You may not be able to leave any inheritance [properties and all] for your future generation, but you can do this: plant fruit trees.

Yes, you read right!

Plant fruit trees to leave to your future generation, and in 5-7 years time, you will begin to reap the fruit of your labour, and those after you will eat of the fruits, and thank you.

Own something in your lifetime. Even if it is a fruit tree.

Plant fruit trees, and your children will never go hungry.

Agriculture is the true riches.

Youre right, OP. This reminds me of the ekiti people. The cocoa and orange trees planted by my my granma's husband are still there till today, yielding fruits. They were planted about 90 years ago. Though looking old, they've served 4 generations already. There's a mango tree I know too. Each time I visit, we'd go to the farm and pluck it's fruits, in front of the hut. I grew up to meet the mango tree. Its still there till today, yielding fruits very big now.

No be only future generation. All man to himself. If I am able to leave something for them, it's fine, but I go use the moni way i make and enjoy myself and chop life, if he remain, good for my future generation, but if he no remain, nothing concern me.

I don see where pikin use 6 months chop all the moni and properties hin papa suffer to gather in almost 30 yrs.

The only legacy I wld leave for my offsprings is good education.

Only if bandits and herders will allow people harvest the fruits of their labour in peace.

Farming is risky business in today's Nigeria.

That's a good idea, we have plenty of them back at home, we'd even share some of the fruits with our relatives and neighbours.

I grew up in Surelere (Olumegbon street), and each house back then had one or two types of fruit trees. We used to exchange them back then.
Some had Apples, some had avocados (we used to call it Pear), some had Guava, some had a fruit with nuts in it. Mango was a very popular tree in almost all compounds. It was a very good life.
life.
I went back to my old neighborhood, and I can't even recognize my old house. The whole street looks so terrible and is a complete shambles with overpopulation and rotten urban buildings/stores everywhere. The Lagos state government failed with a serious developmental plan.

Lagos declined when too many people started moving here. Overpopulation will always lead to deforestation and a concrete jungle, which is what Lagos is now. Pls plant a tree or two.

At the bolded. It is the reason families find it hard to retain wealth for more than one generation.

Some people just want to put everything in their, especially when they didn’t work for it

That can only happen when you don't travel to your land from time to time.
Your presence matter.

Cocoa tress aren't bad at all. Am a fan of tree planting... A kilo of cocao is now 25k. Cashew tree is also good. There are many companies that buy cashew seed for cashew oil

Nigeria was never rich.

Even in the 1960s that a lot of people like to say we were rich, access to good roads , electricity, potable water and even schools was very poor .

The only people who enjoyed were the very tiny educated class and even the tinier upper class.

By the time when our population started rising beyond where our revenue could sustain it..issues started

Nigeria is really blessed.

We are not just smart enough to ultiize the good land and natural resources God has blessed us with.

Nigeria and Nigerians are not supposed to be poor if we have sense to harness the resources we have.
