Agree with elyte89. These people have not shown that the incorrect personnel is their issue. Even with the correct squad, these goats could not even qualify to the world cup. They could not even top a group where a team was deducted 3 points. Let these ones come and play their own lets see

I think the list is okay. No point inviting players Chelle won't use like uche. It's clear Chelle picked his 23 man list that's going to be sponsored by caf while the 5 extra were handpicked by NFf for their own selfish interest. Players like usman and Fargo will just be used as training cones just like the way papa Mohamed was pushed until he got a move abroad. We should be fine with Chelle 23 man list
Fargo isn't a bad player
He is young and doing well in the Croatia league

Preliminary squad will be out soon.
Those that will pay for 4 extra slot will be obvious
it was always going to be obvious. Let the competition start lets see what they will play.

How do we rebuild with a 31 year old new invitee playing in the Israeli league? Chelle picks his 23-man squad first, and the NFF adds the remaining five since they are the ones sponsoring the extra. That is what just happened.
You know book
NFF will even cover the expenses for the extra 5, as CAF will only cover for 23..

Irrespective of the squad list let’s rally behind the boys ahead of the Afcon Cup finals. If they can make it to the semifinals that will be a boost considering the players on board
I think it's a good list
The gaffer finally did something about the midfield
If our midfield clicks, we will go all the way
We have a solid defence and attack

The truth is Nigeria will always do politics and drama with everything, even AFCON list
Nevertheless the squad is strong enough to go all the way

Eric Chelle will be axed after the AFCON.
He won't make it to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Lol super eagles still dey give some of una sleepless nights?

My feelings for them died the day they were clobbered by the DRC. Lol I didn't even know there will be an AFCON this month.

I pray they get kicked out in the group stage, to save Osimhen the unnecessary stress.

I'm glad Maduka isn't going to the AFCON. I never wanted him to go after being away for weeks for a ban. He needs to be with his club and help them survive.

If I had my way, I would use home based players for this AFCON. Yea, that's how inconsequential this year's AFCON is to me.

The trophy belongs to either Senegal, Morocco or CIV. DRC and SA can try their kicks too.

Maduka asked for first choice and playing guarantee which wasn't given so he asked to be excused. Would Maduka have pulled this stunt if we had qualified for the World cup? I don't think so!

The team should always come before individual, and at this point Maduka should be axed from the National team and never invited again.

Still, Eric Chelle made a big mistake selecting Francis Uzoho. A Dele Adeleye or even an Ebenezer Harcourt would have been better for the experience and futuristic purpose.

Eric Chelle doesn't realize how terrible Uzoho is. Uzoho cannot even play goal kicks. His goal kicks don't go far at all. Na defender dey play goal kick for am. He is also very clumsy with his feet. His ball playing ability and distribution is very poor too. Anytime, he is given a back pass our hearts will be in our mouths.

Reflexes nko? Na just average. He will not make any save he is not supposed to make, and he will still concede goals he should ordinarily be saving. Goal keeping sense and anticipation na Zero. He is not dominant in the air and even gets bullied aerially. What a waste of height, and space in the squad.

If Eric Chelle selected 23 players, and the NFF added 5 to make it 28, wasn't Francis. Uzoho in the 23 players selected by Eric Chelle?

Now, I am going into this AFCON with an additional prayer point that Nwabali should be fit to play all the games and Amas Obasogie is the designated backup/2nd choice goalie.

Eric Chelle really fumbled with the choice of Uzoho.
I think you meant to say Maduka, but you wrote Uzoho in the first two paragraphs

I'm just watching the AFCON for the vibes at this point. If they win or not, I do not care. Nothing they can do in this AFCON will erase the fact that they bottled another World Cup qualifiers, especially one hosted in the freaking USA and when the teams and slots have been expanded. That loss to DRC seriously numbed me to this AFCON. I have no expectations from this squad.

For the sake of their reputation, they should at least win the AFCON. But for me personally, they'll need to win at least two AFCONs and qualify for the next World Cup before I start to believe in this team again.

Typical Nigerian call up lists since as far back as I can remember (circa 2015)

Goalkeeping/defense: strong
Midfield: weak
Attack: strong

Goalkeeping/defense: weak
Midfield: strong
Attack: strong

Goalkeeping/defense: strong
Midfield: strong
Attack: weak

For the past ten years, I don't think I've seen a list where all three areas were solid and had depth at the same time.

Nah I disagree. It won't happen. So he should leave his first choice position in the Serie A and sit on the bench throughout AFCON. Maduka is good enough to be exchanging gametime with Nwabali. Someone that can even make Germany's squad list at this point. So asking for gametime is not out of place.

Chelle is a shtty coach anyways so he won't be there for long. The kind of coach that will substitute a player in and substitute them out.

Main reason for Okoye's omission

Okoye made it very clear that if he won’t be the starting goalkeeper at the AFCON, he won’t come for the tournament,” the source told SCORENigeria

With this list my hope of super eagles winning the afcon is dashed
Na that boy way score that fancy goal against Atletico that year

Make una de calm down abeg. Nothing do the list. Akinsanmiro, Nnadi and Ryan are there that have a very high chance of playing good minutes. Usman is not an important player to be discussing
