Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is a HUGE DOUBT for AFCON 2025

• Benjamin Frederick - Out
• William Troost-Ekong - Retired
• Stanley Nwabali - Doubtful

Ghana own is valid. I dont see them picking more than one point honestly. But South Africa might pull a shocker. They may not have big names but the team bond alone few countries can match.
This.

Hating aside, I see South Africa being one of the best performing African teams in the WC group stages. Both Mexico and South Korea can be very inconsistent. You can never really tell what to expect from them.

As a matter of fact, I'd consider it a bottle job by SA if they don't qualify from this group. They should at least finish among the best 3rd place teams.

Stanley Nwabali is set to miss AFCON. It is reported that he aggravated his injury woes at the playoffs in Morocco.
We could be seeing a potential call-up of Wrexham FC's young goalkeeper, Arthur Okonkwo.
Okonkwo will not leave Wrexham for Afcon, we have to manage with Okoye, Amas, Adeleye/Uzoho

Okoye starts for Udinese, SE eligible defender Marcandalli starts for Genoa

My fear for Nwabali is...if Okoye does very well and we manage to go all the way at this AFCON... E go hard for Nwabali to collect that No 1 spot back.

true for south africa but their afcon form will be the judge of that. That bozo gene in them has still not left them completely. Their campaign was almost derailed by zimbabwe at the final stage so i still dont trust them to perform. And also considering this is the first world cup they will directly qualify to since 2002. I guess we will know the answer in 7 months time.

No need to fear. If it goes that way then it's a blessing to have two solid GKs

Had it been our donkeys capitalized on the lifeline Nwabali provided during the pk at playoffs we for no care who does what at AFCON

Lol If you watched the Zim game you will know that this doesn't count. What happened to them against Zimbabwe can literally happen to any top African side.

Zim leaving that game with a draw was a miracle.

What killed our football

1)Over reliance on rejected foreign born players
2) Top five league obsession
3) Salisu Yusuf and his godfathers
4) Scouts, agents and godfathers that hijacked our age grade football making it difficult to produce and graduate quality footballers.
Add media to the list but no 1 reason is Azamen in glasshouse

Ebenezer Akinsanmiro created four chances in 45 minutes of play.

His stats are:
Accurate passes 28/29 (97%)
Chances created 4
Touches 37
Touches in opposition box 2
Successful dribbles 2/2 (100%)
Passes into final third 8
Accurate crosses 1/2 (50%)
Accurate long balls 5/5 (100%)
Dispossessed 0
Tackles 1
Blocks 0
Clearances 0
Interceptions 0
Recoveries 3
Dribbled past 1
Ground duels won 3/5 (60%)
Aerial duels won 0/1 (0%)
Was fouled 0
Fouls committed 1

We need this kind of creative midfielder.
Imagine a midfielder that dribbles like a winger, good at crosses and long balls.
He will surely make an excellent addition.

Is Osimhen foreign born?

Isn't he the one that's heavily relied upon?

There it is — full wicked village people mode activated. The moment you start celebrating strangers just to spite your own, you’ve officially graduated with honours from the School of Village Witchcraft. Because you didn’t make it out, now you’re ready to sprinkle ancestral pepper on anyone else who tries. Don’t worry, we truly don’t care; your ‘payback’ has the same power as a village curse thrown at someone already living in the city — absolutely none.

I’ve been saying this for ages. Nigeria no longer has a football identity of its own. Everything now depends on foreign rescue missions — foreign-born players, foreign leagues ...

They are uncountable, they didn't even give them chance to call them up and they switched.
Ziyech
Brahim Diaz
Talbi
Ben Seghir
And others
They make Morocco their plan A

Crap. None of these players would’ve been selected by the country of birth at the time they switched to Morocco. Absolutely none.

You’re even mentioning Brahim Diaz that Spain literally frustrated. Shey you no Dey follow ball ni?

The only thing you’ll say and I’ll agree is that they don’t waste much time after Morocco approaches unlike ours that can dribble us for years. Morocco has a good system already so they’re attractive.

But coming here to say that players are choosing Morocco over their countries of birth is a big fat ROBISH LIE.

There’s no player that Netherland or Spain or France will invite and they will decline it to choose Morocco instead. Eh no fit happen.

A lot of Moroccoan players played age grade football for their countries of birth and switched to Morocco after they couldn’t get into the senior squad.

you had to inject lots of foreign born/based players in your squad for you to have a chance at qualifying to the world cup in decades. Even your coach is a foreigner. You have not even qualified yet so please stop the preaching, you are not any better.
