Have you been debited?
Educationalserv:
It seems the WHT on Treasury bill has been suspended quietly due to low subscription and FX outflow .

Good morning, I’ve just come across your comment and I might have fallen for the same trick. My investment attained maturity yesterday and I reached out to my account offer to go through what the rates are and as well as re investing; he immediately responded;

His job is on the line and there is pressure to close the year well. He pleaded that I delay the investment till early next year or late December. He also mentioned Investment rates are usually lower towards the end of the year. And that he would advise that I invest the money around the end of the month or early January.

Is this a trick; He’s just been assigned as my account officer and yesterday was the first time I communicated with him.

I would appreciate if anyone is able to share their experience so I’d know what I’m getting into!

Thank you
He has opened up to you that you leaving the money there is to help him meet target. So it's now left for you to help him if you wish to. No

Most definitely GTB. My worries now is the fact they they may still deduct another WHT when you reinvest
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Curry30: 7:46pm On Dec 04, 2025
The anyhowness of Nigeria is so shameful. My TBills matured today and I was deducted WHT. This is criminal to say the least

Please can I invest in T-Bills using Stanbic IBTC Blunest or their website?
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by emmasoft(m): 10:58pm On Dec 04, 2025
FACTOR IN WHT ON TBILLS GOING FORWARD
Folks, I advise you guys to factor WHT into your gains going forward. The earlier you do this, the better, or go for alternatives so that you don't always feel disappointed. WHT has come to stay till another government policy says otherwise, just as it happened in 2012.
The WHT tax holiday ended in 2022. Let's understand this for our mental health.

My opinion, though.

Stanbic will deduct their WHT at maturity

Pls how did you invest in Treasury bill, with Stanbic.did you visit the bank ,I have been using their link before but the link is not going through again
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Oyibopepe2000: 10:21am On Dec 05, 2025
Firstly 10% WHT is too much. Especially for individuals
Secondly, it should be deducted at the time of investment especially if the investor is taking an upfront interest payment. This enables the investor to accept whatever is paid to them and organize themselves on that amount with their capital intact.
Tampering with someone's capital at maturity is far more infuriating. It simply makes no sense.
Imagine I was recently debited a WHT of a previous investment from an upfront interest of a recent investment because they failed to debit it at maturity after the money was moved and the account left empty for almost a month.
It's so disorganized and leaves room for exploitation.

With this CBN regime, T bill rates tend to move with inflation. The more they have inflation under control, the less likely it will go up.

na 2026 we go know how far. Even industry experts and stakeholders ain't 100% yet so make we just dey look though they have informed us they would start deducting WHT but expect some delays and inconsistencies while they iron things out and that includes modifying their systems and setting up the necessary settings.

Yes you could do it via blueNest

if not registered, then first go to https://www.stanbicibtcfundsmanagement.com/invest-now-l8yyj3l8 and register.

Then go to this page https://blunest.stanbicibtcassetmanagement.com/explore/treasury-bills/ and invest.

But mind you, it's not always available so you would have to check it out especially Modays to Thursdays.

if you 're investing up to 50-million naira and above, would pay you to do so via the Primary market so as to enjoy better rates though the secondary markets is more available

They said they are having a downtime on the link, so u can send a mail to their CC and copy ur account officer. However, ur account officer can initiate it for u at branch level, or u can visit any branch.
