as @ZiggyZiggy said i can confirm, they ask for additional document which is the "residence permit of your reference" so yes if you dont know any permanent residence that lives in germany, this route has now become impossible for you, not everyone will hand out a sensitive document like this.

I guess they have stopped receiving new applications from what I noticed on my dashboard

this isn't true, if you chose reference instead or org/education, you'd have to provide PR of the said reference in germany. If you chose the later, your chosen residence info should suffice.

Can you be more clear?

Check your email inbox and spam to see if the asked you to come for another interview? because I was asked to come for a second interview after 3 weeks of my first interview, the sent me an email and I saw it on my spam, but that was before the website upgrade.

If they didnt send you any email, then you don't need to do anything. don't book another appointment. your portal will soon change to 'decision pending'.

Meanwhile what was it showing before the upgrade after your interview?
Thanks for the response.

Before the upgrade it was showing ''Application Submitted" and ''Make an appointment" and it seemed normal because it didnt show any ''Action required'' and ''Appointment required''
Is the second interview a new requirement or was it specific to your application.

Instead of choosing org/education, I chose reference. I guess this was the reason they asked for the PR document, I have updated it to the later and now attached proof of residence.

Good day everyone. Trust you are all doing good. Please I wanted to know if medical doctors could also apply for the chancenkarte. If the answer is yes: would they need a defizitbescheid or would a ZAB statement of comparability suffice?
I recognise there may be a limited number of medical doctors going down this path, so I would be grateful if anyone who has an idea about this responds. Thanks in anticipation
Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by victorygiven: 8:00pm On Dec 08, 2025
As a medical doctor, your degree falls under a regulated profession, so a Defizitbescheid is more important and necessary. A ZAB statement of comparability is not enough.

Also, make sure you have proof of German language skills. There have been cases where doctors and nurses were rejected and advised to obtain a Defizitbescheid and language certification.

As a medical professional, you work directly with patients, so it is crucial to know medical terminology in German. Your job deals with lives, so language proficiency is essential.

I recommend doing more research, and I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully, someone else will also comment and provide additional guidance.

Hello guys,
I have done my interview since last month

During the interview, the lady asked me to provide the date of Birth of my reference. I did not have it there. I requested that she allows me go out and get it but she declined and said I should send her a mail instead when I get home.

I did that and sent a mail with my reference details
The email address is info@lago.diplo.de

Up on till now I haven't gotten a feedback from the mail. To eve confirm if the lady in question has seen it. Who has had similar situations

Hope this won't affect my chances.

Guys what doyou suggesst I do?

Hi everyone, so I updated the reference to an org/school yesterday and got this feedback today "This is a hotel reservation and not copy of residence permit for the reference person. Change the caption you have here since you would be staying in a hotel. " how do I change a platform caption? I didn't add the residence permit caption, I am seriously confused, who else has experienced this or can provide any sort of insight.

As long as your visa hasn’t been rejected yet, that’s a plus. But I’ll suggest sending a follow-up email.

Did you select “Reference person” as the type of reference?

seems like he did, that's the only reason they'd be asking for that document
Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by charlesklaus(m): 7:48am On Dec 10, 2025
Date of birth is not a document. It seems they only wanted to know the date. Right, @Hommyking?

A date of birth is different from a birth certificate.

Talk2Bella:

@Talk2Bella, I asked that question because it contradicts what you said about them asking for the resident permit of a reference like you mentioned here.

Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by charlesklaus(m): 8:23am On Dec 10, 2025
There is no org/school as a type of reference in the VIDEX form option. The second option is “Educational establishment/company/organization”.

If this is what you chose, the caption they may be referring to is the fourth field titled, “Organisation’s objectives/area of activity“. Or maybe its an option that appeared when they previously asked you to provide a residence permit. This is because VIDEX form don't allow uploading documents. In one of your previous comment you said “attached proof of residence “.

Talk2Bella:
Instead of choosing org/education, I chose reference. I guess this was the reason they asked for the PR document, I have updated it to the later and now attached proof of residence.
In this youtube video, the person did say we can add a hotel reservation in this type of reference selection.

https://youtu.be/AGs3BeskQ4E?si=4kXP6CrvIBZAvFRv

The truth is, you aren’t really clear about what your are experiencing.

Also @Talk2Bella, did you add a date of birth when you previously chose a “Reference person” as the type of reference?

They have responded via the same mail trail and asked that I upload the reference data page

Apparently the mail address works
What I learnt : Most of the questions we ask here are already answered in the FAQs on the website

Only peculiar questions not answered in the FAQ will get a deserving answer or response via mail.

I'm available to taketour questions

Good morning everyone,
I joined waitlist since March, had lots of forth & back during preliminary stage(August- November ).
I’ve finally gotten an interview appointment for January.

I appreciate everyone that has given very vital informations on this trend, most have been so helpful.

I’ll sincerely appreciate if anyone can tell me exactly what I should be expecting at the interview process including the kind of questions that might be asked.
Thanks 🙏🏽

Yes they will ask you questions based on your field of study; ask you questions like what happens if you don’t get a job, how do you plan to support yourself etc
