For anything more than 1 year, your interest will not be given upfront, and you can never get 20% for 1 year, you can only get that if you are locking for 2 years

But Stanbic Bank didn’t remove the WHT from Treasury Bill I bought from their secondary market last Friday or are they waiting till at maturity ?? I got around 15.7% for a year tenure and no WHT was deducted only some charges

Good afternoon everyone, please I want to ask if it is possible to liquidate treasury bills with Stanbic bank before maturityhuh
Yes it's possible. Have you collected interest? Note that you won't get face value since you didn't wait till maturity

EARN MORE ON YOUR DOLLARS

If you earn in dollars or have dollars, don't limit your earning opportunity. You actually store value to a large extent, hedge against inflation and devaluation of local currency, by keeping your dollars in a domiciliary account, but you will create more value and earn more by keeping your dollars in the Norrenberger Dollar Fund (NDF), and earn 9.46% of your capital with the option of compounding

Pls I can't access Stanbic link for Treasury bill for some days now, are they not using the link again? Is there a new method of doing it

Exactly, It wasn't communicated at the beginning of investment nor was it included in the terms so why steal from people at the end of their investments. This is anyhowness and should not be allowed. The implementation should start come 2026. Simple as ABC. What they have just done is daylight robbery.
I came earlier to mentioned how GTB deducted WHT which wasn't communicated to me in October, last month my investment mature again after six months in another bank, I have been waiting to see if they will deduct the WHT is a month now no deduction was made, I don't understand ,is it that some bank use it to rob investors, pls people who invested with Stanbic did they deduct WHT

Just got paid today. Wish I had invested much more and clock in the 19% for 7years. grin
This was my thought when I invested in my last sukuk of 15.75%, I wish I had invested more but boom devaluation/inflation set in then I wish I had never invested in it at all. The purpose why I made that investment has been defeated, which is to pay for my children school fee, now school fees have been increased by 50%, naira investment isn't just encouraging at all.

Honestly, na better thunder go fire some account officers, they are very very useless and part of our national crisis, they are frustrating retail investors from investing in treasury bills and other fixed income, they will play every trick in the book to delay or convince you to fixed your money in their useless deposit..

I am going to the village right now, to report some of them to my village people, some account officers will not see 2026, their own is getting too much....
Good morning, I’ve just come across your comment and I might have fallen for the same trick. My investment attained maturity yesterday and I reached out to my account offer to go through what the rates are and as well as re investing; he immediately responded;

His job is on the line and there is pressure to close the year well. He pleaded that I delay the investment till early next year or late December. He also mentioned Investment rates are usually lower towards the end of the year. And that he would advise that I invest the money around the end of the month or early January.

Is this a trick; He’s just been assigned as my account officer and yesterday was the first time I communicated with him.

I would appreciate if anyone is able to share their experience so I’d know what I’m getting into!

Thank you

I am also in this boat (11.2% for 7yrs since 2020). This was my very first time!
Since then I have been investing in the sukuk every year so my average is now above 17%.
You just have to keep investing so you can have a nice average.

It seems the WHT on Treasury bill has been suspended quietly due to low subscription and FX outflow .
