In all my life, I've never come across any large group of indigenous Hausa or Fulani people drinking beer or ogogoro together.

But here in the south, people drink beer, palm wine and ogogoro everyday. Including women and children.

Men, I have lived in the north before, the smoke and consume alcohol more than any other.
You don't know they live in pretence.
I have seen Hisba officers consumed beer like hell and after the chew garlic

For North Central, because of Benue and Plateau States, I may not dispute the statistics. I vehemently disagree with the % from the South Eas and South South.

When a whole neighbourhood is called Oniparaga in the SW, what else do you need to hear before you'll agree that the people there a majority drunks. There's also another area called Onipetesi in the SW. Alcohol drinks make up 80% of your region. Monkey tail, Agbo and all those concoctions are daily gulped by your women.

The irony

The aim of this statistic is to paint the North west black because of the work of Hisbah. It's very difficult to find a real Hausa man taking alcohol. And even if drugs are included in the statistics North west can not come close to first position. I'm born and brought up in Benue state and i can swear with my life that alcohol consumption in Benue state alone is more than the entire North west states not to talk of Plateau state
