Alhassan Yusuf is a decent, younger and much better player. I'm disappointed with his exclusion.

I wouldn't have been pissed if Alhassan's spot had been taken by Anthony Dennis or Chrisantus Uche but Usman Mohammed? His inclusion has Gusau written all over it, and Chelle has some explaining to do.

I'd honestly rather see Ebenezer Harcourt as third choice than Uzoho. At least the former will get big tournament experience. He doesn't even need to play. He just has to get a feel of the stakes and atmosphere. Is there any truth to the rumor that Okoye declined? That will be very bizarre of him.

The list is a D- overall. Not expecting much from this team.

What are thoughts on this squad list ? Am wishing the team a semi final spot at least. Let’s see what happens who knows maybe a new gem may be uncovered in this tournament . Remember Osaze in 2004 afcon

Many of us could tell from the 55 man preliminary list that we're really short of quality in key positions, but given the options available from list, the final draft is rather poor I must say. I don't know how Chelle expects to pull this off, but let's see how it goes. I don't expect this team to win the AFCON. I think this is more of a way to test some of the new players and see their potential for the future.

You people should take it easy the only mistake I see in the list is usman and Lawal. Ther ar still 26 other players in the list.
Overall, I think is a very good selection from the coach, he can start build new team from the list.
I'm particularly impress with the midfielders.

Well on the bright side... we finally have Akinsanmiro.

Plus Fisayo is back.

Happy Paul Onuachu is in the squad. He deserves to be rewarded for his form.

Have mixed feelings about Dessers . I dont think he's cut for the physicality of african football. Would have preferred a Rafiu Durosinmi.

Chrisantus should have made the list based on his Getafe reputation and performances over Salim Fargo due to his versatility and ability to play as a CDM. CAM and SS. Eff Crystal Palace. There's no way Chrisantus wouldn't have made the list were he still in Getafe and playing regularly.

31 years old Mohammed Usman? No words.

On a serious note, all slots should be used judiciously. Worst case is to use it to build for tomorrow. What future are we building with a 31 year old?

Few observations about this squad

Solid midfield ✔️
The gradual but purposeful integration of new players, seems the rebuilding process has begun ✔️
Still several head-scratching player/political selections, but what is a Nigerian team without its drama?
No Maduka
No Rafiu
Glad to see Ryan Alebiosu and Igoh Ogbu, we're stacked in defence and the likes of Benjamin Frederick (new star boy), Emmanuel Uchenna, Franklin Tebo etc aren't even in the team
