Burob:
This directive should be by the local government, not the federal government.

How can the federal government effectively do so from Abuja?
When you have dumb governors and LG chairmen, what can the president do? Just go ahead and do it yourself otherwise if they kidnap one person in a LG they will call the president.

This Forest Guards will be another failed project since it's being controlled and recruited by federal government.

Allow states handle the Forest Guards, and let it be strictly indigenous and not another federal Policing nonsense that destroyed Nigeria.

How can a Fulani man from Adamawa be in charge of securing a forest in Uguta Imo state or a Kanuri man from Borno be in charge of securing the forests in Ilesa Osun state, how can it work?

Tinubu please stop playing politics with people's lives, Forest Guards should be handled by State Governors and with State Police, they can secure their states since it's indigenes that will be working in their state command.

State controlled Forest Guards and State Police are the only way to curb insecurity in Nigeria today.

Hope they will be adequately armed with high caliber rifles like what the kidnappers/terrorists and bandits who lurk in these forests also carry?

Issuing low caliber daneguns to them will make them sitting ducks for target practice.

Instead of the multiplicity of arm bearing apparati within our security framework, what stops the government from sending a bill for the creation of state police?

We have too many agencies duplicating the duties of the police today.

Good call all the same.

You can set up state police through bill but through constitutional amendment. The national Assembly have started but the process is complex.

I understand your submission.

The president is still hesitant that's why the bill is not gaining traction.

This rubber stamp assembly would have "finished work" if small kola was sent their way.

I didn't mean a simple bill but a constitution alteration bill which I know will have to be passed by 2/3rd majority in both houses of the National Assembly and transmitted to the states houses of assembly and must have 24 out of 36 before it comes back to the national Assembly for amendment and then goes to the president for assent and Gazette.

It is still a bill that has kick started the process.
