else BUT you must specify your eAccount number as that's what differenciates you from the other person.

As per what eAccount is, this is your Stanbic IBTC Asset Management account number. Just see it as your internal username with the platform tied to your investment package. You only need it to identify your investment package

To access your Specialized bank account details:

Login and go to https://blunest.stanbicibtcassetmanagement.com/wallets/ngn/ and you would see the image below

if not registered, then first go to https://www.stanbicibtcfundsmanagement.com/invest-now-l8yyj3l8 and register before doing the above.

Mind you, I am using the web version and not mobile app.
