Mathematically, there's actually plenty of time for Osimhen. By 2034, he'll be 36 at the most. Ronaldo is in his 40s and still gunning for one last shot at World Cup glory.

Osimhen will be at the absolute peak of his power for the 2030 World Cup (if we don't bottle qualification again). 2-3 years younger than Messi was for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. So I guess that's a good thing.

Saudi will likely be his last ever World Cup appearance. Depending on his form by then, he might even keep starting games, especially if there's still no one else to carry the mantle of super striker for the national team by 2034. Worst case, he'll be coming off the bench.

It all comes down to what Osimhen wants for himself and whether his form appreciates or depreciates over time.
sure but remember players like ronaldo are rare. Most footballers are done by 34/35 and Ronaldo is not injury prone as osimhen. Dude is very fit and besides he has a thousand goals to look out for. Atleast make he try go one world cup

Don't quote me, but word on the street is that there might yet be another backdoor for Nigeria. I can't disclose my sources but CAF and FIFA are squabbling behind the scenes over inconsistent eligibility rules and stipulations. And guess who's on our side? 👀

I'm not even saying this as someone being hopeful because I'm honestly not sure if I want what I'm hearing to be true because it will make us the most hated and suspect country in this World Cup cycle.

My brother is a member of FIFA legal team,a reputable lawyer and SAN,I discussed this with him and he said it would be hard for us to make it but if there is any loophole which can only be player eligibility especially on national switched then we are free to go...

dont even know why you are bothered about being hated. They already hate us for our success so any new hate will have to join the line.

Are you referring to the “doubts” about Aaron Wan Bissaka’s eligibility to play for DR Congo?

[quote author=Odunayaw post=137707521]Yarn me abeg 😳

They didn’t qualify though but this is what happened;

In September 2013, Cape Verde beat Tunisia 2–0 in the final match of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers (CAF Group B), which meant Cape Verde topped the group and Tunisia were eliminated. However, Cape Verde had fielded an ineligible player (Fernando Varela) who should have been suspended.

FIFA overturned the result and awarded the match 3–0 to Tunisia. With those three awarded points, Tunisia moved to first place in the group.

Tunisia advanced to the final playoff round of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers because of the disqualification of Cape Verde.

They did not qualify for the World Cup itself (they lost in the playoff to Cameroon), but they did qualify to the final qualifying round due to the ruling.

Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Frederick must go to 2026 World cup. When Osasu Obayiuwana first reported it I knew something was cooking. And when I saw yesterday's draws with some groups with only three teams, it was a confirmation.

I noticed from Wikipedia that Wan Bissaka played friendly matches for DRC before he was cleared to start playing officially. Is that right?
