People say this things and make it look like someone was threatened or were caged.
The issue of blood transfusion or any other Bible related instructions are issues of conscience.
As far as I know in JW, nobody will threaten you with disfellowship with something that you also have to decide on. After all, everyone answers to God directly.
If she, out of her respect to God says she won't accept blood as explicitly warned against in the Bible because she's believes the Bible, that should be respected. This is not about religion. This is about someone demonstrating faith in her convictions.
That aside, medical technology has evolved so much that top doctors now warn against blood transfusion because of the obvious side effects that comes with it.
When people drag JWs over a member's decision, they make it look like those people were compelled to make those decisions. Nobody gets compelled to do anything. It's solely an individual thing.

Popular personal shopper and market plug on X, Aunty Esther, has sparked a fresh wave of reactions after it was revealed that she declined a blood transfusion recommended by doctors as part of her cancer treatment.

Aunty Esther shared earlier that her test results were out and the cancer was found in her breast and armpit. She thanked everyone who donated towards her treatment and assured the public that updates would keep coming.

But shortly after, one of the fundraiser coordinators, Sir Dickson, announced that he and another volunteer doctor were stepping away from handling her case. According to him, doctors advised that she undergo a blood transfusion to stabilise her levels before chemotherapy, but she refused on religious grounds as a Jehovah’s Witness.

He added that her church members reportedly warned she would be disfellowshipped if she accepted blood, while some family members allegedly insisted that “whatever happens is God’s will.” He said that while her belief is respected, they cannot continue leading a fundraiser where the patient is rejecting the ideal treatment that could save her life.
This is a non-issue.

The Jehovah's Witness adherents have an alternative method to "blood transfusion" which does NOT involve the exchange of blood so she can try that out by having it imported for her. I read about that alternative to blood transfusion [Erythropoietin (EPO)] in one of the published copies of AWAKE over 25 years ago and it was very revealing. So, she should go for that option.

Erythropoietin (EPO): A synthetic hormone that stimulates the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells.

NO SHIFTING OF GOAL POST HERE, WHAT'S THE ESSENCE OF DISOBEYING GOD CLEAR COMMAND RECORDED AT ACTS 15:20, 28-29 (READ) BY TAKING A BLOOD TRANSFUSION KNOWING YOU WILL EITHER DIE WHILE TAKING THE TRANSFUSION OR AFTERWARDS, HOW LONG WILL YOU LIVE? DOES BLOOD TRANSFUSION MEANS YOU WILL NOT DIE EVENTUALLY? HAVEN'T YOU SEEN OR HEARD LOT OF PEOPLE DIE WHILE TAKING OR THERE AFTER?

The Bible is God's instructions to man, so if you are convinced about that you don't have to be selective as to which of the commands suits your narrative, the Bible warns us to abstain from blood so it's not supposed to be a religion thing but a command from God Almighty, so let those who wants to obey do so, stop the criticism

JW is a cult and not even a religion. Life is deeper than we see on the surface level. While we do not pray for misfortune on anyone, we want to strictly say that most times, people get a dose of their medicine. Those people are insensitive and someone here said this person in question has been insensitive to other people's plight. Be that as it may, going by their belief system, they should just stay home and quietly die if their god cannot save them when terminal diseases hit them, since they don't believe in medical sciences. Someone else was talking about eternal life for who? See, eternal life is only for a man who has confessed and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Saviour. Jehos will never do that hence, are at risk of hellfire when they die. And funny thing is they do not believe in God sending any man to hellfire.

A colleague was once diagnosed with brain tumor, and in the process of her treatment was recommended for blood transfusion; for the same reasons of being a Jehovah's Witness, she rejected the blood transfusion. She is LATE now.

Another colleague had multiple cysts in her liver. She is Apostolic Faith where they don't use Science-related drugs. This one is wise, she put religion aside and ran to the hospital. Many tests were done and treatment recommended. As she was praying on one side, she was religiously using her drugs on the other side. Now she's alive to tell her story.

Namaster:
Religion is a DISEASE!

Imagine REJECTING a recommended lifesaving medical procedure because it's against the tenets of a religion devised by people when the peak of medical knowledge was amputation and leeching.

Pure MADNESS!

You are sick with cancer and you're rejecting the treatments recommended by Medical Professionals while saying "whatever happens is god's will."

Yet same people will tell you that NOTHING happens without God's approval. So the medical innovation that led to blood transfusion is inherently God's will too.

But because it's not being manifested through Pulpit BANDITS, you are discounting it.

Religion is a KILLER!

What this lady is doing is NOT different from a suicide bomber who blow himself up with the promise of 72 virgins—both of them will die in VAIN.

The worst part of all this that the Religious Leaders of this people would be on the first flight to Europe if they do much as cough funny.

Meanwhile, someone is here REJECTING treatment for cancer in the name of religion.

Religion is only a killer to the one in spiritual illiteracy, lack of understanding and forgetful believers.

Religion kicked started from Cain and Abel, one did God and was give a good report.
Hebrews 11vs4
"By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by his faith, though he is dead, he still speaks."
While the other chose to do evil.
"We should not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous."

Since time immemorial, even to today, life still remains about choice and Jesus Christ is calling You to take on Him and let him break that line between you and your maker so that after You walk together here in mortality,He will lead you safely back home hand in hand in love to your Heavenly Father of Love and Light.

She did not refuse blood transfusion because she would be disfellowshipped as some have pointed. It was her own resolve. She might have said that if true, to shift responsibility.

She could take the transfusion discreetly. She could even damn the consequences if discovered. Even if disfellowshipped, at a point, she would be reinstated.

It was her personal decision.

All of you Jehovah’s witnesses are just deceiving yourself. Blood transfusion was never slated in the bible but introduced by Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society (governing organisation of your religion). And I want to believe its how they understand those scripture you all quoted that made them to bring out those human doctrine. In all the scriptures you quoted, if you read the pre and post text, you will realize that the bible is talking about not eating animals blood but to be pour on the surface of the earth. I won't blame you all because people don't read bible again but just dogmatically follows what their religious leaders says. People perish for lack of knowledge, and how do you lack knowledge? by not reading to know facts.

"Imported to her" as if Nigeria is located in one village deep in the jungle. EPO is located everywhere in Nigeria, and it's not the Messiah you think it is. The way it works is to help the body form it's own red blood cells, instead of just receiving those red blood cells in the form of blood transfusion. Do you know how many weeks it takes for blood cells to be formed? It's like telling someone who needs a place to sleep for one night to build his own house instead of just getting a hotel room.

A judge was brought into the hospital who overruled her pastor who was in Nigeria misbehaving. They operated on her and she's still alive today. They put some kind of valve in her heart, according to her.

I also have a nurse friend in US who told me a similar story, but of a patient who got shot. The mother was crying but her faith made her indecisive. A judge handled the matter. So na you dey talk wetin you no know.

The above quoted parts of your comment, where you had to introduce boldface lie and deciet, is very telling. Like, let's not even talk about the entire Nigeria. Let's talk about a single state, maybe the state you're resident in. I mean, what is the population of JWs in this one state out of a possible 36 states, and how many of these people do you have direct control over their actions for you to use the word "nobody"? This is so disheartening and a betrayal of the generosity of her well-wishers.

Little wonder the 2 fundraisers had to stand down from her matter since she was selective of her treatment due to her religious proclivity.

She may not survive cancer chemotherapy without correcting the anemia as the treatment would further worsen the anemia in most instances.

It's a tough call
unfortunately the injection which could raise her blood level is contraindicated in cancer patients.
