If not for marriage/children, quite alot of men would've lives a more better and fulfilled lives. Responsible men are only born to work for their wives and children, the funniest thing is that, there is no guarantee they will stay with you at old age, most especially children.

And you think everyone that gets married is spending quality time with their kids in old age?

Even in the UK, they have these adult day cares, and sometimes the kids pay for their parents to be there but barely ever visit for months. Talk about lonely! Having kids is such a gamble—sometimes you luck out with good ones, and sometimes they're just not great.

If your uncle has decent insurance, he should totally look into getting a nanny or maybe even invite one of his brother’s kids to come hang out and keep him company. I kinda doubt he’s actually lonely, though.

If you are blessed enough to raise a family of your own, then do it because if you don’t you are going to regret wasting that blessed life not raising a family of your own when you are older and have no one around you. It can be very lonely at old age. You won’t be able to go to places or do the things you are doing at this younger age to keep yourself occupied and happy.
